I saw those when I logged in. I just assumed they were "get to level 10, get to level 20" etc etc quests.

No one answers me in the other thread.
I have a chance to buy the ultimate what ever edition today. Is it a waste of time and money, since it seems TTK stuff will not be unlocked until Monday 2:00 am PST in which case I should just buy the $40.00 edition.

So my family downgraded our Internet. I am getting around 4ish Mbps upload and like seriously 1.0 for download. I know my PS4 doesn't like those numbers but would that be serviceable on Xbox One since the WiFi is stronger in that system?
Are you talking about the Legendary Edition? If you own the original Destiny and both DLC's, you can go for the $40 version. If you own Destiny but not the DLC, or don't own Destiny at all, go for the Legendary Edition because it includes everything.
The Collector's Edition will sell for a tidy profit on eBay, but if you aren't really interested in that then you might as well just wait for the digital expansion.

The Legendary Edition? It's Taken King plus the original game and the two previous expansions. If you already have everything but taken king, you don't need to get that version, just the $40 expansion pack.
Edit: oh the physical CE version? Might be worth it since it seems to be a true limited edition that's been sold out for months.

I do own everything. I was just wondering if I should skip the opportunity to getting the Legendary today, because I can't do anything with it until Tuesday, at which point I could just spend the $40.00 and buy TTK digitally.
Are you talking about the Legendary Edition or the Collector's Edition? They are two different things. Legendary Edition is Base game + DLC + The Taken King. Collector's edition is Legendary Edition with extra goodies.
If you already own everything, just wait until Tuesday and get The Taken King.
you expected more from a quest you get from a redbull can early that'll be released to everyone eventually? Also, I get you want new assets (I do too) for ghosts but we've had the same 2 ghost colors for an entire year. I think recolored assets are at least a step (even if a baby step) in the right direction of customization.

If I could replace the base game with a digital copy for 10ish bucks I would.
It's your money man, do with it as you wish, I personally only got the $40 version because I already own vanilla and expansion pass digitally
You should pay the 40. That's your cheapest and most convenient option. you won't have to wait for a retailer to deliver it to you.

4Mbps is 4Mbps no matter which console you use, you'll only get 0.5 MB/s up and 0.125 MB/s download on both. Both consoles wifi can handle far greater speeds than yours.

Re: The Legendary Edition question, if you're asking if you can actually play the content now, the answer is no. Nobody can until a small patch is released at 2AM PST on Tuesday.

It's poorly worded. The first sections suggests it opens a new area of a strike, and the whole tone suggests increased difficulty (hand picked skulls? new placements?). You also have some kind of side goal as the boss fight goes on, requiring some level of increased management.
It's the kind of stuff strikes need, so I think it sounds great.
I was thinking it might be more like Eris Morn's Urn of Sacrifice quest, where you go do unique stuff in patrols and then have a remixed story mission with some unique features.
Having a repainted Sparrow as a reward just feels a little underwhelming since Year 1 players already got a Sparrow when The Dark Below released, and are getting yet another Sparrow when Taken King releases. So now that's three bonus Sparrows will likely just be shelved in favor of the faster Timebreaker Sparrow.
If they want to use Sparrows as rewards that is cool, but if they aren't going to be even remotely distinctive then there's not much allure.
im not going to comment on recycled mission content until well after release, but I agree sparrows need an overhaul and need to be more unique.

How much single player content is in TTK? I know there's a new raid and crucible maps, but are there going to be a lot of single player story missions?

I play on xbox one and when destiny launched last year I was on holiday in a cottage with up to 1MB down and 0.25 up, I was able to play destiny fine but PvP would time me out unless it was that 2 v 2 mode they used to have.

A few hours worth, but TTK ( and Destiny itself) is never going to be very attractive for someone primarily interested in playing it as a solo experience.

The base game will be a disc and then one code for the three expansions.
Really? You're gonna pay someone actual money to use a code generator for you?
I've had multiple codes from my cans not work because they were claimed already.

Same. Someone on this board was nice enough to donate a code to me, only to find out it was already used because of some d-bag.
A tumbler trick sparrow that goes as fast as the VoG/CE/Xur upgrade sparrow would be my ideal sparrow... Nothing like that currently exists in the game that you can get any other way... The end reward is not a re-colored asset... I would love to have one... I will do the red bull quest if it goes that fast.

SAME! I play other games, but always come back to Destiny and it's tedious to switch disks in 2015.

My buddy and I wanna hop back in and play tonight. I am 33. Stopped shortly after House of Wolves. He's 31 stopped with Dark Below.

PoE is a lot of fun and it will net you a lot of XP to get to 34. Do the nightfall first for the XP buff. Don't know how you can get keys for the big chest right now, though.

I don't believe it ever did. It was that if you did all of the queens quests you had a chance to receive a key.
So I haven't pre-ordered TTK, but i patched up to 2.0 and played destiny for the first time in a couple months last night.
I was given a couple exotic weapons when I came into the tower, and I'm not sure why. Is it possible they gave me credit for the quests that were partially completed?

It took me about an hour or so to go form 31 to 34. I did 1 strike, and some patrol. In the process I completed some bounties and that's all it took to hit 34.

Yes the exotic bounties auto completed.
You automatically get atleast one key a week for doing a Queens quest.

Should I try and avoid leveling up any factions before the 15th?
Edit: Also does Bounty exp give exp to ALL equipment on you now? Cause I noticed my Icebreaker and Patience and time were suddenly at max even though I haven't used them and they were still nodes away from the end.

I thought I'd read that there are 8.
Are you hoping to get TTK gear in your faction reward packages? If so, I would think you could still complete the rep levels but not open your reward packages until after the update. Can anyone correct me if I'm wrong?

So, I bought the Collector's Digital from the PS Store. But, for some reason I still need the game disc in the PS4 to be able to play Destiny.

Somewhere along the line, not sure where, I seem to have lost the pre-launch promotional emblems. The ones you put codes into Bungie.net for prior to the initial launch last year. They're not in my inventory or Vault, and the Emblem kiosk doesn't have them. Weirdly enough, the final page of emblems is missing categories as well. I show Promotional 1, 2 and 5, but not 3 and 4. Maybe they're there and something's broken at the moment?

I don't think the system is capable of transforming the installed disc into an installed digital copy from a DRM perspective. You should download the digital version from the store.
