I need 1 dock and 2 tablets. Trust I won't be they only one either. The dock will have "guts" that I just won't need. I also think that the portable crowd won't need the dock at first either.
This console is the very definition of optionallity. Modules for controllers, selfie sticks, docks and Lord knows what else.
I hope the Switch comes out in late 2017,
I think they'd look great if they did:
handheld alone for $199 (for the handheld audience, prices it below 3DS when it launched)
handheld+dock for $249 (for the console audience, prices it below the Wii U AND below the PS4/Xbone currently)
handheld+dock+pro controller+zelda+other goodies (Zelda VC games, special gold console, whatever extra cool shit) for $299 or maybe $349. basically for the hardcores who want to give Nintendo money.
Nintendo being Nintendo, though, I expect to be stubborn and refuse to sell it without the dock. Even though you can get the full experience just with the handheld, or just with the tv...
Yeah, how can it be the Switch if you can't actually switch?Absolutely, it will. Not including the dock would be antithetical to the system's purpose.
I like it, but why not just NS?
LmaooooWhat the shit?
I thought you mentioned you were done with that "shit company" because the Switch does not support DVD?
???????????????????
Absolutely, it will. Not including the dock would be antithetical to the system's purpose.
Switch kinda has to come with the dock, I'd think.
So get a 64 GB SD card for $10, upgrade it for double the capacity at the same price each year. Extra storage is cheap, and those who need it can get it.
Let me guess, no optical...
Shit. That's a huge negative for me. I only get my sound via optical.
Why are we not calling it the NS?
Also, any confirmed motion tech on the controllers? The trailer didn't have any wii sports-ish games, and I'm hoping it does.
Maybe he has a family account and one of his kids was angry about no DVD.Lmaoooo
I thought you must be mistaken. But nope, same guy. Just a few posts apart too. Lol
Because the X makes it sound cool and mysteriousWhy are we not calling it the NS?
I assume all chance of 3DS and Wii U games being playable is out the window right? At least until they transition to "virtual console" status
They'll need to do an entry cost level version though.
When Pokémon comes out, if it's like $250/$300 still, then that's going to seriously dent their most popular franchise.
I fully expect a portable only version, smaller, perhaps with a dock that can be purchased if necessary
Lmaoooo
I thought you must be mistaken. But nope, same guy. Just a few posts apart too. Lol
What?I'm so disappointment by the name. Probably the worst console name of all time.
I hope it does well.
Holy shit LOLWhat the shit?
I thought you mentioned you were done with that "shit company" because the Switch does not support DVD?
???????????????????
I think you've forgotten the name Wii U.I'm so disappointment by the name. Probably the worst console name of all time.
Makes sense to me but they'd have to be very careful communicating that to customers through the packaging. Defeats the purpose of the Switch name though...
Might not be worth the headache after Wii U.
The middle attachment has to come with the any version of the console. Or else it's just portable. I don't think people are going to be cool with just using two detached controllers in most cases.
Anyway i'll stop there but in a sense, what i'm saying is, in my opinion this thing can find a way to a success, probably more than the WiiU in its time, cause the concept is just more modern and unique, but it also have all the little seeds for absolute failure. This is a risky move for Nintendo.
Sorry if I'm late with this, but Laura Kate Dale is saying that the dock will have additional processing power. As such, Laura said to expect it to take a few seconds for the Switch to, well, switch to the TV when docked.
I know I was one of the pushers of the hybrid theory, but in all honesty, my prediction was more a powerful DS with TV play.
This is a WiiU with the off TV play working anywhere. So instead of leveraging their successful console line, they're leveraging the most unsuccessful console line. Not sure how that'll play out.
The reason there won't be a built in hard drive is the same reason it's not optical media.
Too many moving parts, could break easily if having a shock impact
That's a given. It would fly in the face of it being a portable if this wasn't the case.i hope you can charge the tablet outside of the dock
