Like all those canned GaaS
I've played Warhammer Boltgun, Returnal, and Halo Infinite...none of which felt very fresh, in the last few years.

I don't need to play the next version of that if the hook they think they have is "We play heavy metal music, and have a shields are chainsaws aesthetic".

Soulless. There's no risk taking or creativity in AAA.

Microsoft showcases a bunch of third party games not developed by their studios
Yep and those third party games are all on PS5 day 1 too. Yet those third party games that are PS5 exclusive aren't PS5 games to be excited about "because they're not first party", "need more new IPs", "remakes everywhere". The logic of some people is really broken, but there is an obvious hidden reason why they make no sense.

Meanwhile old IPs, remakes, third party and multiplatform somewhere else

Zero consistency in what they're arguing.

Oh the usual duo..

I think it was good even if most of it doesn't interest me -- the only one that I'll probably play is Expedition 33 and all I really needed on that one was the release date

Ah!

The fucking irony of you clowns

I've spent already way more fucking time proving tech with hard proof that you guys just « lol » about and then shift the goalpost, you ain't fooling anyone here.
Nobody even mentioned tech you clown. I still remember your discussions about VR too (the only time I've ever spoken tech with you). You didn't prove shit and just ignored the thread when you were proven wrong.

Your photo that was clearly full of CA on the lens? Yeah I don't have time to waste with blind peoples.

It gets a D. The games roster up front looks good but man I don't know if I actually want to play any of these.

Ninja Gaiden 4 looks questionable if I'm being honest. Parts of it look good but there's a lot of stuff they showed off that made me really question it. The environments look terrible half the time and have that shitty generic sci-fi art direction. I swear they just looked at Ghostblade and said yeah that'll do. It could be good but this is some wait and see shit. I would not pre-order this given the recent Team Ninja and Platinum track records.

Ninja Gaiden 2 Black?!?!?! Ohhh fuck yeah let's go!!!.... Ohh... It's Sigma 2... With input lag and DLSS... For $40... Yikes...

South of Midnight - Just not into this. Compulsion has a meh track record and the gameplay on show looked clunky. If this is your thing I'm happy for you but it's a pass for me.

Expedition 33 - Probably the most up in the air thing. This could be great or it could suck. Gonna wait and see what feedback is like.

Doom - I was excited for this and this showcase unsold me on that. There's way too much push specific button now kind of bullshit happening. I don't want to spend my entire doom playthrough parrying the green energy blasts. It made doom look like some kind of hybrid rhythm game. The game also looks like they slowed it down significantly.

A to A- simple because the games are coming out really soon.
Enough with the opaque 2025 and put dates on those motherfucking games Sony if you want the same score next month.

There is a hit list of a few PS shitposters to ignore and GAF reading gets better for it. Don't waste your time or boost their shite.

Okay lets try this again. Where are all the games not released by Microsoft!
Dude, it's a joke linking those trailers. I am not going to sit here and have a who has the smallest epeen contest. Sony is doing fine. Not sure why every time one company has good news people feel the need to try to drag the other one down. What if I were to ask you where the console sales are? You would immediately tell me how console sales no longer matter to MS. Guess what? Sony has always relied on a strong third-party lineup. MS just happens to be a part of that now.

This is what was shown at the last State of Play:

  • Astro Bot.
  • Ghost of Yotei.
  • Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered.
  • Lego Horizon Adventures.
  • Alan Wake DLC.
  • Archeage Chronicles - Bet you forgot this game was announced.
  • Dragon Age The Veilguard,
  • Dynasty Warriors Origins,
  • Fantasian,
  • Fear the Spotlight,
  • Lego Fortnite,
  • Hell is Us,
  • Hitman VR,
  • Legacy of Kain Remastered,
  • Lunar Remastered Collection,
  • Metro VR,
  • Monster Hunter Wilds,
  • Pal World,
  • Stellar Blade Nier Automata costume,
  • The Midnight Walk,
  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles DLC,
  • Sonic x Shadow Generations,
  • Towers of Aghasba,
  • PS5 controller/blades new colors.

What percentage of that show was worth being excited for.
As a whole the show wasnt better than a C.
Its not about inconsistency that State of Play as a whole wasnt that great even if it did have some bangers........a bunch of it wasnt noteworthy.

I'm not sure how my opinion of which games were worth being excited about is relevant but since you asked:

  • Astro Bot.
  • Ghost of Yotei
  • Legacy of Kain Remastered
  • Metro VR
  • Monster Hunter Wilds

But you missed the point entirely anyway. The point is that you can't complain that a game is third party and so not worth counting as a PS5 game to get excited about then get excited by third party games that are completely multiplatform. You can't complain about how there are too many remakes then get excited about a remake, you can't complain about "lack of new ips" while ignoring Stellar Blade and Rise of the ronin (another team ninja game) then get more excited about old IPs instead. That's what I'm referring to. Not somebody's opinion of a show and 'percentages'.

You are comparing two different show formats, xboxs bugger show like the above is shown closer to summer

Not into the midnight game or whatever but holy shit the 3 games looked very promising.
Despite being not into that one game, i still like how they handled the showcase, they showed gameplay and development and talked about what its about.
Good showcase overall.
Doom looked amazing, the 33 game looked interesting and Ninja Gaiden looked fun. Condensed but detailed showcase the way it should always be.

Half a year removed and still sore about GAF's ratings for that SoP ?

I don't even know what rating you're even talking about so ypu can leave your console warring/xbox stanning at the door.

Mate your literal first post in the thread is whining about people not getting excited for PS5 content.

You should be the last person to tell anyone else to leave their console warring at the door 🤭

No, just logically consistent. Unlike a lot of people here

I thought those PlayStation showcases where they showed stellar blade, monster hunter, resident evil, silent hill 2, etc were great but you have a huge swath of people shitting on them
Those were great too imo

Most people here just hate video games

No my post in this thread is about some people's inconsistency. You know everything about that. However, this isn't about some SoT gaf reaction that I haven't even heard of.

Fuck me. A great developer direct turns into a console war. Lovely.
To be fair, this is what started it all:
Don't care about any of these games but I'm sure lots of people do, so that's a good thing.

Microsoft saving PS5 single handed is the biggest news here. Sony in BIG trouble once again. How about some games Sony?
That said, I don't think that's a Xbox guy, he's more like an eternally butthurt over Sony guy.

Regardless of one's interest in the games themselves...I think it's pretty important to note that Microsoft has hit a sweet spot with these developer directs. The gameplay is there and is the focus, with the dev commentary being a non-intrusive supporting feature. Nobody just wants to hear the devs go on and on about the games. It's better that the commentary reflects the gameplay we are seeing in a way that seems to flow naturally. State of Plays and Nintendo Directs could learn a thing or two here...especially if they have game even more people will be excited about.

I own all consoles and I love PlayStation (and sometimes Sony) in some kind of nostalgic way, but this generation they have underdelivered big time. My Xbox gets more time because the 3rd party games I play will count towards Xbox Rewards and therefore makes my GP Ultimate cheaper each month. And there are games like Indiana Jones that are awesome.

If Sony got some great exclusives to play, I'd play them but they just aren't there. Have already played all major exclusive releases on PS5 and I bought the damn thing only 2 years ago. Go figure. I want more bang for my buck.

An easy A for me. Looking forward to all those games. And this is before avowed and that clockwork game and fable come out. Gamepass just gets fatter and fatter every year. Hopefully we hear something about the next Xbox later this year too.

People liked stream which showed great looking games and gave all of them a decent amount of screen time with game play segments.

What an inconsistent tragedy.

Sure, Jan. Maybe try better than low effort shitposting next time around, then.
Hold the press, Sony produced a game?
