I do not get where they justify that price? They are using an old LCD screen, The graphics look worse than a Series S, and very little change from the OG Switch. Either they are being greedy or Nvdida is raping their ass with chip prices.
 
Nintendo sold me on the switch 2 as much as the market is selling me on this pump fake right now.

I'm a 40 year Nintendo fanboy who has owned every console day one and now I probably won't get one until next year at the earliest. Mario Kart looks amazing but there's nothing else I'm interested in. I want Nintendo games on my Nintendo system. I can play third party games at PS5 fidelity on my Portal.

God help the Switch 2 sales this holiday if GTA6 launches in the fall. I cannot believe how bad that Direct was after waiting so long for it.

Unless this thing flops, there is no financial reward for being patient with Nintendo. The hardware and games will be the exact same price 5 years from now lol
 
It's amazing how internet is so negative sometimes, I really got sold, it would be better if they showed some more first party games but I'm almost sure they'll be announced later in a separate Direct before the console launches... I'm not buying it mainly for newer games, but for previously released games mostly, the TOTK and Kirby upgrades have me very happy! Also GC on day one.

The Pro Controller looks amazing too, the mouse feature is gonna be great with third party mouses or mouse shaped cases so I'll prob. get another Dock for playing on my PC desktop, I was even about to pull the trigger on an Xbox or PS5 just for online play (I hate invasive anti-cheats on PC) but now I don't need to because Switch 2 solves my need even better.

The trailers looked kinda low res, but that has been a thing from Nintendo since 3DS days, they make the resolution look way worse than it is for 3DS and Switch games, once they're on your TV they'll look way better than trailers, for 3DS they looked horrible in trailers and great in the consola screen, so yeah, don't look too much into that.
 
That Switch 2 lite is gonna be glorious, delete all the gimmicks, bring down the price and I'll play my older games slightly less worse than before.
 
Besides Metroid prime 4 all games look so gay. A hard no for me. That game in wheelchairs. Is this the Nintendo fun only the hardcore fans are talking about?

Definitely not since nothing really good was shown.

Metroid Prime 4, new Donkey Kong looks ok but nothing super amazing that I really want.

Zelda imprisoned war looks alright but I'll rather they move on to a new Zelda quicker.

The same two Zelda games on the first Switch which while good aren't as good as the better Zelda games in the past.

Theyll need to show at least a brand new AAA Zelda game that's closer to the better unique art style of Majoras mask and Ocarina of Time and a FFIX Remake before I even consider thinking about getting it

I'm in it for tomodachi life, but shit that is coming to Switch 1 which I already own....

So I'm more so buying it for Bravely Default 1 remaster, but...if that remaster Square put on PS4 / PS5, I would not be buying Switch 2 day 1. (which is funny as I'm sure Square will make some collection anyway with all 3 games or some shit on PS4, PS5, Switch 2 etc) lol

So too much of this is older games, port factory and even their own remasters of BoTW and Kirby and the Forgotten Land.

So I'm buying day 1 cause I got to money to spend in dat Bravely Default remaster lol but anything can change and that isn't as solid as a day 1 as other platforms tbh. An Animal Crossing or at least some compelling new game can get me in there day 1, but nothing really looks interesting to me.

Also folks, understand my perspective, I already own Switch 1, own a PC, PS4, PS5 etc, those fucking ports are not doing shit for me, telling me I can play some shit I already own, but worse isn't some wild selling point to me like I give a shit, why would I care that I can play CP2077 or Elden Ring on this?

Spend more to play the worse version of some shit I already completed and moved on from? So please, understand its not that its not a lot of games, its merely this is a great deal of fudd I already own and pointless to buy from my perspective.
 
It has some cool features, but the price is quite steep, I'm not really feeling the first party offerings yet, plus it's full of all the 3rd party dreck I bought a Switch specifically to avoid.

Voting for 'maybe later', though it's really more of an 'inevitably later since eventually there'll be more games, my Switch 1 might not last forever, and there's zero chance of me ever buying any of the other consoles'.

I voted no, but i will probably buy it since i got rid of my old Switch last year. I only play Nintendo games and exclusives that interest me on the switch and that part of the line up is disappointing for now.
 
No. My son enjoys my Switch, but ever since the Steam Deck came out, I haven't touched my Switch. I never actually beat a single Switch 1 game, that's how little I played it. Switch 2 didn't do anything to change that.

Steam Deck + PC going forward, for me.
 
Yea. The 120hz and HDR has me. I love the Portal and Switch 2 is obviously better. I wasn't interested before but the tech sounds dope.
 
Metroid Prime 4 in 4k 60fps and TOTK running at 60fps and higher resolution is probably enough for me to buy one.

Of course they coudn't have done better.

They even uttered the 4k 120hz HDR + enhanced S1 words for the spec whores in an attempt to keep them at bay.

I just realized they didn't even announce an upgrade for Xenoblade X lmao. Guess I'll keep playing that on my Switch One for another thousand hours until we get a new Mario or Zelda.
 
No, because I don't care about any of the games they showed and I don't want to pay for that expensive screen. I would like a screenless switch 2 with pro controller. I know it's not happening.
By the time Switch 2 will no longer be held back by switch 1 installer base, the ps6 will release. 😐
 
I'm usually day one with Nintendo systems but this one didn't impress me. And I think it's too expensive, both the hardware and the software.

I wouldn't be surprised if they did an emergency price drop like they did with the 3DS..

I maybe in that boat too. I hated the Switch 1 at launch and years later I picked one up and came to love it. I can hold off on the Switch 2. As someone else said in another post, "What the hell has Nintendo been doing?" Where are there great Ip's and games?
 
They're really lacking actual Switch 2 games, Mario Kart World and Bananza look fun as fuck, but buying a console for 2 games (expensive ones) is tough... Also I'm not sold on Prime 4 yet.
 
For the look of the device with games running at 1080/120 fps? Sure.

For the price of the system and some games going 80 or higher? No, fuck off.
 
The hw is as bad as expected, but i fucking loved mario kart world and new donkey kong also looks great. 3D mario probably coming too this winter so i have to buy it 🤷‍♂️
