A friend and I are teetering on the edge of picking up the Taken King PS4 bundle this week to play Destiny. We both enjoy Halo (1 and 2, haven't played one since) and Borderlands 2 and Destiny looks like a mashup of the two from watching videos and streams. The only other game I'd be likely to use the PS4 for is Bloodborne, at least until next year.

Would you buy a PS4 primarily for Destiny?

If you already have, any regrets?

It's a lot of money and I'm just looking for opinions to justify the purchase for myself.

I bought my PS4 just for Destiny back at launch and didn't regret it.

I think if you enjoyed Halo and Borderlands you're right, you'll probably enjoy Destiny. Are you two planning on playing together? Leveling / storyline solo is a pretty boring existence.

I love Destiny!

So much so that I wanted to have the digital version so that I can always play it without changing disc.

So on top on my Physical CE that's coming in the mail I bought the legendary edition digitally off PSN. I guess I repaid for the DLC, but I'll make some cash back when I sell everything that's not the Ce content off my CE.

I see that TTK is getting shipped from Best Buy. I'm pretty eager to give this game a shot. I only really sampled it on the 360 a year ago, so pretty much all of this is going to be new to me. Getting it on PS4, by the way. Would love to play with some of the folks here.

Urghhh great. Update means I can't buy the digital collectors upgrade now as it seems to have installed the TTK dlc now and I cant go back to that page where it is, and even if I could, probably couldnt buy it anyway as now the store recognises I own TTK.

Now I'll be worrying if the TTK isnt taken (hehe), off my account before midnight whether I'll still get the pre-order bonuses when I can finally buy the upgrade.

Side note: Is it ever actually faster to ride your sparrow indoors? I feel like running and not crashing everywhere is faster.

Naw man, sparrows are totally faster. Especially the ones with higher base speeds.

If it's how I suspect it is, (Which is why I cancelled my TTK pre order), looks like it's bundled in with TTK itself. I found it by going on the TTK icon on the world map and the 3rd option included TTK and the CE content. You would have only been able to see it if TTK wasnt installed though, so may be too late to see it now if you already pre ordered TTK, you may have to cancel if thats the only way to get the CE content.

I'm almost doubting that they did a preview event for TTK. Reviews will probably have to be done once it goes live for everyone.

Yeah for this kind of game that would make sense. The only true way to experience it is when it goes live for the whole world

If you don't own the expansions I don't think it will even let you buy the $40 version.

Oh man that Destiny Item Manager chrome extension is amazing, not played the game since several months back but I was still able to login and sort all my loot out ready for TTK, amazing stuff and much better then the destiny phone app.

Do lower level enemies still scale up to your level? Always felt weird having hardmode raid gear yet vs the lower enemies there wasnt any improvement.
