I was thinking of the other one, Cronos.Silent Hill f was announced in 2022
It's releasing this September.
This is a major remake. SH2 they just had to uplift visuals, and change up combat.
The original SH1 is ugly as sin. I hope they make it like SH2 but even better.
Agreed. SH2 original still looks fine and not ugly but SH1 is pretty rough.I'm more excited about this one than the part 2 remake. Part 1 is very, very old now.
Would be nice if it comes with the original version as an unlockable though.
It's 2025 and we have a new Metal Gear, Silent Hill, Doom, Elder Scrolls and Resident Evil coming out soon.

They're pretty good at screwing things up.Can Konami do something on their own for once?
Meant to say there's more work on SH1. It's a far bigger remake in scope. What? SH2 is a completely ground up remake which looks and plays nothing like the original, lol. They didn't just 'uplift visuals'.
They did do a good job on SH2, but Konami isn't doing anything. If they're coming back to game development, and will be making new games in the near future, handling a remake is the least they can do.Bloober absolutely nailed SH2, they've got the green light for SH1 and SH3 remakes from me.
Leave Konami to focus on new games.
Obviously it was more logical, but 2 is the more popular game so when you test the waters you tend to go for the safest bet. Now that it's a success, a whole bunch of options open up.It wasn't more logical to release the Silent Hill remake before Silent Hill 2 Remake ?![]()
The path they are following right now is a sustainable model and we are eating good. They did do a good job on SH2, but Konami isn't doing anything. If they're coming back to game development, and will be making new games in the near future, handling a remake is the least they can do.
Looking forward to the inevitable multiple pages of rage on gaf over the size of Lisa's head and how she's not hot enough.
Yeah the returnal \dead space look-alike with the p...private sexual part headgearVery cool, but didn't they just announce another game?
The path they are following right now is a sustainable model and we are eating good.
Suikoden 1&2 remaster, MGS3 remake, SH1&2 remake, a new silent hill proper, etc.
All we need now is a castlevania.
3 good port collections at half the price Capcom does it.All we need now is a castlevania.
Nice. I just picked up SH2 remake for £35 in the PS sale and it's really good. However, I can only play it in relatively small chunks because it is properly grim. The audio plays a big part in that, especially when that crackling radio noise starts emitting from the controller.
I really don't know why I do it to myself…

They still expanded SH2 quite heavily though and did it with absolute perfection imo. After how good Silent Hill 2 was, I can't wait for this.
They need to be careful though. In some ways, Silent Hill will be harder to remake than SH2. I think SH2 turned out so well because Bloober already had a robust blueprint to work from. Given how old SH1 is, Bloober will need to do a lot more work themselves interpreting that material to bring it up to date.
Silent Hill 1 is a cornier game than its more depressing sequel. There's a b-movie vibe to the dialogue and in some of the cliched story beats, which I hope doesn't get lost in the pursuit of quality. I really hope they do not try to make it as dramatic as SH2. It's also a more restrained horror game because of the limits of the time period. A lot of it takes place in near silence which I hope they don't fill with music (although if it's Akira Yamaoka on board again, I wouldn't be opposed to it).
And I hope they don't commit some critical error like add in Pyramid Head or make the nurses sexy considering the symbolism of them is different in SH1. Hopefully Masahiro Ito is also back on board to restrain Bloober - although apparently it was Bloober who wanted the SH2 remake to be very faithful and Ito wanted more changes (go figure).
I know I'll hate it with every fibre of my beingYou would love, love the Prison![]()
Toluca Prison in the remake must be the most intense and scary experience I ever got from a videogame.I don't think you are gonna survive the last third of the game.

RIP,Toluca Prison in the remake must be the most intense and scary experience I ever got from a videogame.
Apart, perhaps, from RE7 demo which I simply quit playing because it was tense to the point of being unenjoyabe.
You need a dev teams for thatCan Konami do something on their own for once?
SH was a dead franchise, so if you wanted to revive it, you start with the most wanted, iconic and known entry, and SH2 was thatWhy did they start with 2?
You're probably right.I don't think you are gonna survive the last third of the game.
