Uncharted 4 preview thread. New footage/info

Uh no it isn't. And screw you for spoiling that.

It's not really a spoiler because it's a different shot from the story trailer and if you didn't see the trailer yet, why are you even in this thread to begin with? If you felt spoiled from that then you spoiled yourself by clicking the white line.

I didn't click on any white line. It's a post with a spoilerific picture and text. I'm in this thread for general impressions.

Yet, you're in this thread when there's full of gifs from the preview also gifs from the story trailer. There's another thread posted here with the picture I just posted without the spoiler tag.

I'm in a thread that's supposed to be about...the previews that just came out. Not photos from the story trailer.

I need this now!

Everything looks great. The combat and traversal look like they've been improved a lot, I didn't like how you'd mostly follow yellow ledges in the past games, this seems like much more of an adventure. I'm guessing vehicles will be tied to different sections, like the jeep will only be in Madagascar.

I managed to avoid listening to the dialogue but the impressions so far sound great. It's easily one of my favourite parts of Uncharted, which is why the first play through is always the best and it's part of what sets Naughty Dog apart from others.

It's not surprising that Uncharted 4 looks or plays as good as it does, but it's relieving that its numerous new ideas feel so immediately natural. The game's new degree of depth made me feel like I was creating my own set-piece moments around its templates, rather than being siphoned into scripted sequences that frequently tug control away to show you more beautifully produced but non-interactive cut-scenes.

I have seen 4-5 videos by now and not one of these guys tried to pull both pillars at the same time by wrapping the winch around both of them.

Never mind the graphics and the mindblowing animations, I was blown away by the winch mechanic hahah xD

I just love that it isn't just a button press, but that you actually have to walk around the tree to wrap the cable around it, such an awesome detail.

The big news there is that he seems to be implying that U4 has the best boss fight. For as great as ND is, no one praises their boss fights. So it's definitely a big deal if they've finally figured out what's gone wrong in the past when it came to boss fights.

Yeah, I did something I've never done before. Collectors Edition. Pre ordered.

I think ND and this franchise deserve it. And if this one really is the last one, than what better way to send them off.

Developer saying his game has the best boss fight is not big news.

Bumbling NPC allies have long been troublesome for narrative-driven action games, but our hands-on with Uncharted 4 showed that Naughty Dog is one step closer to fixing that problem.

After deciding on an approach, I surreptitiously clamber around the side of a ruin and go in for a silent kill. After taking out one enemy, I am almost immediately spotted by another. I jump from the ledge and hide in the tall grass until the enemy's curiosity fades. Just as the wary merc thinks all is well he turns and is taken out by Sam (Nate's brother), who I didn't even see coming. This kind of interaction occurred at least three more times during my short hands-on session with Uncharted 4 and each time I let out a quiet "wow" of amazement. Somehow, Naughty Dog has managed to balance the AI of Uncharted's NPCs so that they effectively aid the player, but don't completely take over the show. You still feel in control of the action.

With those open levels I bet it's basically an old man sniper called The End that takes thirty minutes to complete. Or you can just stop playing for a week and let him die of old age.

Probably not to far from the truth...Given they are wrapping the series up, it's only fitting the finale would be a more fleshed out and thorough affair..

Crazy how much ND has actually expanded the franchise with this release. It's certainly not just more of exactly the same. Vehicle segments integral to the gameplay itself, rope swing and mobility mechanics, improved stealth, completely redesigned open sandbox esque level design, re-worked combat and gunplay and so on. They could have just made their lives easier and essentially replicated the exact design of past games in the franchise, but I feel they've done a huge amount to push the franchise forward in new ways. With that said, I hope the core linear set piece experiences do still exist, and are fairly plentiful.
