We can only speak for what the game is now (i know i did it for hd2, but that one already had his share of success, it's already a successful game even if it fail tomorrow)
Hd2 didn't needed any rehaul to be successful, it was immediately palatable.

Nope because we are talking about a game that is not released yet and people should be fucking curious to try it when it's fucking gratis and another game that already had his share of success and it's not the hottest new shit anymore.
There is a big difference between concord doing shit numbers and hd2 not having 200.000 players anymore after months of success and after having 1000% more success than anyone expected.
One look like a certified bomba, the other look like what happen to most gaas games, even the great ones.

Played 30 mins on steam. Runs ok so thats the only good thing. The gameplay tho? Lmfao heroe abilities are made for team play yet the entire game and map design is ANYTHING BUT TEAMPLAY. Everyone is 1v1'ing and essentially all the assassin heroes are destroying everyone. Character designs are horrible as shit. Ive never seen such garbage designs in my entire life. Even f2p you'd have to suck my balls dry to make me play this.

That was my first impression last weekend. It does get a bit better the more you play but the maps are boring as shit and its ridiculously unbalanced.
Its either steamroll or be steamrolled and with no penalty quitters and no squad fill (at least i never did with me) its a fairly miserable experience. Every now and again you get half decent match, but they few and far between.
I can imagine with 2 full parties with everyone knowing what's what this would play pretty good after a load of tweaks. But in the wild thats not how 90% of the community plays.
Entirely forgettable.

To fix wonky lobbies in any shooter, it's such an easy fix
- Punish quitters with losses and bans if they quit too much. Even COD does this (at least so I heard since I never quit enough to ever get banned)
- Fill in teams with join-in-progress gamers
- Nobody likes joining a losing team (that's why there was a hole to plug as gamers already quit that team), so just dont count any losses if you join a match on progress. Again COD does this. Long time ago, you'd get the loss, but not now

During the PS4 and PS3 days, we got 2 or 3 sequels per generation of games. Now we getting shit ( where is the naughty dog game since 2020 ? )
A single-player game doesn't have to be super expensive for me to enjoy it. Steller Blade was fun and looked awesome and it's not even close to the development cost of any of Sony running by woke team studios.
This isn't for Sony. MS is in the same boat. All Western devs are like that. I will not pay Sony the money to hire these idiots as an excuse the development cost is too high.
This game is a copycat from games that were released 10 years ago with so off and ugly to even look at characters that even a trailer that is supposed to hype the game up is complete shit in my eyes.

During the 360/PS3 gen, we'd get rock solid sequels every 2-3 years for SP games. Even for shooter games you'd get sequels frequently too. Not annualized like COD, but again every 2-3 years you'd get another solid game with SP and MP modes.

Going by HD2 breakdown of PS vs PC numbers, that seems extremely unlikely.
FFXIV is actually a good analogy, as that's what they need to do to fix the game. Shut it down and work for a year to completely overhaul it.
I just don't see that sort of willingness to do this with Sony's current leadership. They are too oriented to Quarter on Quarter products vs long term.

Lots of misleading stuff here. Any money paid to consultants would be a very small fraction of the total budget. Most cost goes to dev salaries, with tools, software license etc taking up the rest.
Many Asian studios pay lower salaries on average, and demand longer work hours.

No serious studio is hiring devs who can't do the job. Merely using UE5 isn't enough to eliminate the bulk of dev costs. That's as silly as arguing that Horizon Forbidden West should have been made for cheap since Guerilla owns the engine.
Concord seems to be struggling because they've made bets that didn't pan out. From most indications, the gameplay itself is quite good. If it doesn't do enough to stand out from the F2P giants, that's a different discussion entirely.

We know for a fact that's happening in many studios. Amateur-level writers and designers are all over the place. It's a shame that awful artistic decisions, from characters to levels, sabotage a technically good game. Those artists are unfit to do their job, they fail to understand the potential demographics that would buy their game.
It's useless to make a polished game with great graphics if there's nothing appealing in them. The gameplay should be revolutionary so that word of mouth makes up for its first mid impression.
I don't understand why they made the movement so slow and floaty. In my opinion it doesn't suit the game at all. All in all, I don't think it's terrible, but it also isn't great by any means. I see no way it's going to survive with so many other FPS games being popular nowadays. If anything, it made me want to play Overwatch again.

It was ok, it feels competently made with good performance and pretty good graphics. The gameplay from what I played was fine, the gunplay is solid and the movement is good if a tad too slow (also the TTK is a bit too high IMO).
It's just that, as someone who is only casually into these games, I didn't get why I'd pick this up instead of just playing Overwatch 2, if anything I like the maps, characters and flow of gameplay better in Overwatch

So, out of all who played it ~31% didn't like it and ~42% liked it.
~65% thought it was at least okay.
That means the majority of players is at least somewhat positive and the biggest issue for Firewalk/Playstation is to get people to try it.
