Do korok leaves and bows break? I'm wondering if there's any reason to carry more than one of them.

They both break, but the Korok Leaf will never break if you just use it to blow shit around.

Bows, however break all the damn time :lol

So I just realized...
statis can also freeze monsters. Dunno if it's the regular or because I'm already using the upgraded one.

Game changer. Now those Wizzrobes can no longer escape lol.

I wish one handed weapons were more common. Seems like everything I get is two handed, making my nice shield (that some how hasn't broken in in almost 10 hours?) useless. Also I don't like using the two handed weapons, they feel so slow.

on one hand i really want to discover things by myself..on the other i really wanna know where the korok woods/forest is because i need space in my inventory :(

Yesterday was good. Started wishing I had the other 2 pieces of the climbing gear set and just randomly happened on them when I decided to go for a far off shrine and quest shrine.
Then I stayed up to 6 fucking AM when I ended up on an island that took all my gear and I couldn't save on.
Yay 3 hours of sleep.

Something good and bad though is how good the armor is for different situations. Stealth set letting me just run up to things like I was sneaking around makes me want to wear it 24/7, but then how often I'm just climbing around makes me want to do the same with the climbing gear.

Yoooo the guardian shield.
I didn't realize it reflex the guardians lasers.
That is super cool!

Don't know about that shield, but all of them will with a parry. Right back to their dumb little eyes.

Are spears just underpowered in general in terms of raw attack? It feels like all of the ones I'm getting are really low in that regard. I got a spear from a black Moblin and it only had a power of 6, and I got a guardian spear which had half of the power of a guardian sword.

Are there good spears in the game, or is this just how they balance out the long reach of them? I love using them, but some of them break so fast with how many hits they need to kill enemies.

Just remembered the upgraded stasis had that ability last night, so helpful against Lynels.

Same same, I immensly perfer one-handed weapons but keep finding two-handers.

It's nice though because it makes me change strategy all the time.

It has to be upgraded.

I like spears because of how quickly you can strike, but they are underpowered.

I have it. I mean the main use it I have for it is when information isn't readily available and to have the huge map with korok seeds and shrines handy dandy. Not to mention tips on side quests and quick images on solutions to shrines if you can't figure it out. There's no guarantee every website has all of the information so it's nice for that regard.

It has food recipees too so I can see which ones are worth making with what I have

Sweet thanks, for 20 bucks I just grabbed it.

I have like three Knight's Broadswords. You'll get more later on.

I also like spears because of the range and fast animation.

Can anyone give me a very small small small hint on Farosh's Scale?
I've tried following the river and the dragon heads and the way the goddess statue is facing but can't find any golden spirit

The smallest/cryptic tip is appreciated.

Hit it. You can use updrafts it creates to reach it.

Where you hit it determines what drops, body shots should drop scales, there are four different drops.

For some reason now everytime I knock a Moblin off its feet my game freezes for a full second. It's annoying, I am in the Death mountain area so maybe it's limited to some areas ? I'm on WiiU.

In my experience if you're not enjoying a part of this game you should leave and do something else until you've got different/better gear

That's good advice, and something I did when I got stuck at a certain point.
Erm it has nothing to do with gear. I already have that gear you are suggesting about.

I am talking about a certain section there that leads to a dungeon, for all other 3 dungeon it was good and fun, this one was just boring and annoying.

What do you guys do when you're out of weapons? Do you just go off exploring, find more enemies and take their shit or is there a more efficient way? My weapons keep breaking on
Waterblight Ganon
boss. The durability system doesn't bother me in general but I think everything breaks too fast and arrows are expensive as fuck. At least for me. I don't have a lot of rupees (I think 1,007 was my last count) but I don't want to spend a lot on arrows.

Yeah I agree so far everything I've found break way too fast. I have two katana with 32 Attack Power and I'm scared to use them.

You'll get more cool shit. Don't hesitate to use them.

Try a lvl 3 spear charge attack and marvel at the attack speed.

it's called item management..if things didn't break,or you were never in danger to stay without good equipment if you don't play it smart,3/4 of the loot would be useless..you would find the one good weapon and stick with it

Right, I think it's my only real problem so far. Again I don't mind that they can break, but I get like... less than 20 hits on something and it's broke as fuck. I'll get some badass looking spear and I treat it like a national treasure. The thing is that the weapons breaking like that isn't realistic in the least bit. Souls also has weapon durability but it takes a very long time for them to break and you can have them repaired for a cheap amount of souls. When your shit breaks in this game and it breaks fast you have to scour for a replacement and I think that's kind of shitty.

If weapons weren't so mind-bogglingly fragile none of this would be an issue whatsoever. In Souls it's a brief annoyance, in Zelda it can really slow things down. I'm sure I'll find better shit later though.

Oh man! At the first stable, I was hanging out with the dog, and
after giving him 3 treats he led me to a treasure chest. That is adorable!

I really love how the npcs hit the road and do their own thing. Really makes the populated areas feel alive.

I also found a blue (?) horse to tame, but he threw me off immediately. I'll have to come back with some upgrades.

This game is dangerous to boot up on a weeknight. A few hours go by in a flash.

I have like three Knight's Broadswords. You'll get more later on.

I also like spears because of the range and fast animation.

I went through a good portion of Hyrule Castle and all I found were top tier two handed weapons and some dumb electro sword that is semi-regular drop in Gerudo Desert and breaks almost instantly.

I also have this pretty awesome one handed Sheikah sword with excellent stats, but I don't want to use it because I have no idea where to ever find another one since it was a shrine chest and I've never seen any others at all.

Lizafos four pronged boomerangs have been working pretty good for me. Pretty easy to find, reliable, decent damage, don't break that easily.

So I am casually walking in the Akkala region, and all of a sudden a fucking
red dragon is just chilling in the sky. I took several pictures, and evrn though it has a different name, it closely resembles Volvagia!

If you don't have arrows and can't get them then you'll have to do it the hard way and get better at dodging for flurry strike.

1007 rupee isn't a lot of rupee? I'm way way further than you and I have like 200 lol.

Yeah I agree so far everything I've found break way too fast. I have two katana with 32 Attack Power and I'm scared to use them.

I went to Eventide Island and found weapons zen there. After that no weapon holds a special place in my heart anymore.

As you progress you find enough cool shit that the 32 AP katana ain't shit anyway and breaking weapons on the face of enemies is the most satisfying animation in a game ever.

Goddamnit I want to play this and would buy a Switch if I could find one.

I'm already tired of Horizon's typical open world boredom.

My son has far sharper eyes than I do. I climbed down a gap between a path and a wall in Hyrule Castle so as to avoid
detection by flying Guardians
, and while I was spinning the camera he saw a chest, underwater, that was pretty far below me.

I'm the exploring type, but that's just one example, of many, that my son has really helped me.. It's tough to play for a 7 year old obviously, but he really enjoys watching, and he's been hype for the game for as long as I have.

It feels like I'm about to really pass it on, too.

How do you make the dungeon bosses hard? They're really easy if you have like 10 bomb arrows.

I think it's part of Zelda identity that the right item will make x enemy's difficulty much lower, I think it's cool, makes you think aboit your options, even more in this game.

I think relative to how much things cost in the game that it's not that much. I have that much because I found a gold and silver rupee, and sold some stuff. But there's a
Horse God fairy that you can spend 1,000 rupees on that will give you the ability to resurrect horses, buying Link's house is 3,000, the armor is very costly, etc
. I guess it's a good amount for general spending, but still.

You can kill that boss with a few headshots and slashes with a moderate bow and two-hander. It took me about two minutes. Hope the other bosses pose more of a challenge.

Also every arrow you shoot, you can pick up again.

What an amazing game. Not even following the critical path at the moment. I'm just exploring.

I was never a big fan of massive open worlds, but this game handles it beautifully and really rewards exploring.

Wait until you get to the
fourth Great Fairy
. A cool
10,000 Rupees
.

They're also amazing for using as a charge stamina attack. So yeah, I think it's intentional balancing.

I love them. My favourite weapon type. Besides bows...
