this is so frustrating. they need to stop treating video games like state secrets. these are just toys. ive never seen so much secrecy in ANY entertainment industry.
 
So something in HTML source code? I haven't looked, I need to do some more work today sadly....

This shit happens all the time in the electronics entertainment industry, what are you on about? Apple is one of the most well known contributors to this style of secrecy.
 
I concur with most of the people in here, I need to know what the plastic box I'm going to buy at the end of the year looks like RIGHT NOW, otherwise I won't buy it.

Apple also reveals new products every year. people know exactly when their new products will be revealed and released. there is no uncertainty with their products.

Sony hasnt held an event in 2 years. they wont even give a date.
 
Can't seem to get the registration to work. Keeps saying the verification is invalid, even though its just a reCaptcha. Its also for Europe, but e-mail addresses are e-mail addresses. I wonder if they're getting a lot of traffic.

What upgrades with the product have? What is its form factor? Its price? What is its look? Its design? What are its specs? What new technology will be introduced or removed?

You are objectively wrong that there isn't any uncertainty with their products.

If I seeing right the registration is no longer available. My brother almost don't get registration because of the flux.

I meant uncertainty with the reveal cycle of their products. You know you are getting a new revision every year. you know the month. you know the release date.

Apple is secretive, but they have a set schedule and their fans are never uncertain about their product reveal cycles. Sony's PR, messaging and communication has been piss poor for close to two years now.
 
The longer it takes the better for Sony.
Sony still has a lot of exclusives coming for PS4, so probably they fear a PS5 reveal will take some steam off PS4 software sales.
Ghost of Tsushima, FFVII R and TLOU2 are on their way very soon.
i predict a full reveal near E3 or even Gamescon, not sooner. Maybe only the controller, like it happened with PS4 in 2013

Well, but they already announce it, even a time-frame, so this is really not the good approach to this. And moreso if complete BC with PS4 is true.

Its not exactly an announcement. They have just acknownledged that it exists. It will be very different when we know shape, price, specs and trailers of games

That I can completely agree with if you take it back to 2016. Ever since they moved HQ, they had their head stuck up their own arse.

Yeah well, but common sense, is that PS5 will be better than PS4. And that PS5 came out in holiday 2020. But I don't think that changes anything, since I remember The Last of US on may 2013, nobody cared about PS4 when that came out. So I am not sure why the secrecy (that goes for XSX too), since silicion must be set already. Maybe RAM could vary, but some teaser, about what is set in stone, would be nice. I think they easily can get away with "super high speed RAM" without sayin how they have it in their machine.

But all in all, we can wait : )
 
I think we just need to drop the notion that there's gonna be a February reveal. Could be any time from now until summer, which is fine really. It's just the expectation that's working people up.

What's working people up is their own impatience.

Protip: none of you can buy this box until the end of the year regardless of when Sony show it to you, and most of you are probably going to buy it regardless of what they do show.

No, but it would be nice to be amongs the first to pre-order so you're guaranteed to get it day 1.

You'll still be able to do that. Being able to do that in July is no different to doing it in February. People are just overly thirsty for the next thing even though the PS4 still has a slew of heavy-hitters yet to release.

True and it's not like I'm forgetting about those. I just don't like waiting, especially when I'n thirsty.
 
Seems like they're content to push it to the limit.

Jun is the latest they can announce and then put the preorders up. They need some time to know the allocations per region.
