Why not? It's Wrestlemania weekend. All eyes are on wrestling(at least those that still watch) It's been common practice for years for other promotions to also run shows alongside Wrestlemania.
I guess I'm not so much of a wrestling fan that I'd want to watch 3 hours of wrestling to warm up for Wrestlemania night 1, especially since there' a second night of wrestlemania.

Fair enough. I can't even be bothered to watch WrestleMania at all these days because of the time commitment and I generally dislike WWE and refuse to support them. I just watch clips at this point. I couldn't even tell you the last full event I watched by any company lol.

Ric Flair won the 1992 Royal Rumble, as we know. If you could book an alternate winner, who and why? What plans would you have for them? Would you put the title on an established top guy or would you put it on someone midcard (or lower) and build them up? And i'm only talking people who were actually in the Rumble match. Which means no Bret Hart, Marty Jannetty, etc

PWInsider.com has confirmed with several sources that MLW has recently been in discussions with Discovery, who had a short relationship with Impact Wrestling a few years ago when that company aired on Destination America. With Discovery's launch of their new streaming service Discovery+ (which is an EXCELLENT service) at the onset of 2021, they have been very aggressive and hungry at acquiring new content, including a number of ViceTV properties such as Dark Side of the Ring.
If MLW can lock in a deal there, it's a huge block of cable networks as well as the streaming service that MLW-related programming could sit upon as the Discovery flagship network and Investigation Discovery hit in the area of 96 million homes. Discovery also owns DSports, which internationally has a strong footprint in a number of countries as a sports network.
Discovery was among the entities that had discussions with WWE last year when the company was exploring the future of the WWE Network. They broadcast Impact Wrestling on Destination America for about a year, but when relations between the sides soured, Discovery added Ring of Honor to the network on the same night, which only diluted Impact's audience. When Impact did not hit a contractually required number that would have triggered an additional two years on Discovery, they exited the network. Destination America is said to be slated for a massive rebranding, so it would not appear that would be landing point for MLW, should they lock in a deal with Discovery.

Joe still has relevance, and it would be a much, much better pick up than Christian.
I don't like saying negative things about Christian because he was 1/2 of a legendary tag team and I was a big fan. But man, his first AEW entrance was the first time I felt a TNA vibe while watching AEW.

I'd argue it's worse. Christian still had a lot to give when TNA got him. He was still young and was arguably in his prime.
Joe will find work somewhere. Once again though fuck WWE. Record breaking profits again and you release people?

I kid, but good for her and Peyton. I think they will both find a home in AEW, well at least Peyton, and like Tay Conti she will be a star there sooner rather then later.

I'd love if AEW could scoop up Chelsea too, but I think she has too many ties to Impact to end up in AEW. They may be better off with just Peyton in the long run so she doesn't get stuck in a team with Billie again if she wants a true singles run. Billie could have a fun little NWA run too, she's got range as a character. I'm ready for Peyton to get a real chance to stand out. Britt is in trouble cause everything she can do I think Peyton has the potential to do it better, but anything to not ever have to see Big Swole or Jade Cargill on my TV again would be good so bring on the Aussies

Bea and Sadie need to come back to AEW and get impact Into it somehow. Do it. Honestly very few women's matches in AEW hold my attention.

What's even more baffling is that after WWE broke up The IIconics, both members were frequently placed in tag team matches (with different teammates) anyway, instead of being pushed as singles competitors.

Yeah sort of. This one is more positive though and doesn't really hurt WWE, where the Foley spoiler/diss on Nitro was a big fuck up for WCW.
