Chris Dring: Ghost of Yotei is the biggest 1st party PlayStation launch in Europe since Spider-Man 2, with launch sales in-line with Ghost of Tsushima

It basically is the only first party game since SM2.

Hmmm. That doesn't make too much sense to me to be honest.
He's put so many qualifiers out there his "yes" could mean anything. Based on install base, time of year, phase of the moon…

We have a good chance of getting real numbers tomorrow, dude is just farming.

This doesn't tell us much.

'In-line' in terms of attachment rate? In terms of sales? Digital? Physical? Combined?

Digital + physical sales across Europe.

Sales appear to be slightly above Ghost of Tsushima during its opening week.

"Biggest since Spiderman 2...."

Yotei is Sony's first AAA game since Spiderman 2, though.

It's slightly above Ghost of Tsushima, a game that sold 2.4 million copies in its first week.

Fantastic game that improves everything compared to the original, it was obvious that it would be a success. Haters were bound to take their L.

Real world doesn't care about stupid wars that in this case were also completely misplaced since there's zero forced political or cultural message in this game.

Yes, a very hardcore Sony fanboy that keep downplaying Nintendo games sales(Mario Wonder is his biggest fiasco).
Chris dring a hardcore Sony fanboy.

I don't even.... can there be at least one person who reports actual numbers?
Only Sony can do that.

Well it tells us that the sales for Yotei are similar / slightly above Tsushima.
That's up to publishers. Dring is trying his hardest to spin flat numbers as a W though.
What is the spin here exactly?

This is utter nonsense. He's a fan of Nintendo games but that doesn't normally impact his sales number analysis. He's in no way a "very hardcover Sony fanboy".

It a genuinely very good very polished game - in an age where games typically launch half broken.

It's a shame some people decided the moment it was announced they didn't want to experience it.

Death Stranding 2 is technically first party. MLB comes out every year, Lego Horizons, Until Dawn, Astro Bot, Helldivers 2, Rise of the Ronin and Stellar Blade technically count, Lost Soul Aside.

Whether a game is first party or not depends on who publishes it and where. Not who developed it.

Eh? its absolutely a win to compare favorably with a title sold when the PS4 install base at release was significantly higher than the PS5 install base right now.
You can definitely spin it that way but we're talking about Sony territory. Launch sales are flat and weak legs could put it behind in the long run.

Not as much as it pains you that everything you are saying is make believe until proven otherwise, which you can't do.

Like I said, when you can prove me wrong…do so. If it's doing so well and is a success, that shouldn't be too hard, right? I look forward to it.

Btw, I never said it was flopping, I said it wasn't selling as well as the first game and that means it's not successful.

My man RafterXL RafterXL right now.

The thing is that, in the Sony territory, the PS5 is several million units behind the PS4 launch aligned, this is what the sales between PS4 vs PS5 look alike in Spain (launch aligned, and thanks to Bruno MB from IB Forum):

I can think that the other European countries would be the same as Spain.

Isn't the PS5 lagging behind in most markets? I'd say that has more to do with price and lack of interest in the current hardware, but that's a different conversation. Doesn't change that Europe is generally considered Sony land.

Some people really wanted this game to fail and were convinced that the sequel to GoT, one of the best PS4 games was going to fail because of some Twitter boycott campaign :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Boycotters and haters have huge egg on their faces right now.

Rise of the Ronin, Stellar Blade, Helldivers 2, Astro Bot, Death Stranding 2.

All those games were published by Sony. You can still count all the games they've released on PC since Spider-Man 2.

MLB The Show 25 was not in Gamepass this year and was selling 20% ahead of its best year in franchise history at the half year mark as reported. Wonder if it beat that as it's technically first party?

Helldivers 2 was an AAA game that released after Spiderman 2.

Helldivers 2 isn't first party?
No, HD2 is published by Sony but the IP remains with the studio, arrowhead.

Since the game surprisingly is pretty based, and there is no push or force twisted woke agenda particularly twisted gender ideology, the game deserves the success. And most of all SP fired that sick mind employee.
Apparently the ending is … not based?
