So every console is supplied contained so that's why XSX (because we have tons of them sitting on the shelves right?) took the top spot? Jesus gaf, you are better than this.

well if ms can gain momentum and gain ground with the cod/fifa/gta crowd they can gain ground against sony, if they could shift the tide of those 3 in their favor they can succeed.

Not much to worry about since likely they're only playing FIFA

...that's a joke

But also not reading much in to headlines like this since supply is spotty. I'd give it a year before you can really read in to the numbers.

Can you play PlayStation games on your xbox?

Oh so now exclusives matter?

At this stage of the generation the games are mostly the same. If you want a new console to play COD/FIFA (2 best sellers in the UK) and there's only one choice available then you'll get that.

Your analogy was pants.

not entirely wrong either though, fifa/cod/gta momentum is the most important thing in the UK/Europe

Wait now when xbox is selling more stock levels matter? Didn't seem to matter in the ps5 is outselling xbox globally thread.....lol

Lol at people saying the reason is PS5 shortage. The Xbox S/X are just as hard to get hold of.

I'm in the UK and have been trying to get a PS5 or Xbox since launch and it's nigh on impossible.

Congrats to Microsoft, competition is always good for all gamers, and push all Companies to do better and offer more to their gamers.

It is true, there is PS5 and Switch shortage, but still you might wait for them to be available instead of buying a console you don't like or it's not for you. So basicly it a good sign anyway for Microsoft.

Just getting the gif ready before the forum mafia enter the thread -

:messenger_tears_of_joy:

It's a funny post and it will be even funnier if people actually argue about sales numbers right now. For the foreseeable future sales numbers mean nothing more, nor less, than how many consoles were shipped by company A or B, to country x, y, or z.

At this point we're comparing their manufacturing process and success of securing component supplies. Applies to every month from launch to bad weekly sales in Japan to this XSX-winning Jan 2021 up til the wonderful day when consoles are actually sitting globally on the shelves.

But X|S is two consoles 🤔

Does anybody else remember when Sony reported "Playstation family" sales instead of PS3 sales and got absolutely pilloried for it?

well at this point getting stock is the important thing, obviously many users will be happy with ps5 or xbox sx, gaining momentum now with the casuals is crucial to getting that cod/fifa/gta in UK/EU and the cod/madden/nba/gta audience in the US. So you ever has the most stock will take the wins at the moment, but these early wins can shift the market.

Yes, it's the same as Switch and Switch Lite
Playstation family was different platforms of different generations.

Not really similar.

According to that website Xbox, PS5 and Switch are all available.
The opposite.

It shows there is no retail with Switch in stock.
It shows there is no retail with PS5 in stock.
It shows there is no retail with Series X in stock.

I won't bother to create an account to check Series S.
