kirby and the forgotten land is my favorite Kirby game by far. A successor to it would be awesome.I think we'll see all that and a new DKC. It has been eleven years since the last entry, it's time. Obligatory Kirby game as well.

Weren't they supposed to produce and stock them for month right now precisely to avoid shortages and scalpels? Even at the height of Covid I still managed to pre-order XSX and PS5 (which I then promptly cancelled and didn't manage to buy again for 18 months...).I'm only worried about pre-ordering Switch 2 won't turn in to disaster.
For the new page. It is getting very close. Hopefully, the launch is not far off.
Someone working on the live setup leaked stuff on 4chan.Nice that it hasn't leaked yet. Last gen people knew of things like Arms and that Mario logo before hand
Maybe there's nothing to leak…Nice that it hasn't leaked yet. Last gen people knew of things like Arms and that Mario logo before hand
"It's a mouse and here's some more MK footage, $450, August"Maybe there's nothing to leak…
I thought it would be Oblivion remaster? Will the inevitable Switch 2 Skyrim re-release be announced here or are we going to have to wait a while? Bethesda is creaming at the opportunity to put it out again.
Anybody got odds on preorders being available tomorrow?
The Direct is going to be an hour long, followed by seven hours of Treehouse gameplay over two days. They have plenty to show.Maybe there's nothing to leak…
I thought it was going to be Morrowind.I thought it would be Oblivion remaster?
Don't be sillyI thought it was going to be Morrowind.
I'm surprised Skyrim doesn't hold a guinness world record yet.Don't be silly
It's Skyrim again
That's not crazy. It's crazy how people still think Nintendo is not the best developer of video games in the world.
I'm so ready to be disappointed to hear the backwards compatible games will run exactly the same as on the Switch.
I was thinking more that the games have fixed settings like when you put a PS4 game into a PS5. Nintendo will be too lazy to implement a boost mode for 1080p/60 in handheld mode.that's gonna be almost impossible to do.
this isn't the same situation the Wii or the Wii U were in, the latter of which hardware emulated the previous system by going into a completely different hardware mode and OS environment, while the former used nearly the exact same hardware and just had to slightly adjust clock speeds.
the Switch 2's GPU can't just change into Switch 1 mode for example and just turn off 1280 cuda cores and completely change its CPU clock speed every time you launch a Switch 1 game.
the Switch 2 OS for example still need to work like always, and it will expect a certain hardware that is allocated to it with a certain clock speed and a certain amount of GPU and CPU resources.
the Wii U didn't have to do that as it completely switched into the Wii OS when playing back compat games.
even the PS4 Pro for example was able to easily emulate a base PS4 for games where it was necessary, as it was designed specifically in a way that makes this doable seamlessly. it had exactly 2 times the GPU hardware on board, with basically a mirrored set of GPU cores stuck to the original PS4 GPU cores. and the OS was also designed for the base PS4 hardware so it wasn't an issue in that department either if it slightly altered its clock speed.
so with what we know about the Switch 2 APU, it's almost impossible for Nintendo to give it a hardware mode that limits Switch 1 games to their original performance. the GPU is a completely new one, and can not be easily split into sections to emulate a Switch 1.
Honestly, I'm just glad it's backward compatible at all.I'm so ready to be disappointed to hear the backwards compatible games will run exactly the same as on the Switch.

I'm sure there are many cases, there's that new Pokemon game that has a shambolic frame rate.99% of them will run the same settings for sure, since most games won't be patched I bet.
but I also hope that they at least give the option to run the Docked mode profile of Switch 1 games in handheld mode.
however, given that many games on Switch use a dynamic resolution and struggle to keep their target framerate locked, I bet many games will instantly feel and look better to play.
Wolfenstein 2, Doom 2016 and Doom Eternal all run with a dynamic resolution for example, and they aren't locked in their framerate. so even without a patch they will instantly feel more polished.
Wolfenstein 2 targeted 720p but could drop to 360p even in docked mode!
I'm sure there are many cases, there's that new Pokemon game that has a shambolic frame rate.
There's still a lot of games I haven't played on the Switch though, and I sold mine last year waiting to hear about this specifically. If there's no noticeable gain and no 3D Mario game on the horizon I might as well get an OLED.
Now this is interesting.Pokemon will probably have Switch 2 support or even a Switch 2 version.
Xenoblade X already has a 60fps mode dormant in its code, as dataminers found out
and I bet Nintendo will patch at least some of their games to run better. there was this whole Gamescom leak where people that were invited to a behind the scenes Switch 2 presentation said they showed Breath of the Wild running at 60fps and a higher resolution (possibly near 4K)
patching these games shouldn't be much of an issue, and would be an easy PR win for Nintendo
Now this is interesting.
I'll stiil expect nothing and be pleasantly surprised though. Nothing in Nintendo's recent history with how they've handled emulation suggests they will actually boost backwards compatible games.
Where have they said it's an hour long btw?The Direct is going to be an hour long, followed by seven hours of Treehouse gameplay over two days. They have plenty to show.
That doesn't mean you or I won't be disappointed by what they show, but it's definitely way more than just a couple new hardware features and a release date. There are going to be multiple game announcements, and at least a few of them are coming soon enough to be demoed this week.
Where have they said it's an hour long btw?
Be ready for Nintendo Crow, buddy!I'll eat so much crow if the "C" doesn't stand for Connect, as in "Nintendo Connect".
A hub for all things social. News, a feed with screenshots and video's from players (Miiverse light), chat, friends etc
No but I'm serious, they were some leaks of an Oblivion remaster for a while so since the Switch got Skyrim at release(?), I would expect that Bethesda might shadow drop Oblivion on Switch 2 release. I wish they redo Morrowind at some point but I highly doubt it.I thought it was going to be Morrowind.
Really? Lol?Excited to disappointed! Here's what I've got on my bingo card:
-1080p (lol)
-Switch 1 backwards compatability with no visual upgrades whatsoever, They'll charge £29.99 per upgrade obvs
-No Achievements system
-Nintendo Switch 2 online exclusive emulators wont transfer from switch one and will be 2x the price to subscribe to
-C button is "clown makeup application" for those dissapointed about the lack of 4k and the lack of a new F-Zero game.
If you are playing handheld only, then yeah I guess. I've got a 4070 and a 4K display though, 1080 doesn't cut it anymore, especially the switch 1's 1080p output. it looks awful by today's standards. If the rumors about it having DLSS compatability are true, then its absolutely retarded for them to gimp the switch 2 with a 1080p only output when they could just DLSS everything up to 4k. I'm happy to be proven wrong, but we all know what Nintendo are like.Really? Lol?
I have a 4070 and still play at 1080p. I will be fine with 1080p for the Switch 2 if the games run better.
I'm waiting for the RTX 6000 series, probably with a 6070 i will get a 4K monitor. If you are playing handheld only, then yeah I guess. Your 4070 can easily outperform the PS5 pro as it is, especially with DLSS4.I'm waiting for the RTX 6000 series, probably with a 6070 i will get a 4K monitor.
I would just like to see this tech demo again, but as actual gameplay. This demo is the essence of Zelda come to its full fruition.![]()
Are we going to see Next Zelda tech demo like, n64, GameCube and wiiu
