The iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch Gaming |Thread4| NOT Doomed

I wish I could play New Star Soccer on the iPad. Bought it on my phone (Android) and it's great, but it would be even better on a bigger screen.

It seems to crash whenever I either press the Game Center icon, or when it asks me for my password to sign in (when restoring purchases, buying IAPs, etc). As soon as I press OK after entering my password, it crashes.

The only way round it I can think is to create a second UK account, buy the career mode using that account and then play it on my first, main account. Will iOS handle multiple logins in that situation, like it does for updating apps bought from different regions?

The dev is pretty active in the NSS thread on rllmukforum, could be worth asking him there to see if there's any known bugs like this

Ichi is coming to android. Which mean iOS Neogaffers get the game for free!

EPHTWH69E49W - yoink, thanks =)

Thanks, I'll try that. I've asked him on Twitter and he's tried to help but it seems like I'm the only person having the issue - must be conflicting with my Apple ID somehow, but it's strange as no other app does this.

You peasants hand't already bought it! Madness.

But kudos to the devs, it's fucking sweet, I actually cited it as an example of great UI to a mobile publisher in a meeting.

Broke down and bought Zombie Carnaval. It's a pretty fun endless runner. Very similar to Jetpack Joyride, except the idea is you are constantly trying to increase your Zombie pack in size by eating people and destroying vehicles with people in them. It can be a bit cheap with their onslaught of oncoming traffic and mines, but it's still enjoyable. It has an upgrade tree where you can get new powers and abilities by using in game money (or you can spend real money). It also has missions like Jetpack Joyride, which earn you more coins.

Anyway, that's my 99 cent review.

Endless runners are kind of interesting. It seems fairly easy to make an enjoyable one, but impossible to make a great one. I never really feel fully satisfied after playing one. It almost needs another dynamic or two to really elevate the genre.

I get what you mean. I love those kind of games and always check out new ones but Jetpack Joyride is still my favorite. Mostly because of the missions and unlockables. Don't Run With A Plasma Sword felt like a step in the right direction.

Don't Run With A Plasma Sword is probably my favorite runner-type game. Awesome power-ups/abilities and platforming. Definitely a great game, wish they would release more content or do a sequel.

Frozen Synapse iPad preview

Looks good, glad they are paying so much attention to the UI, cross platform MP as well...

This, along with BG:EE are going to make the iPad even more of a stand-out for gaming, it's already considered part of the multi platform arena with games like MTG getting simultaneous release.

How in-app purchase-y is it, though? I hate when I end up paying for something only to run into a grind-or-pay wall.

Asphalt 6 didn't have a paywall, for what it's worth. Just coins to unlock cars, which could easily be earned through career mode.

Have you played Hook Worlds? It's an endless runner with 4 modes, each of which is a different spin on the genre. Most of them have a fun grapple mechanic and the best one has a gun in it. Very enjoyable and addictive game.
