Fossas don't live in Africa no? certainly a leaopard even though the color was weird, but at closer distance I'm sure it will look more obvious.
As xenorevlis pointed out, fossas are endemic in Madagascar.

Anyone know if multiplayer online will support splitscreen? And singleplayer splitscreen?

So, do you folks think we'll face off against some of the wildlife?
No to both as far as we know. Why would you have splitscreen in singleplayer? It would ruin the game.

no, it would make the game better.
Boooo!!
Loved the beta! Would have been awesome to play couchcoop with a friend. Shame that a lot of the modern games seem to ditch this feature.

Notice how the explosion knocks the wooden beam off, even at such a distance.
Pretty sure the beam was knocked out by a shot.
They haven't gone into multiplayer details yet. We had co-op modes in 2 and 3, which I loved! Hoping that it makes a return, even if it's DLC (perhaps with the vehicles in mp update).
No leopards in Madagascar, but the Fossa (which is what I think is in the game) can hit 35mph
It's a story driven game.
you're allowed to have a story while playing with another player you know.
the story wouldn't change at all if another player could take control of sully during gameplay.

For those who normally pre-order from Amazon, how reliable they are at shipping the game so it gets there on day one?
I'm going to Florida the 11th and I want to make sure the game doesn't stay in the mailbox during the days I'm away. And if I can play some the 10th then gravy![]()
Pretty reliable. They were late with my copy of SFV, but that was the first time that has happened in the years I have been using Amazon.
What happens when Drake is on his own? The campaign was not designed for co-op.

What does Player 2 do when Sully dies mid-way through the game?

You never watched that Madagascar animated movie, bruh?Never even heard of the animal before, but that makes sense.

There are actually no wildcats in Madagascar. That was likely a Fossa or some such.

I don't think we'll be going back to the days of the original Tomb Raider games and have Drake mowing down wolves and panthers and stuff. I guess it could be interesting if he encountered some kind of large animal like a bear or an elephant or something and had to take it down or escape but again, not sure how willing they are to show drake unloading an entire AK into Dumbo's face.
I'd love to see something like a stampede though as a set piece that you actively have to navigate, sort of like the car chase demo they showed earlier but combined with that stampede segment in the first level of Sunset Riders

It turns into F.E.A.R. 3 and the 2nd player controls ghost sully who can float, move through solid objects and posses enemies and npcs to do his bidding.
I'm going to be playing this game forever just to get all the dialogue. A few things strike me about the way this game plays and what we've seen so far. There is clearly a bigger emphasis on stealth this time around so I'm guessing (and sort of hoping) we have access to stealth weapons like crossbows or guns with silencers. I'm also wondering if one of the reasons ND wouldn't allow people to access the menus is because you can upgrade your weapons. Another thing I'm wondering is whether we'll have to face some of the wildlife too.
It would be unfortunate to not have projectile or suppressed weapons in a more 'stealth driven' game. I mean, that would essentially limit the stealth gameplay to neck snapping or other takedowns, which could become a little redundant given the game's potential length.
Hmm. An upgrade system seems very unlikely, especially when you see how easily Nate swaps weapons in this game. Moreover, the weapons seem to have the same preset (no attachments whatsoever), and I haven't seen something in the game that could serve as upgrade points. It's not impossible though.
Facing animals is also unlikely IMO.

They fucked me on Uncharted 2 day one shipping so I never used them again. For those who normally pre-order from Amazon, how reliable they are at shipping the game so it gets there on day one?

I could see him facing less cuddly and cute animals like maybe Drake with a spear gun Vs a shark underwater or in a jungle Drake Vs a giant python or anaconda that constantly tries to wrap him up and crush him. Or they can just have more spiders like UC3 haha
If by redundant you mean, "doesn't trivialize the whole game", yes.
Yes it would. I'm really not going to have to explain, surely? Can't you just see why there's a problem or do you want ND to be useless like 99% of all the other devs when it comes to telling a story? Have you played TLOU? Can't you see how 'professional' ND are? You're asking for silliness and inconsistency.
What is this obsession with co-op? Why do people who want co-op want co-op in every single game. I buy UC games because they're single player and so do every single other person who plays UC.
What does Player 2 do when Sully dies mid-way through the game?
wow, you should be a politician with that non argument. lol
and if you wanted to play it single player, then having co-op wouldn't take that away. you'd just have teleporting, stomping feet dumb AI running around helping you instead of an actual thinking human being.
i mean, did gears of war stop having a single player story just because you COULD replace dumb ass dom with a person? no. granted the writing are worlds apart in regards to quality, but the inclusion of co-op wasn't why gears of wars story was dumb, it was that the writing itself was dumb. you can have great writing and have a friend along for the ride too. lol
Co op will most likely be like the last two games where its just a set of different missions in levels from the single player campaign that you get a vague story and short cut scenes giving you reason to travel through the environment and kill enemies.
i don't even think we're going to get that tbh. but i would be pleasantly surprised if we did. i liked it in the last games.

I chose the wrong word here, but yes. It would rapidly become repetitive, hence trivializing the stealth gameplay.

You know what would be awesome?
2 players online campaign solo/coop.
-Each get to play the main story as long as there's only character playable.
-When they reach a point where drake isn't alone, bam, coop. (The first one who got there spectated his buddy while waiting for him to catch up)
I know it won't happen but i'd be down for something like that.
Uh, no. Stealth melee is harder and requires more thought, awareness and positioning than headshotting everyone with a silenced pistol from a brush without a care in the world. That would trivialize stealth. If silenced weapons make their way in, I hope it'd be only in areas with an overwhelming amount of enemies, and with scarce amounts of ammo.
