I just lost 57 € for Deluxe Edition on PC.

Oh well... I knew it was a mistake but did pre-order anyway.
Let this be a reminder to not pre-order when you feel the hype is too high which was clearly the case here.

Pearl Abyss will be super happy with their 500K CCU for their 70 meta crap though, they are the clear winner here.

Also thanks to people still giving credits to sponsored youtubers & twitchers which again, did their job perfectly and confused everyone.

Deep, challenging but with a bit of power fantasy, and a good feel (sense of weight, proper feedback through htistop and screenshake and proper ragdolls/animations) is what I'm after. I'll let you know if the combat meets those expectations.

Based on what I'm hearing in these review videos regarding their patches, this team is going to patch this game with lightning speeds based on any and every minor issue.

They have said before they literally don't want this game to drop below an 8/10… they'll patch it up so fast that the reviews from today might be outdated by the weekend.

Jeff Gerstmann even talked about this on his recent podcast, because he said old school 'static reviews' that are based on an outdated or 1.0 version are worthless, and games media never fully adapted properly to the digital shift in gaming.
 
Watched the ACG review. I wish he'd have gone more in depth on discovery which he praises, but at the same time, his cuts to the in game map are littered with fog of war question marks (undiscovered areas) and points of interest question marks. He touches on it, but the pop in is super noticeable and that's on a beefy system. He also mentioned the combat is only best served on bosses and the open world are just fodder, which doesn't sound great.

I hope so man I hate unskippable cutscenes and especially if it's right before a boss battle, you quickly want to get back into the action

Again: did I lie about BOTW problems?

Not Nintendo bias, but "big names" bias is a thing. GOW Ragnarok shouldnt score higher than GOW 2018. Spiderman 2 sure as hell isnt a 92 MC game.

BOTW is easier to compare cause they have a lot in common, imo. Lots of the same problems, it seems. And yet BOTW sits at 97 MC score.

I'm not sure you understood my point correctly. I'm not calling the game itself garbage, nor do I shit on Pearl Abyss for their work. No one has failed here and I'm not belittling someone failing. I'm talking about the people, potential customers like you and myself, all across social media just absolutely pushing this game to insane hype levels and making comparisons to other phenomenal games when the game never showed any semblance of having the kind of gameplay or content that those games have. As I said in another post in an older thread, the game seemed to me like it would be a huge hit for the Dragon's Dogma crowd, but that game is nowhere close to having the clout of say, Elden Ring or Red Dead 2. It rubbed me the wrong way to see those comparisons everywhere. That's all there is to it. I saw people comparing this to Witcher 3 simply because of the music and the medieval style. Like come on, man. The game itself is probably good at what it wants to be and it'll land and sell well to the correct crowd. but it didn't need to be pushed so hard. That's all my point really is.
 
Almost an 80 in Metacritic is a good rating. Could be better obviously but I think its a solid score. Still excited for this

After watching ACG review, which i value a lot, i love the game's pros and hate its flaws, gonna wait few more weeks hoping bugs are fixed and maybe some additional setting/patch/mod is introduced that eliminates/vastly reduces that freaking mid and close range pop-in :(

This mostly on you guys, the way you guys hype this game up as if it was going to be greatest game ever created....the game could end up being good but the some you guys build hype for this game so much that it will disappoint you no matter what.

I think GAF expectation got twisted at some point.....either the game is a "masterpiece" or "trash" and nothing in between.....maybe this is why GAF gets disappointed so often.

It's a large MMO Developer. There's no way this game stays exactly the same in 6 months let alone 6 weeks.

Again, like mentioned above, they patched review copies of this game the instant any reviewer brought up a bug or issue on their discord.

I dont like GTA or RDR2. I feel like the gameplay, especially in RDR2 is abysmal.

The game is not for me. But clearly a lot of other people enjoyed it. That's how reviews by individuals work.

DS2 on PC should be fucking GOD tier.

The only real knock on the original release was its fairly relaxed difficulty even at the highest setting, which the new extra hard mode should "solve" if you are looking for a more survival style experience. And if not, and you just want to enjoy the world-building (literally and figuratively) and the gonzo set-pieces the original modes have you covered.

Honestly, I think its the best game Kojima's ever made.

It's even funnier how some ppl here just hand pick reviews that praise the game and are like "yeah I trust this guy now!". The coping is insane. I'll never understand this shit. Just accept the game is decent/average and buy it, but "trusting" one random guy over another random guy just so you dont have buyers remorse is childish af.

You complain about shitty story in one open world game. You review another open world game with the same flaw, and yet you rate it a 10/10?

What the fuck is the point of your review then if you contradict yourself in every piece?

I called 80 and I did so while being very hyped for this game so not sure why 2 points is supposed to make a difference. Time for me to move over to the OT for good. These review threads get played out really quick.

Dude saying he reported a bug before recording, and the dev team fixed it while he was recording, lmao.

Game is super massive, it's perfectly normal to have bugs here and there if you ask me.

Having 50 hours of gameplay and still be engaged in new mechanics is wild.
