I don't know where, like there is a sizeable Japanese community in Düsseldorf (1h away from Cologne) sure but how the fuck am I supposed to approach that kind of stuff. I'm by far not that self-confident. My department at the university shares the premises with the Japanese focused department but there aren't that many actual Japanese people there, I could also try to enlist into their language partner program but I think it's exclusive for those already learning Japanese.
