Silent Hill 1 remake announced - Konami/Bloober

SH1 is good but I don't know if it will adapt as well into a remake like 2 or 3 or even 4 would.

personally I would have done 4 because it's underrated and a gem.

Now if they do 1 & 3 and like a joined extended narrative that could be cool.

It's 2025 and we have a new Metal Gear, Silent Hill, Doom, Elder Scrolls and Resident Evil coming out soon.

This is a major remake. SH2 they just had to uplift visuals, and change up combat.

The original SH1 is ugly as sin. I hope they make it like SH2 but even better.

This is very exciting for me since I've only played SH2R.

If they nail this then we for sure will get SH3R so I can complete the trilogy.

Silent Hill f was announced in 2022

It's releasing this September.
I was thinking of the other one, Cronos.

They sure seem to be busy there lol. Good for them, from making mid-tier games to producing so much quantity and quality.

What? SH2 is a completely ground up remake which looks and plays nothing like the original, lol. They didn't just 'uplift visuals'.

this means we've got ourself a trilogy remake by Bloober boys

good shiiiiiiit

Bloober absolutely nailed SH2, they've got the green light for SH1 and SH3 remakes from me.

Leave Konami to focus on new games.
They did do a good job on SH2, but Konami isn't doing anything. If they're coming back to game development, and will be making new games in the near future, handling a remake is the least they can do.

It wasn't more logical to release the Silent Hill remake before Silent Hill 2 Remake ?🤔
Obviously it was more logical, but 2 is the more popular game so when you test the waters you tend to go for the safest bet. Now that it's a success, a whole bunch of options open up.

Bloober Team take my money and my soul. You absolute creamy divine gods deserve nothing less. Oh now I yearn for thy succulent eldrich juices.

The path they are following right now is a sustainable model and we are eating good.

Suikoden 1&2 remaster, MGS3 remake, SH1&2 remake, a new silent hill proper, etc.

All we need now is a castlevania.

Finnaly!!
Loved the first one on the PSX and can't wait for this remake. They just need to follow the SH2 remake template and we're good.

YES!!!! The Silent Hill remake I've been waiting for!

Didn't play Silent Hill 2 or it's Remake cause Im not interested in them. Always prefer the Silent Hill 1 and Silent Hill 3 combo as the true best Silent Hill experience.

Nice, super happy about this.
And I've learned my lesson, even if what Bloober shows in trailers and gameplay looks awful as sin I'll still be excited to check it out.
I really did not like what I saw from SH2 but then when I played the game it easily became my game of the year.

Nice. I just picked up SH2 remake for £35 in the PS sale and it's really good. However, I can only play it in relatively small chunks because it is properly grim. The audio plays a big part in that, especially when that crackling radio noise starts emitting from the controller.

I really don't know why I do it to myself…

You would love, love the Prison :messenger_winking:

After how good Silent Hill 2 was, I can't wait for this.

They need to be careful though. In some ways, Silent Hill will be harder to remake than SH2. I think SH2 turned out so well because Bloober already had a robust blueprint to work from. Given how old SH1 is, Bloober will need to do a lot more work themselves interpreting that material to bring it up to date.

Silent Hill 1 is a cornier game than its more depressing sequel. There's a b-movie vibe to the dialogue and in some of the cliched story beats, which I hope doesn't get lost in the pursuit of quality. I really hope they do not try to make it as dramatic as SH2. It's also a more restrained horror game because of the limits of the time period. A lot of it takes place in near silence which I hope they don't fill with music (although if it's Akira Yamaoka on board again, I wouldn't be opposed to it).

And I hope they don't commit some critical error like add in Pyramid Head or make the nurses sexy considering the symbolism of them is different in SH1. Hopefully Masahiro Ito is also back on board to restrain Bloober - although apparently it was Bloober who wanted the SH2 remake to be very faithful and Ito wanted more changes (go figure).

I don't think you are gonna survive the last third of the game.

They still expanded SH2 quite heavily though and did it with absolute perfection imo.
The only thing that I would change from the remake was the first pyramid head fight, other than that Bloober really nailed it so I trust them with this one.

I know I'll hate it with every fibre of my being 🫣

I'm currently making my way through Woodside apartments and I'm constantly on edge. I've just picked up the pistol, but it isn't giving me any more comfort. With the lack of ammo, I'm going to continue clobbering things with the 2x4 for as long as I can hold out.

The atmosphere is top notch though. When I completed the jukebox puzzle in the first area, that foggy windstorm section was short but intense, and I couldn't get to the apartments quick enough! Now I have weird leggy freaks and pitch black halls to keep me company.

Toluca Prison in the remake must be the most intense and scary experience I ever got from a videogame.

Apart, perhaps, from RE7 demo which I simply quit playing because it was tense to the point of being unenjoyabe.

the bad thing about sh2 remake is that i wish bloober could do more on the ng+ content.

There is no replay value on the game.
The secret endings collection are trash, i rather just watch youtube.
