And that's how it would essentially work! Without the reordering and whatnot. Either play out the set pieces, cut scenes, whatever like you were playing a single player game, or just completely skip them, and whenever you get to a combat section, in comes player two. There, coop campaign.
Well, I suppose it's a stretch to call it coop campaign, if either you're skipping the story and most/all of the set piece stuff or the other player is present for maybe a third of the game, but I was essentially saying that combat parts could be playable with multiple players. Clearly they are, if it has been done before, albeit with tweaks.

Point is, and has been from the beginning, that you would only have two players during these combat parts.
