Quick question: if I order the physical PC version (to Spain) will I have to pay the shipping separately? If so, when? When they are going to ship it, or right after the kickstarter ends? Thanks.

Wow, this is great. I hope I won't cause them much trouble though. (I live in the Canary Islands)They aren't charging for a delivery cost. When you pick a pledge, you choose your country from the bottom of the screen, and it gives you the final tally before you pledge. In this instance, no extra costs are added.
You'll be charged on Saturday once the Kickstarter is over, and then we all wait two and a half years for the game to be made.
whoah!
i wonder if chapter 2 is canon then.... can he really have survived both times ryo kicked him into the ocean?
Makes sense and I expected it, tbh.Ah spoiler from the Nico Nico preso:Chai is back in Shenmue 3.

This will leave me at almost 0$ but whatever. Student life.
I really wished I haven't read that but I think it would have came out anyway. Damn damn.... DAMNNNNNNNNNNNNNN! I'm kicking myself when I shouldn't have to. I hope the story surprises me so the person appears when I least expect it.
The number that means the most to me is the backer count.
It is just amazing that 53,300 people have pledged their own money towards the future of Shenmue.
Still 2 years time to forget.![]()

Impossible, my friend. Completely and utterly possible.
I really hope and pray Sony does some Lords of the Rings level of marketing. It will be so sooooo sick! Yes, promo Chai if you have to, it will be best!
Oh man I remember that thread!Oh man, going back and reading this thread I made about a hypothetical Shenmue III Kickstarter is pure gold note that it's actually happened.

All you media blackout people are such liars. When the first real Shenmue III trailer hits you will all be back on ShenmueGAF screaming with excitement.

Accept it people. It's simply not happening. Shenmue is never happening like TLG and probably FFXV as well.
would take too much coordination with sega. i'm sure they're as surprised by the outpouring of support as yu suzuki was though. if they were willing to let him use the IP for free/incredibly low cost, they must have thought it was worth literally nothing outside of merchandising to fans. The fact that I recently completed Shenmue 1 and immediately felt that I MUST give money to this kickstarter makes me think that this would have raised like double as much money if they had a HD remaster launched right after the kickstarter began. A surprise annoucenement or something. It would have been amazing.
Beautiful.EDIT: found my post in that KS thread

i was definitely a man of my word.
Have gotten a number of messages from people who said they donated to the Kickstarter after reading my blog post, so hopefully I've more than lived up to my word as well.Easily, at least 100 dollars. Minimum.
I also run a popular blog with a following of about 30,000 followers. I'm sure I could drum up another 500 in donations for Shenmue from my followers.
nice!Beautiful.
I found my post too...

good to see fans getting the word out. i've convinced a few friends to chip in but i don't have much reach beyond that.
I think your Herculean efforts in this thread have probably convinced more than that!nice!

You've done good work. I explain what it's about to my friends (they ask, because I'm so hyped) and they just go "huh, sounds kinda dumb to be honest" and move on with their lives. Their loss, I won't force it.![]()
ahhh, it's nothing really. just keeping the thread ticking over and trying to entice new/old fans to pitch in.I think your Herculean efforts in this thread have probably convinced more than that!
This is amazing. I just wonder what would happen if SEGA didn't fall out of the race and built a console that matches the PS3 with this type of production value.
There's a promo video that came out when it was fairly advanced in development with stuff like Ryo riding a bicycle and a cut-scene with him on a rooftop in Dobuita. There must be so much excised content in there.one day, there needs to a be a full and comprehensive breakdown of shenmue's development.
the game changed a whole lot on the dreamcast alone, let alone earlier saturn builds. hong kong and dobuita looked way different in earlier beta materials.
i'm watching that right now actually. the shenmue premiere video from 97/98 contains even earlier stuff. the only version available is very poor quality but you can see so much stuff that changed. character and environments got a big graphical boost, the UI got better, and the world seemed to open up quite a bit. hong kong looked a lot narrower in that video. There's a promo video that came out when it was fairly advanced in development with stuff like Ryo riding a bicycle and a cut-scene with him on a rooftop in Dobuita. Yeah it's truly amazing the amount of detail in an area that wasn't playable. You can find the original videos here -

Road to Amihama part 2
LanDC speculated that it seems at one point in development it seemed like Ryo might have had ability to ride motorcycle to harbour as the traffic was programmed to stop in front of you. And there was built off-ramps, traffic lights ect.

That's insane, had no idea Shenmue was that big. Always thought the motorcycle scene with Nozomi was rendering all those building scenes in segments with careful camera views instead of one big city.
