Which Next Gen console will wear the POWER CROWN?

Early days but it's always fun to speculate... do you think XBOX PC (or whatever they're going to call it), or PlayStation 6, will be the more POWERFUL machine?

(and how much difference would it make if one machine were clearly out in front?)

Sounds like the Xbox from early leaks is more powerful than the PS6......not that that means anything at all as the Series X is the more powerful base console this generation.

Raw power hasn't been relevant in 2 gens. Otherwise the One X and the Series X would have won their gens.

With the curse of diminishing returns and with AI upscaling it will be even less relevant next gen.

Does it even matter, when the majority of the upcoming games will be crossgen title?
At least for the first 3-5 years.

The Xbox PC will be the most powerful machine, when we look at the leaks.
But how much of that raw power is really visible, when it is just a PC with Windows 11 OS?

At this point, I'm becoming less interested in Powah.

I'd be very surprised if Sony didn't go the hybrid route like Nintendo, with the PS6. The Switch has proven that gamers want the option of TV and handheld, particularly in Japan. I'd be happy with this, even if it meant the PS6 was only a slight improvement on the PS5 Pro.

Leave MS to duke it out with the PC crowd.

Since PCs are apparently consoles now, I'd have to guess it's going to be MSI, iBuyPower, Dell or some other brand that'll have pre built PCs with RTX6090's in them .

Obviously the Xbox PC per leaks.

In saying that, that Xbox has things working against it:
- Its still going to run on Windows. I'm not sold on the super lean Windows given the Ally X situation so far.

- Sony is actively involved in hardware development now giving them an edge on actual needs vs MS' off the shelf approach.

- Brand recognition. No idea how Xbox is going to manage this.

- Cost to performance. Is double the price going to translate to double the performance? Hardly…

At the rumored price points and such it's gotta be the "Xbox" but at a 2x+ price multiplier being likely good luck selling it. In the diminishing returns era the games will look 95% the same unless you're zoomed in on pixels, and you can't sell FPS in screenshots.

I don't care about power if the consequence is the current rate of output. The best games I played the last few years were probably remakes anyway.

Xbox sounds like it'll be the more powerful system, but the vast majority will likely buy a PS6 because they'll have built up vast libraries of games throughout PS4 and PS5 cycles.

The Xbox could have the equivalent of the current GPU flagship and I'll still go with a PS6 because that's where all my games are and Microsoft have a dog shit track record over the last two generations.

I'm also not convinced that the whole Xbox PC shtick will work for the console crowd. I'm really interested to see how they make it a console like experience, as the PC experience can be amazing but equally as frustrating when things aren't working as intended.

Based on the current rumours? Magnus would be the faster between the two. But I question what the point of such a device is.

nextgen Playstation has the oportunity to prove that they still could make good games. The only thing left for my tastes is Saros. Sony need to lay some exclusives envery year and lose all DEI from games

Sounds like the Xbox from early leaks is more powerful than the PS6......not that that means anything at all as the Series X is the more powerful base console this generation.

The difference in hardware here seems broader than the difference between XSX and PS5.

Magnus is clearly ahead on paper. Got to call a spade a spade. What that translates to in the real world remains to be seen, especially IF there is no such thing as a SKU built and optimized specifically for Xbox. If devs optimize for the fixed spec, then the advantage should be quite obvious. If not, all bets are off.

It's probably the Xbox that is the more powerful machine. But it's irrelevant. It could be twice as powerful, it won't sell.
No one cares about their consoles now, so they won't care when this cost three times as much as the launch price of the series X. I'll be stunned if they break 2 million sold

If it comes out a year before PS6- gotta wonder if the extra year makes it closer than we think.
Not a factor for me.

If the next is Xbox actually what is being reported then it should be much more powerful along with being considerably more expensive. Not a console though. It's a PC. Probably consume a lot more power too.

Xbox will be more powerful, but games will look better on PS6. Even with the 600$ price difference. In handhelds, Sony will be the winner.

Xbox will be more powerful but no one will buy it. They will either get a PS6 as a console or go PC for full power options.
