My wife was a victim of Xbox's confusing naming scheme

Wife supposedly bought an Xbox One S from a local market and didn't see any red flags that the 'new Xbox' was crazy cheap?
Gaming subreddit guy spends time setting up the console and adding an account and doesn't realize he's using an Xbox One S all the while?
I've seen more believable storylines on Pornhub.

For people who are on forums 24/7 it may seem silly, but for the majority of the market the names Xbox, one, one s, one x, series x, series s, etc... are very confusing, when it's so easy to just put numbers on them and that's it.

1,2,3,4 tells you exactly which console is newer. You need literally BASIC knowledge about math if 5 is higher than 3 or not. That's it. Same as knowing that year 2009 is before 2024.
One S and Series S REQUIRES you to have some level of knowledge and doesn't convey ANY MEANING which one is newer.

The name of the Xbox consoles have been made to make sure soft heads are put off by such a powerfull machine, they dont deserve to be in possesion of a box that some would say in the wrong hands is a WMD.

I dont get the idea the avg person gets confused by CPUs, GPUs, home appliances, cars, TVs etc.... because the code names or models mean nothing. It all comes down to digging into the details and picking the one you want.
I guess when it comes to consoles, people need to be spoonfed exactly what to buy.

So, person clueless about vidya gaems is informed in seconds and makes the correct purchase. That woman would have thought the same if she saw an ad for a PlayStation game and had to speak with her husband to realize they still have old ass PS4 and need to get 5 first to play newer games
