Thanks for the commentary, fun to watch and listen. And about that adventorous part, I felt like I was stalling, so decided to go check the upper part of the map with the MG. But rewatching that match and listening the commentary shows the errors I know I made, and tought me few others I made.
 
My guy was indeed moving faster, but he approached at a better angle. The green shotgun had to turn 15º before he could start aiming.

I am pretty sure that movement speed was the more decisive factor waaay back when I started learning this game in depth. Not sure if thats just my imagination, though.

I need to simulate that some more.

The lower guy was at a MUCH wider angle, than the upper one who directly aimed at the lower shotgunner.
 
Perhaps I just got lucky. There is likely a RNG determining the spread of the bullets.

The game is known for having no RNG though. You can also check this by simulating the same situation over and over again. It will always be the same guy winning.

Already 2 losses, and one draw. Looks like I'm not going to make it far. Congrats to the winners.

Considering how well you were able to predict my moves, I guess I should be happy. But now I might need to play against the guys who predicted the moves of the guy who predicted my moves. o_o

Anyway, still have 3 matches left, win all three and you still have a good shot! :)

Uh, I have a technical problem. In one game against Super Inframan, one of my soldiers refuses to do anything. The first turn, I had him quickly switch between standing and ducking in order to distract Inframan's shotgunner. Now, in the second turn, there's still a smidge of the 'wait' timer left but it refuses to run out. Any commands I give the soldier is automatically added to the wait timer, and thus never performed. I've tried to delete the 'wait' order, but it doesn't work (and caused the game to stop responding twice). It seems this is a bug.

How should we continue? I don't know if it's fair to redo the match as Inframan killed one unit and I killed none, but on the other hand I lost a second unit due to a bug in the game.

I can make a gif if you want.

Those last 2 kills were strange though. The bullets can go through walls? :P hehe
I don't think you're actually questioning the result, but still, I don't see bullets going through walls in the video or even in the game itself?
The way the game renders the bullets is independent from its calculations about which unit should die, so sometimes you do see weird stuff like a unit dying from a shotgun bullet even though the unit seems to have walked away behind a wall and should be safe, but I don't see that happening here.

I can confirm that this happens sometimes, I've had it happen to me several times recently... I never saw it before (ie when I played it after the game's and the dlc's releases, and on and off after that) so it must be linked to changes the devs made fairly recently :s

I think the orders actually go through, like if you continue on sight then duck the unit does duck in the actual turn, but you just don't see it in the preview, so it can be hard to plan ahead obviously. Just specifying this in case it doesn't affect games and people can avoid restarting them; if you don't actually need the preview, try priming after giving the orders even if the behaviour seems off in the preview, and maybe it will actually behave like it should during the proper outcome.

Yeah, let's rematch. I noticed myself that the guy wouldn't move but I thought it was just a bug on my side during testing my superior strategies ;)

Oh no, sorry. It just appeared to me that my shotgun blast went thorugh the wall, and both our machinegun units had shots passing through the walls. Just an oddity.

Yeah, these shots dont actually go through walls. Its just the game showing stray shots, the actual shot should be right along a perfect line between the 2 soldiers outside of the wall. Thats normal.

GGs. That match felt like shotgun vs shotgun with artillery support. If I hadn't made the right call (read: flipped the right coin) on that first turn grenade, the match could've turned out way different.
