Asmongold has returned just in time for Dragon Age Veilguard

He said they come from an inferior culture. That's hardly "pro genocide".

"If you want to consider it genocide as a systematic killing of a group of people, they have genocide built into Sharia law right now," Asmongold said during the stream, which was clipped and shared widely on social media. "So no, I'm not going to cry a f—ing river when people who have genocide that's baked into their laws are getting genocided. I don't give a f—. They're terrible people. It's not even a question. It's crazy that people don't see it that way. They'd be doing the same thing.
"These people are not your allies. They're not the same as us. They come from an inferior culture that is horrible. It kills people for their identity, and it is directly antithetical to everything Western values stand for, and it is an inferior culture in all ways. It is that simple. No, I don't feel bad for them, I don't feel sorry for them, I don't care."

Seems to me he's pro genocide while justifying it by also being a bigot. I'd go with it is more than just "hardly". He is ok with genocide when its against people he views as "terrible people". That how it reads to me.

Anyway, this is a gaming forum so I'll leave it there. I will not consume any of his material again from here.

Can someone explain why people like this guy get well known. I watched him a few times and I don't quite get the appeal.

I only saw a headline of a topic, but is he the one that got banned on twitch for basically being pro genocide? If so, why are some of you still promoting him?

Doing a quick Google seems to suggest he is pro genocide from that video.

*I will edit if someone informs me differently.*

I'm Muslim. What he said was as abhorrent as it was ignorant. It would have incensed me, if I gave a shit what some guy on youtube says.

However, the guy clearly has his own issues and was, by his own admission, spending far too much time online absorbing internet content, which is filled with abhorrent ignorance of all kinds. I feel more sympathy for him than anything else and I'd imagine that, like most people, his rhetoric runs far beyond his actual opinion. If I thought that the guy would hypothetically be at the scene, actually sit there watching and listening to a teenager scream as he's incinerated and think "excellent, one less inferior being alive" I'd have a different opinion, but I doubt that's the case.

He built a large audience on YouTube by covering current events in a timely manner. He doesn't shy away from the controversial stuff that other personalities ignore. He also gives reasonable takes that people agree with which helped his channel grow organically.

Act Man kinda sorta used to be that guy until his demonetization arc.

Always when i see him i'm asking myself why he wears cheap T-Shirts for a couple of dollars when he is rich for sure.

This is how filthy rich people dress:

When you're truly rich there's not really any need to announce it with your clothes. But in Asmongold's case I think it's also basically his uniform.

We know this guy has at the bare minimum at least 30 million dollars in the bank because of the twitch salary leak a few years ago. Yet this guy can't hire a professional cleaning service once a month?
It's his gimmick, "look I'm average as any other random, I live in filthy place to show you how I'm not hiding anything from you"

He has some of the most tame takes, he just express them with curse words and screaming to make it sound hyperbolic, well that until he went into supporting genocide 🤦‍♂️

Before the arc Kacho Kacho described, he was a well known MMO streamer, potentially top 5 WoW streamer, and he was to MMOs what Maximillian is to fighting games.

I say 'was' because he has pivoted to politics, culture wars, and social coverage in the past 2-4 years and barely covers MMOs in his content anymore aside from throwing that part of his community a bone every now and then with one video every few months. I guess at least he still sort of plays video games.

If you're wondering how I know all this, I used to be a follower of his. Once his community helped funnel him down a rabbit hole and essentially made him a mouthpiece for Grummz I slowly checked out over time.

Edit: Post-ban a part of his community is wanting him to just go back to gaming, and the other part wants him to double down on politics and culture wars. Whatever he ends up doing I hope he truly finds that better path in life that he talked about finding in his post-ban video.

i don't blame him from moving away from MMOs. Most suck and his real passion is WoW, but that's been stale for a few expansions now.

I remember him trying mount contests recently. Not sure how it did engagement wise, guessing not too well relative to other things.

Seems like his WoW content has turned into him logging in to vent about the state of the game every few months while he runs around Stormwind.

Funny, I was starting to like him more during the runup to his cuckening.

I'm not really interested in whatever beta buckbroken takes he has at this point.

Cuckening? What?

He said a fucking grotesque thing about the people in Gaza, got rightly dragged for it by everyone, apologised profusely correctly citing the amount of time he spent in stupid internet echo chambers, and took time out to evaluate a few things before returning.

You think he was wrong to apologise and take some time out?

Nope not at all.
I watched the apology video and my interpretation was he was going to go all soft and milk toast and change his attitude to conform to the expectations of the woke mob going forward etc, etc. Not just apologizing for what he said but changing everything going forward.

I don't watch his Twitch streams and I only dabbled in his YouTube content.

Looking at the channel he hasn't posted anything since the apology video until today. I wrote him off after the apology, assuming he's cucked from here on out.

I'll check it at some point. Hopefully it doesn't suck.

I don't blame him either. If anything I think his golden era was right when his community finally convinced him to check out other MMOs and other video games to where he became mostly a fun variety game streamer, up until maybe 2020ish or 2022ish at the latest.

Its just how some roll

My wife HATES how I run around in TShirts and even shorts that come from WalMart

Clothes is something I just don't spend much money on unless I just need some nice ones but day to day living I dress like a bum according to her
Just tell her it's designer Walmarni.

Th
Today we learn the difference between things being tidy, and things being clean.

I thought it was only his alt that was banned tbh
The ban would of applied to both as its ban avoiding if he fires up on the alt that wasn't banned.

His place looks like a rundown nursing home

I like the guy - he has good takes - but the living in filth thing is clearly some sort of unrecognized mental illness. He needs to sort that out.

How did you get that interpretation? He didn't say anything like that.

That was the impression I got from the entirety of his video, and assuming people got his ear and were getting in his head.

I can see how someone might get that impression, especially if they're not too familiar with him, despite Asmon's instance that everyone should have understood what he meant. Here's his own comments about the situation after coming back:

Sharia law says hi. So does strict anti-abortion stance baked into the legislation because of Christian beliefs, but we got rid of that some time ago. What he said was in bad taste and aggressive, but his basic point stands - there are large populations of people with absolutely abhorrent views that are laws in a given country. It's not just a matter of opinion, you can be put to death by being a homosexual.

Next time STFU about stuff you dont understand. Its OK to say I DONT KNOW. He doesnt need the clicks THAT badly to say dumb shit like that.
