Mission 6
where in THE WORLD is this Honeybee weapon

There's a prisoner who can tell you the exact location. If you dawdle too much however, the soviets are also interrogating that same prisoner, if you don't get to the bridge fast enough they'll take him to the location of the weapon and then move it elsewhere. You'll have to interrogate the guards who were with the prisoner in order to find out, if that happens. They also execute the prisoner when he leads them to the weapon.

Such Atmosphere

the audio in this game is like amateur hour sometimes. overly loud sounds (open the door softly god damnit), voices too soft, audio out of sync with the movements on screen, voices overlapping each other when you're listening to tapes and then ocelot decides he wants to talk over it. literally undoes the whole point of being able to listen to audio types while playing since your audio tape could get talked over at any point and cause you to miss things.

finished the prologue and first few missions. i'm prepared based on others impressions but will still be disappointed if there aren't more crazy mgs cutscenes like this later on. i hated the micromanaging of motherbase in peace walker...and what i've seen so far with the R&D stuff doesn't make me think i'll change my mind. so far the actual gameplay is fun though.

i know its still early but hopefully my mindset trends more positive the further along i get.

First of all, it's not rural Afghanistan. It's Northern Kabul.

Secondly, I've personally never been to that region of Africa but I assume there's more than one goat or zebra there which is about all I ever saw going out on missions. I didn't see a single snake in this game, or lion, giraffe, or hippo, or elephant. Surely rural Africa has that stuff right?
Kabul is not the same as Northern Kabul, which in the context of game is a rural area.

Africa is a big place and not all of these places have hippos, giraffes, elephants and especially lions.

Yea this mission is very easy, I didn't even need the D walker to S rank it. I simply used the armoured vehicle to kill them.

I have issues with the Back up, Back Down mission though...it's quite difficult to S rank that one.

this mission was horrible, I had loads of heavy artillery out read to take out the tanks, and then when it came to the skulls they kept destroying the truck in no time.

took me soo many attempts, and each checkpoint was before i'd taken out the tanks

Yea fuck this. I love how the other objectives in the mission flat out don't work. . .and I'm standing there like an asshole getting shot. Maybe "No Firearms" means something else to these developers.

After no issues with Ground Zeroes I'm getting all sorts of weird control issues.

Using KB+M and it's all controller prompts, which doesn't bother me, but my controls are crazy. I Just got to the first part where you get a pistol and the game is stuck in weapon ready mode, every button fires the weapon, and I can't look around without holding down a button. Been looking around and so far I've only seen one other person with this issue and as of yet, no solution.

I just stumbled upon mission 11
Quiet
but don't have the tranq sniper... Can I just leave and come back? Don't know what to do.

Is it possible to
kill her with a normal wep?

It took about 20 tranq rounds to the face but I took down a bear and sent it back to mother base. The boys are in for a surprise when they get that delivery.

Man, I find myself spending hours on some of these side ops alone. The Unlucky Dog (part 1 I think) is giving me trouble. Failed it twice.

I adore so much about the game, but there are some parts that do feel a little empty. Afghanistan is pretty much just paths to your next objective. And the story is way less in your face than previous Metal Gears. I'm hoping that doesn't mean it's actually less engrossing or scaled down in the long run, and it only seems that way because I'm doing so much optional stuff. (I'm on main mission 8.)

But when it comes to the gameplay an atmosphere, hot damn. Easily the most exciting Metal Gear yet. The kind of lifeless open world is worth it to get so many ways of approaching so many awesome scenerios.

Yes, it's possible.

It definitely isn't. It's a very engaging and interesting story as far as where I am at now, batshit insanity confirmed as well.

You can for your first question and for your second question I'll say
it's possible not to kill her with a normal weapon

Just beat Mission 6.
This game is so good. I love it all so far - and have very little to no complaints. I tried to beat the Skull unit with the Honey Bee but it didn't work out so I had to resort to running away. Got a crap rank on it (Worst yet) so I may redo the mission since there seems to be multiple ways to approach it.

Also can now develop the TPP sneaking suit! My only real complaint is that it sucks so much time and it's so hard to put down!

Took DD with me who marked her when she appeared and tranquilized her with the normal tranq gun. Was not too difficult. I failed 2 times before I got DD but I was successful the first time with him on board.

She needs about 5-8 hits whether you hit the head or not.

in the menu it says you can use the helicopter for deployment and relocation. Can I relocate to another landing zone across the map with the chopper or do I have to go back into that air command mode?

My friend's PS4 froze and he lost his save after a good 8 or so hours of progress, now's he planning to return the game.

We've lost a Diamond Dog. :(

Unfortunately you have to go back to ACC. It's a bit of a bummer because the game does have a system to go from one landing zone to another without going to ACC but it's only there in motherbase.

Called my "avatar" Black Jackal, fairly generic look but a pretty cool face from all angles, so I'm satisfied with it.

I notice that the face feature options like hair etc. seem like they will have more added eventually, probably stuff you get/carry over from MGO.

I used a normal sniper rifle I was even worried because my before my last shot she only had a tiny bit of health left
Although it sounds like I got pretty lucky

So I finished about 5 missions and 10 side ops.

And unless the game screws up majorly later on, this is already my GOTY.

I forgot how fun Peace Walker was, but The Phantom Pain reminded me.

Didn't know you need a special type of fulton to extract arsenal, so I tried it with the normal fulton, which failed lifting it and made so much noise it alerted some of the guards in that area, heh.

Nice little thing to see at mother base, go to the medical area, right where the shooting range is go up the stairs to the top and go through a door, you'll love it.

What do you mean?

I couldn't get close enough to tranq her so I just kept shooting her from a distance with the sniper rifle, I was worried it would kill her but after the last shot she just appeared in the centre of the area on the floor with the cut scene thing where you have the option to finish her off or not.

I still haven't found the zoo yet, do you know where it is? I'd like to pay a visit to my animals myself.

Yaaass good to hear. I need to just start putting some of this side stuff to the SIDE and crank down on some of the main stuff. I'm digging the fuck out of the base building stuff, but the story is the main reason why I'm here and I want that Metal Gear shit. I haven't seen a true cutscene in so long that I'm losing that feel right now.

It would be really disappointing if you can't miss Quiet. Kojima did say, that it would be possible to entirely miss her, but I guess she'll have to turn up for the story at some point.

Have anybody in here completed The Phantom Pain yet?

I haven't, but I really hope we'll get boss battles with The Man On Fire, Quiet, Skull Face, Code Talker, Eli, the Psycho Mantis kid etc.

Mission 11 -
Took me a long time, but it was really enjoyable. I went around and used my tranq pistol and basically stalked Quiet around the entire area. Reminded me a lot of The End. One of the truly great moments of the game.

Yea that's how it's suppose to happen.

You must have an animal conservation platform by mission 20-22.
You can only get there via your chopper, you press triangle on map and it gives you the option to land in that area.

Do not click below if you haven't discovered the secret room on Mother Base:

Make sure every time you complete the wandering MB soldier side op you return to Paz. I'm going to assume the memento pics are going to be the key to restoring her memory...? You get some cassette tapes sometimes, too.

Mission 20:

Was anyone else super disappointed you couldn't pick up the P.T. tape you can hear on the radio in one of the camps? Such a cruel tease.

You can kill her at the end of the fight, I don't think you can miss her though.

I wish the cover system worked like it did in MGS4, where you tapped the triangle button to snap in and out... The automatic cover is a bit fiddly.

Equipping the bionic arm as your 'weapon' makes CQC absolutely hilarious. I can't stop laying people out with awesome robot hand haymakers.

Oh, I'm not gonna read that spoiler but thanks anyway Angel_DvA.

Also, I wish people wouldn't have mentioned that zoo thing for ones animals. I didn't know about that.

I'm glad they went for an automatic cover system, though it is fiddly, and not as polished as the one in The Last of Us.
How do I even use the arm? Do I equip it, and then CQC like normal? I only have the red arm.

I've failed the same mission like three times already and I'm still not sick of playing. Great stealth experience.

I noticed when you fail a mission and start again you still have all the enemies marked on the screen.

Yeah you can just exit the mission and come back later. Just wondering about this mission
what happens if you choose to/use normal weapons to kill her?

Am I right in thinking, that the camoflage system isn't as good, as in Snake Eater and Guns of the Patriots? I kind of miss the OctoCamo but is okay with it not being there, as we are back in the 80's but I don't understand why they didn't go for a camo index percentage again.
