That falls under "would you do whatever it takes to win a championship?"
As much as you don't personally like it, flopping is a viable strategy that can be used to work the refs and make calls in your favor. It can be the difference between a win and a loss. Yes, it's a sad truth of the league, but it isn't Lebron's fault. He's above "oh I'm not gonna flop because I'm scared of what people might think of me" because he wants to win. Change the way games are refereed and the flopping will stop.
Look at the tremendous amount of wins under his belt throughout his entire career, look at his output, he is the best in the league. His teams just suck ass. But that's not his fault, he made rational decisions that any person would have made in his position.
Why would you intentionally choose to play in a more difficult conference? Just to appease people? Yeah, Lebron's finals record isn't that great, but at least he's had opportunities to win rings. He could have made it to the finals only once in the western conference and only won a single ring throughout his entire career. Is that somehow better because his record is 1-1? Would people respect him more?
Also, if you had a pool of players to select from or that you could choose to play with, why would you not choose the best of the best? The all stars? The players that will give you the best CHANCE at winning a title at that moment in time? Do you think Lebron should have picked a bunch of nobodies or patiently let his team be built through the draft just so that maybe it will work out and maybe he will get an opportunity at a ring and MAYBE people will respect him more for it? No, he doesn't care, because he is gonna weigh the options and make the best decision at that time that prsents the highest chance at a ring. Yeah, it didn't work out like he planned, but that's luck of the draw. He still made the right decisions to even put himself in that position to win.
