Mass Effect 2/3 now Backward Compatible on Xbox One

My XBO is telling me that I have 16 pieces of DLC to download for both ME2 and ME3, so 32 overall. Those weapon packs and appearance packs are adding up I see. I bought every single one of those fuckers.

I ain't complaining, getting to use the Mattock in ME2 and the Harrier in ME3 again is more than worth it. £1.29 well spent.

EDIT:Holy shit, I just remembered that my character is a Vanguard, so no Assault Rifles for me lmao

Ah well, the Eviscerator will have to do in ME2. That gun came with the Cerberus weapon pack iirc.

All ME games being BC is great - but them being in EA Access is even better news (considering I only bought 1, and never played 2-3)!!

Fem shep is the best shep

I used to feel that way but I've kind of turned on FemShep a bit after my last playthrough. I think it's time to do another BroShep playthrough, to see if I keep this stance. My issue with FemShep is mostly with her ME3 performances (and ME2 to a much lesser extent).
Maybe it was just the choices I was making (mostly Renegade) but Jennifer Hale seemingly adopted a Christian Bale-Batman cartoon-ish growl to her voice in ME3. I never really noticed it in previous playthroughs but in ME3 in particular FemShep seemingly has this put-on cartoony growl to her voice that just really bothered me. KEEP IN MIND this is just my opinion!

Either way, it's been an eternity since I played through as BroShep, so I'm looking forward to digging through the series again. The last playthrough I did was on PC. I'll definitely miss the PC version of ME1 in particular. On top of that version just looking and running very noticeably better, ME1 really feels like it was made with a mouse and keyboard in mind. Also, the menus in the PC version are about 10x better than the menus in the 360/PS3 versions.
Having said that, I'm looking forward to playing on console as the PC versions of each of these games not only have a ton of lingering issues/glitches but also don't seem to love Windows 10. I was kind of surprised by how much of a mess the PC version of ME3 was.

It's pretty awesome to be able to play all of Mass Effect on XB1 now and the soon to be released Andromeda as well.

MS getting BC to work was just 👌

I loaded up the Citadel and it ran like garbage. I then loaded up the save on my 360 and it ran the same. I don't remember it running so poorly, but at least it doesn't seem to be worse on XB1.

At first I was like "Damn where did I put my Mass Effect discs?" Then I remembered I have EA Access. This service and this BC thing... god damn MS have turned things around.

Any info on the improvements, if any, we will see in the BC versions?

I haven't touched or really followed BC since it was in beta and Mass Effect 1 was the only game that worked. It was janky.

That was really one of the first games indeed. They updated it later.
And lately all BC versions are really solid and ran better then the 360 versions. Vsync is also always enabled so no screen tear.

Stellar.

Been meaning to go back to play through some BC titles, and now I have to decide between RDR and the ME Trilogy.

I only played digital games on BC and I have no clue how this works with 2 discs. Can anyone fill me in? Thanks in advance and sorry if this was already asked.

Do you need to install both discs?
Do you still need to switch the discs, when the game asks you to do so?

Far out, EA Access once again proving to be the GOAT!
Seriously cannot believe how much value i have gotten out of this, its incredible.

Do I need a credit card for the EA access games? Because I know that you can't actually get the free 360 games on Games with Gold unless you hook a CC to your account.

But anyways this is hype, with Andromeda you can play all the ME games on XB1, although PC can already do that lol but I'm happy since I don't have a gaming PC.

No just put in disc 1 and it downloads a digital version. After that disc 1 is just your license to play the game. No swapping needed.

You can use a Visa Debit card, so no credit card involved, thats what I do anyways.

I lost all my ME savefiles, but damn. I wanted to replay this.

Now to wait for the ME3 DLC to go on sale :(

So I've never checked this with Lost Odyssey and am at work at the moment but does the one disc you put in HAVE to be disc 1?

Spencer did sat there's a bit more work to be done for Digital purchases of multi disk games, but we will not have to wait too long. this was mentioned in the Blue Dragon BC thread

i think BD and LO is going to take some licensing work or something
it was never on the store page before so...

 i'll quad dip

Great, so happy to not have those hold off in favor of a shitty remaster! Specially after that declaration from EA.

Way to go EA!

Welp, this convinced me to get EA Access so I don't need to deal with disc swapping.

A remaster of the trilogy isn't off the tables.

Downloaded ME2 "just to check it out." Played for 15 minutes. Realized I should have just downloaded 1 first because now I just want to play the whole series again.

Haven't played ME1 since it first came out and I barely remember anything about it.

Definitely using my Xbox way more than my PS4 these days.

So I'm not sure if this is a known issue with backwards compatibility in general or what, but when I try to load ME3, the screen goes black after the xbox 360 logo. I've tried restarting my console and the game multiple times. Anyone seen this before?

Edit: Yanked the power cord out, hard reset squared it away.

Dug my old 360 S out of storage and hooked it up to upload my old saves.

I never went though all the DLC.

I might play through the entire trilogy on PC 4K60 at some point, but I have too much on my plate right now to play through it all from scratch.

Still terrible we aren't getting a remaster...

Was thinking of buying 2 and 3 next week, but now I might just get EA access for a month and ser how it goes.

Do I need Gold for EA access? My sub just run out last week.
