Not sure what's there to be positive about.

Not really, just gonna wait & see. All the nickel & diming, couple with BC issues, probably best to wait it out for a bit and get a better idea of the hardware upgrade first.

I just registered my interest in buying the Mario Kart World bundle for $499 on the Nintendo store. I'm probably going to break my "don't buy on day 1" rule but I'm really intrigued by open world Mario Kart.

I gotta buy at least 2. That's $1k. Ouch. PLus 2 GC controllers. That's $200. 2 pro controllers. That's $200. 2 cameras. $160 maybe.

So $1560 before tax.

Never liked anything Nintendo after I was older, it's really insufferable how many threads it gets (30 mentions of switch on the main page here, 40 out of 46 THREADS on the other forum).
Nothing else gets this much attention hah, if it can have this many threads I'm going to moan in this one! :messenger_grinning_sweat:

Seems that Neogaf isn't too impressed with the S2.
Did yall not see the magnetic joycons with the bigger sticks? It's even a mouse.
Imagine being in the back of the car, hold the switch in one hand and a mouse on your leg in the other.

Better games,
I only want to play upgraded Switch 1 games for now, and they gave me that, you can't say Nintendo doesn't release good games unless you're just not the target, they're great and the ones I want (bar Xenoblade 3) already have upgrade announced.

More reasonable Prices on their Games,
Yeah, definitely, this is gonna get wild... Not only on Nintendo tho, I'll probably more than normally will wait for discounts or vouchers

Not spending so much time on bullshit chat functions and camera functions thats been around for decades and few will buy,
Well, yes, I was a little disappointed but I'll do as I always do: If I don't care about it, I'll move on and wait for the things I care about where they delivered.

Games that were more visualy appealing and looked like more than just PS3/PS4 level of games,
I'm ok with that, just give me good IQ and frame rate... and as we saw, Switch 2 is really a "PS4 Pro"-like console, I'm happy with that. I play on PC btw, I don't need ever improving graphics, for me graphics are good enough for most stuff already, if something doesn't run well on Switch and it's not first party, I'll just play it on PC.

Some Reason or piece of Software that really wanted me to go out and buy it,
I get it pal, but for me they delivered for what I expected, if they announced many great games but not the upgrades for Switch 1 games I'd be more disappointed... But I feel like they have those saved for right after or right before the Switch 2 launches, it's just too suspicious from Nintendo to leave big first parties out and it makes no sense that they don't have them already.

I love Nintendo, I think it's you who's coping with the fact that they have shown nothing interesting.
They showed off plenty of interesting things for a lot of people. If you like Nintendo and nothing in this interested you personally then it doesn't really seem like you like Nintendo.

They really tried their hardest to put me off getting one, but for sure buying one this year. Just hope some 3rd party accessory company can step up an make the thing more ergonomic and provide hall-effect sticks.

I really hope Nintendo receives backlash on a lot of this and they have to back pedal like Xbox did with the XBO reveal.

Some of this stuff is fine, some of it is arrogant AF.

They really made their fans wait this long just to gouge TF out of them like this?

Makes no damn sense.

They showed zero interesting new Nintendo titles. I don't really care about Kirby Air Ride or Donkey Kong.

Or playing a tech demo where I'm in a wheelchair. Fucking LMAO.

Where are the new creative IP's? Some awesome Mario game? Anything interesting and creative?

You say they showed off interesting things for a lot of people. So what did you think was interesting??? Paying for upgrades and ports of old ass games? I dont care about the hardware itself, I care about Nintendo quality games. Where were those?

You can't pass up Nintendo's first party games, so I'll get it eventually.

Two major gripes about the console:
1. Screen downgrade from OLED.
2. No improved ergonomics for handheld mode. (Big miss IMO)

Not interested in trading OLED for upgrade patches right now.
Don't worry. They will release an Oled version for $500.

Personally, not right now. At $449 with no pack in game, it seems like a bad buy. Talk to me when the Mario Kart World Bundle is at $449.

Nope. I guess im just done with Nintendo. I haven't owned one since the Wii. Wasn't really wowed by anything. A better buy imo will be the next steam deck or other pc handheld.

Wrong. I love many of Nintendo IP's and are a big Switch Fan. The Ips like Donkey Kong did not look interesting to me. Mario kart looks OK but for $90 they can fuck off

I'm a huge Nintendo weeb...
Fuck off with $90 games. I don't see how I can ever rationalize that.

Nintendo clearly have experimented with the Switch design for some time, to delve deeper into what can be done within the natural constraints of the tablet design. Basically they try to insert more Nintendo ideas into the Switch than what they did with the original Switch.

I think time was a bit limited before the launch of the original Switch, due to the economic failure of the WiiU and Nintendo needing to get out a successor. Now Nintendo have had a lot more time to experiment.

Hardware wise, I like the mouse control. The surprise was the communication aspect in the beginning, a friendly, personal way to communicate in-game, a very Nintendolike approach.

The Donkey Kong game at the end being the highligh as far as the games go. Smash! Everything! Driving around off-track in Mario Kart to just drive for fun also seemed enticing for a rather noncompettive spirit like myself.

All in all, yes, I see enough to get me ready. Whether it will be at launch depends on how easy it will be to get hold of the system.

Switch 2 - € 469,99
Switch 2 + Mario Kart World (digitaal) - € 509,99
Mario Kart World (digitaal) - € 79,99
Mario kart World (fysiek) - € 89,99
Donkey Kong Bananza (digitaal) - € 69,99
Donkey Kong Bananza (fysiek) - € 79,99
MicroSD Express-kaart 256gb - € 59,99
Nintendo Switch 2-camera - € 59,99
Nintendo GameCube (GCN) Controller - Nintendo Classics - € 69,99
Nintendo Switch 2-Pro-controller - € 89,99

Taken from the store. Let that sink in for a minute.
Genuinely makes the PS5 Pro look like a bargain in comparison.

This is one I hope the Scalpers lose their ass on. If they buy it for $450 they are going to want $700-$800

They didn't sell me, and the whole presentation didn't really blow me away - but I'm still buying on day 1. I like new hardwares.
And honestly, I was looking for $499 pricing at the worst, so I'm not surprised. 399 have been nicer, for sure.

But I was quite honestly underwhelmed and disappointed that paid patches, especially for BOTW and TOTK. Hopefully it will be decently priced under 10 bucks, if not under 5 bucks.
At least some other titles have free patches. I'm holding off playing Xenoblade Chronicle series because of low res mess + low frame rate... so I'm hoping they'll address it too. Heck, basic upscaling for entire BC lineup would have been nice.

And hope it will have good compatibility with existing pro controller. I'm not buying a new controller for that back button and c button, which I will likely not use at all.

Metroid Prime 4. Even more exciting how they managed to get it to run 4k60fps. I'll play it 1080p 120Hz though for the fluidity.
Donkey Kong looks amazing? Idk how you can ask for a Mario game and be disappointed by a 3D DK game. They're both in the same genre.
Gamecube titles with better res. I hope the Pokemon games have compatibility with Home to transfer pokemon to because those games and pokemon have been stuck on Gamecube.
Mario Kart World speaks for itself.
New Souls game being directed by Miyazaki unlike Nighterign
I'm a -big- fan of Hyrule Warriors, both of the previous games were extremely fun and I hope (and it seems like) this story is canon.
Pokemon Z-A actually looking playable - granted it's still not much of a looker but at the very least it looks clean and sharp.

The screen being 120Hz and HDR is a pleasant surprise. Integrated voice chat is finally a thing. Faster storage for faster load times.

Few things I didnt like: No OLED is a disappointment but the blow is softened by the other features of the screen.
Not the most interesting 3rd party ports. I'm not playing Cyberpunk on a handheld after playing it on Max settings on PC with Pathtracing - the same reason I couldnt bring myself to play it on Steam Deck. I have zero interest in Borderlands 4. I will rebuy FF7R.

TL:DR: I'm very excited for it. Especially as more third parties start revealing things for it.

I'll wait and see. I'm excited for games like Mario Kart World, DK Banana, and Daemon X Machina but not enough to grab it on release. If Switch 2 gets hacked like Switch 1 I may just buy and dump the games on my PC on an emulator like I did with Switch 1.

I'd say my excitement took a dip overall. My obvious prediction of MK being a launch title was true. I was wrong about Cube being on VC but I'm probably as excited about this as anything and seeing SoCal2 being offered is going to be great fun. I'll get Elden Ring again and double dip on BOTW/TOTK. I thought we'd see more of Silksong which just feels like a meme at this point. Deltarune finally coming is welcome. Sakurai and KAR was a nice surprise. There were a ton of missteps in both the games announced and messaging. A lot of the 3rd party support felt a lot like the Wii U reveal to me honestly and the excitement of the From exclusive quickly had the wind knocked out of its' sails given the nature of the game.

Its insufferable that the best selling console of all-time(in a few months at least)from the biggest videogame company, about their new product gets the most threads? What is this, bizzaro world?

OT, SOLD. Ill be getting 2, one bundle with/Kart, one without. Plus all the accouterments.(controllers/games/accessories)

They don't have to 'sell' me on it, I've bought every Nintendo console on principle, since SNES. They have their ups and downs. I was always going to buy a Switch 2, on launch day if possible.

But personally, I didn't see anything in the unveiling today that set my soul on fire. They showed some good stuff, but the only thing that would really get me out of my seat would have to be a new Mario or the next major Zelda.

Honestly, the thing that excited me the most was confirmation of Gamecube games coming to NSO.

$80 for digital games and, worst than that, $90 if you want it physical. I really can't believe this is real. Nintendo is fucking crazy. I people support this, we can expect the entire industry adopting the same.

I would of thought that was an April Fools Joke. I will vote with my Wallet and say Hell NO!

not really, at least not getting it at launch.
i es no van of the switch, (tiny controllers, pro controller without headphone jack, lot of wiiu remasters i already had) i got it at the end of its life cycle just for it's exclusives.

was kinda excited for the switch 2 but apart from DK Bananza and MK not really excited.

gonna get it in Christmas if available or when a special edition appears.

Ouch. That multi language Japanese version is nasty. They are getting around the yen/USD difference, since the "Japanese only version" would be the USD equivalent of $330.

Many current Switch games are multi language and it's much cheaper to buy the JPN version with USD. Wonder if they will split the games too.

i will buy it next year hopefully with some promotion or something.

didnt saw anything that was really ground breaking to be honest.

Yes.
Mario Kart World sold me on day 1.
I wish Donkey Kong Bananza was also, but I'll be looking forward to that soon after.
