Star Wars: Rogue One Story Trailer

Exactly. So far, Kylo has been the anti-Vader in every regard. Let's keep it that way. Instead of redeeming himself, he falls further into darkness and becomes totally unhinged. One of things highlighted in the art book about Snoke is they wanted him to look like a creature who would've been quite handsome before being corrupted by the dark side.

Now with that nasty scar across his face, imagine Kylo's appearance deteriorating as he becomes more and more consumed by the dark side?

This is reminding me of that early scene in the film where Rey is cleaning her catches for the day and looks across at the old woman doing the same thing.

I like this theory a lot and it falls pretty well in line with the Empire's plans of being obsessed with super weapons and also using the weapon as Rebel bait.

I really hope Kylo's story goes further down a path of being so obsessed with eclipsing Vader that he ends up becoming more dangerous and wild than Vader while also simultaneously being ignorant to the fact that he may have actually surpassed Vader already. Have Ren off Snoke in the next movie, take over the First Order, and have him go on a ruthless killing spree across worlds trying to find Luke and Rey.

I'm thinking Snoke will stick around until EP9. Kylo still has to be fully trained by him, which, IMO, will consist of a thorough ass beating/torture as punishment for allowing himself to be outdone by Rey and unable to eradicate the light left over from killing Han (remorse, regret). He'll be brutally beaten into submission and his training will be completed. He'll be driven further into the Dark Side which will fully consume him in this movie and EP9. I think Snoke won't be done until the final film, if he dies at all.

Recording takes place 1-2 months before release.

Oops I forgot it's that close to release.

The Vader tease is so pointless.

How so?

Looks like Tony Gilroy is now credited as screenwriter alongside Chris Weitz. We knew he was writing some additional dialogue but I guess it was substantial enough to be credited.

Lol, the fucking MRAs are already infesting the comment section
"HOW DARE A STAR WARS MOVIE HAVE A FEMALE LEAD"

"2 OUT OF 8 STAR WARS MOVIES NOW HAVE FEMALE LEADS"

"I HATE THESE STRONG FEMALE CHARACTERS"

"THE FEMINISTS HAVE TAKEN OVER"

"I'M A FUCKING IDIOT"

Youtube's refuse can go blow itself.

Really fantastic trailer and, from what I can see, great casting. The female lead looks complex and exotic and the male seems to be a soft-spoken departure from traditional Star Wars heroes

Plus the last king of Scotland.

Can't wait

John Knoll? That John Knoll? What the what?

I'm all for female leads. The Star Wars universe is comprised of a few great female characters. Rey was the best part about FA.

But... still not feeling Felicity here. The lack of chemistry between her and [rebellion recruiter guy, forget his name] when they're piloting in the ship is jarring.

I love Ridley. But yeah from what we've seen of Jones, they don't appear to be utilizing her talents (of course, these are just trailers, so we'll have to see what the end product is). I'm just getting "I'm a badass street smart action star with clever one liners" instead of anything meaningful and worthwhile for her character. Hopefully that changes in the film itself. Not feeling her vibe. The only thing I've enjoyed from her thus far is her delivery of "May the Force be with us" in the celebration reel. I want more of THAT. Lots of dialogue she's been given has been really bad though.

Plot looks like shit but even mediocre Star Wars is fun, so I guess I'll go see it.

So serious looking though. Lighten up!

This is supposed to be a gritty war story in the SW universe with the mission probably ending in the entire team's death. I think K2 will provide some humour but it shouldn't be as cheery as TFA.

Not much I can say that hasn't been said already. Looks awesome.

The final 15 minutes of this movie absolutely needs to be Darth Vader going full Jason Vorhees-tier movie monster and just slaughtering everyone like an indestructible force. Everyone's trapped in the bowels of a fucking Star Destroyer in the dark, all you hear is Vader breathing and the only thing you see is his lightsaber ignite moments before he offs another member of the rebel scum.
This would be incredible. Go all out with it.

Just.. as long as they don't go a little too far in a few places. This could get into silly fan fic territory REAL fast if not handled with care. Hope the action with Vader is grounded and physical, like the saber fights in TFA. Weighted, not light fluff.

As someone who is not really a fan of Star Wars, I have to say the designs and world building and overall look of the franchise is just top notch.

This movie looks gorgeous.

Very true.

I think people need to adjust their expectations accordingly. Vader has not been advertised to be the main villain in this movie at all. It's Krennic and the Imperial army. We'll be lucky to even get a single action scene from Vader in this movie. All we know is, he makes an appearance. I'd say his involvement in this movie's events are as an observer, and that he doesn't actually get up to do anything until someone fails at their job.

I'm keeping my expectations low but if this is supposed to directly lead into Episode 4 then we should logically get a pretty pissed off zero fucks given Vader at the end here. He was the one charged with getting the Death Star plans back plus Vader offing the main cast of Rogue One is a logical explanation for those characters never showing up in the OT.

Plus Vader needs a moment like this to wipe the stink of the prequels away from his image

I hope it's just the editing but yea there was zero chemistry there.

Ah legit didn't know that. I just expect a certain tone with Star Wars, I guess. Either way I'm probably in unless it reviews terribly! Like I said even mediocre Star Wars is still decent fun.

The scenery in the trailer looked totally amazing. Loving that city.
