This is the reason I don't roll in PA 24/7. I think on a subsequent play thru of this I'm going to just console command my way to infinite cores and never leave my armor.

did they really just create a entire zone, quite well done and pretty, just for a little joke? Bathesda ohyou.jpg

General Atomics Galleria. A collection of various stores, diners and a bowling alley (a outdoor mall basically) run by a variety of mr.handys. IYou can interact with all of them in the stores and little things will happen (usually they malfunction and attack you), and you get a miscelaneous (not sidequest) objective to go speak to the director, who is in a tower in the center of the mall. you take a elevator up there and initiate the grand reopening of the galleria, and he gives you the reward... 15 pre war money >_> because they dont know what caps are, they are pre war. a game of bowling osts 5000 dollars aparently lol

I know I said I was going to mainline more but then I run into shit like this and how can I not check it out man?

Any way to cancel an animation? My character is stuck trying to put a power core in some armour, last save is a before I did a bunch of inventory management.

Can someone tell me where I get the army clothes? Saw it in a vid and thought it looked awesome. Already have a helmet but I don't find enemies which drop the rest.

How are you supporting your addiction with cores? I am always too worried to go out and use a suit unless I really need to.

Well I have the Nuclear perk that doubles the life of my core, plus I spend most of my caps on buying new cores when ever I see them. In those gifs, you can see I have like, 70 of them.

I need that many to run my power armor for 24/7 play, use the jetpack, sprinting, and the gatling gun uses fusion cores as ammo, something like 1000-2000 rounds per core. Even with all of that shit using my cores, I STILL seem to be getting more cores than I can use.

There be times where I'd be exploring a building and open up a container, like a regular ass ammo crate, and there's 4 damn cores in them, not fusion cells, but CORES(ammo savage perk i bet).

And places like diamond city, those venders be having like 3-5 cores on hand, thanks to stats, perks, and gear, they cost like 300 caps each, which is small change since i got like 5 stores in my settlement making me caps, plus selling all the weapons and ammo I dont use, I stay with caps.

so cores is like water to me.

Which perks are the best for maximizing Power Armor usage and usefulness?

Nuclear physicist isn't actually necessary since cores are extremely abundant. You can be in power armor the entire game and steadily increase your supply of them without having the perk. Don't worry about it if you don't have very high int. By the time I got the perk just for the radiation weapon bonus I already had 70+ cores.

Get scrapper for the raw materials to repair and upgrade it, and science + armorer to do the upgrades. You want a jetpack. You really want a jetpack. :D

Anyone else lose their dog?

I decided to roll with a human for a while after I got annoyed at the dog getting in my way all the time and assumed a human would be better at not being in my way (I was wrong) but now I can't find him. I sent him to wait at Sanctuary and I checked all other settlements just in case but he's gone.

Encountered a bug where i couldn't open vault 114. Had to use noclip-mode and somehow managed to progress the questline. Really shitty feeling, but i guess it's better than to stop playing the game for a few months in wait for a patch.

Me and you both started playing at the same time on hard mode. I'm level 25 now, and hard mode is turning into a joke. I can one to three shot everything. Thinking about going on very hard. Plus I want more legendary gear. How are things for you?

Slow, brother. VERY slow. Difficulty wise I still find it pretty hard when I get swarmed. Though I don't use Power Armor too much, I should.

I'm level 12, exploring literally EVERY damn corner I possible can. Haven't even found the Diner yet lol or got to Diamond City.

When I find a place I make sure I %100 explore everything. I spent two hours in Super Duper Mart. That gives you an idea of how much I take my time.

Also Settlements..God damn. Time eater!

Will probably start Preston's quest soon. That Cervega one.

Yeah that's the build I am going for. I want to add Gun Nut as well.

just got my first Gauss rifle. Not legendary tho so no special affix. Heres a ew questions Ive been wondering

1 - Event / Weapon Spoiler - Ive seen people talk about a
alien ship crash even, where did that happen? and do you get the alien gun from the loading screen (and from the FO3 Zeta DLC) in that event?

2 - Remember that big ass ship (as in boat) from the trailers, looked like a city built on a ship on land. Anyone found that? Ive seen a big ship but it was near the coast with raiders, I think the one fromk the trailers was surrounded with buildings, and supported by beams I want to say?

3 - Someone said something about NPC Spoiler
pirate robots
? where are those? :o

the icon on the map says cleared

Map icon says cleared under it.

Related to that, do all icons get [cleared] under them if they are? I did a ship by a bridge and searched fucking everywhere and that never went on my map, but I'm 99% sure I got everyone in the vicinity.

It says cleared n brackets under the location text. But for some reason Corvega for me doesn't stay cleared.

Thanks. Just verified this after visiting Weston Water Trearment. I had yet to see a Super Mutant in the game....holy hell was that a trial by fire. Got through though and cleared that shit.

So how does the faction system work in this game? I'd imagine
BoS
and the
Institute
are on polar opposites of each other, but how does the
Railroad
fit in? Are there any adverse effect to joining one or the other off the bat?

You know what's awesome? when you accidentally click on something that turns an entire city against you. The whole of diamond city is trying to kill me and every time it loads my game it loads to the game trying to kill me.

Nothing you can do but load a game from hours previous and lose all progress.

All the games bugs and short comings are exhausting me.

Save often. I also learned this very hard :(

Also try the 48hour trick Salty Catfish posted.

There's some kind of system in place where if you steal something and holster your weapon, someone will take it back and they'll no longer be aggressive -- failing that (it's only happened to me once), apparently if you let 48 in-game hours pass everyone will forget about it.

Not really a bug though is it? It's why you save a lot just incase something like this happens.

in previous games if you leave it a few days a town will lose its hostility

I haven't gone far enough where it's an issue but [faction allegiance spoiler]
the further you go down in the main quest the more the faction missions open up and you'll eventually have to make a decision between the main three. Minutemen is the only one that has no conflict
.

Just so you know, that aint a bug, that is intended. Been in every fallout. You get caught stealing, you pay with your life.

I don't get how this game refreshes some areas that were once cleared (or what triggers it). I already cleared out an area, got the gear and left. It went back to not cleared, and I went back to clear it and all the loot had been respawned (including a mini nuke and fat man that I already looted once). It also repopulated misc items that seemed important. It did not respawn the named end boss of that area again, so that was the only difference

So survival mode is pretty brutal huh? I'm running around with like 20-30 rounds of ammo at most, at level 8 every encounter with enemies seem like a fight that should be end-game stuff in tems of difficulty. Raiders with automated turrets, super mutants, 20 ghouls rushing me, power-armor Raiders...

I even unlocked the scavenger perk to hopefully find more ammo but not much difference yet.

I find myself staying in sanctuary building things more and more. The few quests I have are sending me miles away into heavily fortified enemy locations. Just now I had to bail myself out with a mini-nuke.

Is Diamond City where the game starts picking up in terms of getting quests? I'm trying to make it there but it seems difficult this early on.

Finished the main story.

...meh.

12 hours in and this is how I feel about the game entirely.

Combat especially is really awful(at least on Survival diff.). I was hoping for a tactical challenge, not "Point-blank pray 'n spray while backpeddling!" Way too many engagements that are pure attrition as enemies close distance with insane speeds(and are mostly melee focused). I can barely even switch to a proper close quarters weapon using the quick menu by the time many of these things are clipping through my character model and hacking away(from my initial prone 'stealth' hit). The only real upgrade to AI from FO3 is that Super Mutants and Raiders love tossing grenades/molotovs with the same impunity as Call of Duty now... (well, the MGS-esque stealth awareness states work better than before at least).

Maybe I need to embrace the stupidity of it all and just lower it down a bit(like the gifs I see of dumb violence). I fear I am stuck between just blowing everything to hell with ease or dealing with the turgid and occasionally frustrating mess that is Survival. As an RPG, this is just the worst.

At least the exploration and quests still have me somewhat engaged and curious, but Bethesda has given us better in that department too from what I have seen and done so far.

The last two are in the same place. You'll find it eventually, pretty hard to miss.

I've seen the UFO event, but I haven't found the crash site. Was way overencumbered when it happened.

Are the locations only raider/ ghoul held places?

I've played the game for 20 hours and feel like I've barely progressed. Boston is so damn dense and I end up wanting to explore everything. I have barely left the city at all. This game is pretty big.

Damn. I haven't used my armor once after the forced bit.

Yea I see many people are doing the same thing. They aren't using their power armor. I been using my power since I first got it.

I find it strange that i've read some people say this game is too hard, and got power armor just sitting in a dank corner, collecting dust.

I find myself using way more drugs in this then the previous games. The game can be legit hard at times but with drugs the encounters can be a breeze. Psycho + Med x ftw

Jet or Psychojet + a combat shotgun is a gamebreaker too. You can just waltz right up and unload in someone's face with total impunity.

This happened to me in New Vegas. I was so pissed. Everyone in the building suddenly looked over at me and tried to kill me. All this because I tried to talk to an NPC at the bar, who moved as I hit the button, revealing a pack of cigarettes I accidentally stole.
