I stopped giving them clicks a long time ago. They do the same with Nintendo by saying the game looks shite, then when it releases, it's actually really good/impressive. They are 100% click-baity at this point.
Well, no one is taking Microsoft at its word about the next gen, their thumbnail reflects the community feeling right now. I think the cover the Xbox pretty fairly and they always given them the benefit of the doubt.

Talking about Star Wars Outlaws? It ran at like 25 fps with bad image quality in trailers. If Digital Foundry is negative about something there is usually a reason.
On the thread subject, they should have sad faces for good news and happy faces for bad news, just to confuse those Twitter bootlickers.

eh .. the game ran bad at the gamescom floor demos, multiple websites reported it. The final game was ironed out before release. Optimization is usually done in last passes on the game before Gold cert. Many games even do it after Gold and call it a "day one patch".

Multiple games on Switch 2 they have downplayed as "lesser than" (including Cyberpunk 2077) only to then release a video actually praising the game as being somewhat decent (for the hardware).
They've even done it with the hardware/console itself. It's just an obvious, tired Shtick at this point to garner maximum clicks/views and I'm completely opting out of their click-bait crap.
I'll happily read what they said posted here on GAF but I'm not contributing to their channel views/ad revenue anymore.
I feel it's a bit disingenuous to only hate on DF for the "sad face" thumbnails, and not all thumbnails in general which are made only to exploit the shit out of the engagement algorithm, not to mention all of them have a very punchable faces. This is not Sydney Sweeney cosplaying.
