More of you need to get XL Baseball. It's been out awhile, and is a simple game, but it's a lot of fun. Just not very many people on my friends list have played it.

edit: works on ipad, and I think it's free

Metal Slug 3..buy now people!

Universal, optional scanlines, glorious Retina (yes, on iPad 3...just disable the video filter.)

Replays, leaderboards, and unlockable gallery....and a level select.

Makes me want the whole gosh darn collection.

Yikes. Ear shattering sound from my iPad even with the sound turned all the way down. Insta-delete.

It's not shmup. The genre is called "Shooter".

Anything from Cave, yes.

Incorrect. They were "shooters" back in the day, but then first person shooters came on the scene. The commonly accepted nomenclature for these types of games among fans is now shmup.

:OOOOO does this run well? No stuttering?

There's slowdowns and stuttering when things get busy. Matches all of the previous Metal Slug experiences of my past (could be more slowdown here, I'm no expert.)

The pixels...so beautiful (iPad 3 here.) Just got done with an epic Bluetooth session with my son....so good.

Awesome... Looks like I gotta free up some space. That's definitely getting bought. I hope it's on android as well. Got a Nexus 7 coming in that I'd love to play this on. I really miss the days of sprite based games. MS3 blew my mind the first time I saw it

Deciding whether to buy Aquaria or Tiny WIngs HD tonight on my iPad.

PMed OP to add me to the list, but if anyone wants, just add Starsunder in the Gamecenter.

Well, what kind of game do you wanna play? An endless runner (now with mini bonus levels)? Or a metroidvania adventure game? Both look great on the new iPad btw.

Didn't someone on here say that most games with v. buttons are compatible with the iCade, through a JB extension? What's the name of that?

There's a patch out now for Subway Surfers which cleans up a lot of the problems with the previous version (freezing, lag, crashing, etc.). Also, you no longer get duplicate tokens for characters you've unlocked and there are 5 new characters.

I'm glad they patched it because it's a great running game that was overshadowed by bugs and glitches. Just let it connect to Game Center before you start running and it's smooth sailing.

It's a really weird move considering he is more or less giving away a sequel for free. But then again, he needs the money.

Check out the different boardgames, and if they want to try some co-op but still competitive give Fingle a shot.

Fruit Ninja HD!

I'd imagine most of the board games too.

Besides Multiponk and Fruit Ninja HD, there's also Mirror's Edge HD.

Marble Mixer obviously

Here's what I have in my "2-Player Games" folder:

Dizzypad HD
Battle of the Block
Harbor Master
Fingle
Fruit Ninja HD
Znipball
Orbital HD
Soccer Rally
Mirror's Edge HD
Tiny Wings HD

And here's a list for 4+ players:

Funny Slap
Achtung
King of Opera
Ticket to Ride
Slice HD
Slingshot
OLO
Bloop
Yahtzee

As far as I know, all of these titles work on the iPad 1.

Thanks guys! The weather is not that great today so, I'll check to titels out.

Blutrol.

It works beautifully. One can easily map just about any game to work with icade or icontrolpad with it. Worth JBing for Blutrol alone.

speaking of icade, it's bluetooth right? Could you technically play metal slug on the iphone with the icade?
I guess you could, yeah. Only reason I don't is because if I'm playing on the iCade, my iPad is close to hand.

I can't see any reason it wouldn't work though. As you say, it's just a Bluetooth controller.

I'm glad to hear about this! When I first played Temple Run it was like a revelation but I hate tilting, and I LOVE the way SS plays similarly but is entirely swipe-based.

SS just has so much charm and personality I just don't know why if isn't bigger.

I recently got myself an iPad 2 (32gb, smartcover included, mint condition for 260€!!! (used a 10€ coupon and 10% cashback but still...) ) so I thank all of you for this thread!

I really like poin't'n'click and I'd like to try the new ones, made by Telltale (puzzle agent, bttf...) have they already be on sale, like 99cts ?

I don't know if already mentioned, but I'm personally having a total blast playing Pocket Heroes with my old D&D friends.
If they polish it a bit and support properly, it will be HUGE.

The game seems to be fun - they need to add the ability to play with randoms so you can get more games running. That and give you a confirmation button before ending turn and quick access to an "undo move" button. I've moved instead of scrolled before (which has pretty much screwed me over for a turn).

Caved on Metal Slug. I kinda agree with Smoky that on the Iphone it is a bit hard to control, it is passable imo but it is a bit rough. A little slow down from time to time but not much more than the normal game. I look forward to playing it on my ipad later.

Nightfall in offer at 79cent! Just bought, still have to finish the tutorial! Looks good as everyone is saying!

Oh for f~
I just bought the game last last weekend, god I hate these sudden pricedrops that seem to always happen right after I decide to get something...

As an old D&D player (which the game tries to mimic) personally I think the 'play with randoms' is a 'stupid' thing.
The game mimics the old D&D sessions...I would never play with a random guy (and be stuck forever in the campaign).
I play with close friends or people found in the forums committed and willing to play the game.
It's no Outwitters or Diablo 3 where I can hop in and out.
When started, I'm stuck with those players till the end of the campaign, so they are better to be interested and take their turns...I wouldn't trust a 'random people'.

As for the UNDO if you resync before submitting you will teleported to the start of the turn.
And, btw, there wasn't an UNDO in my D&D sessions :P (My DM was pretty nasty).
Joking I got what you are saying..I pressed in error the submit turn too.

The game has its quirks but it mimics perfectly the D&D sessions and I'm having ton of fun (playing 5 games, the most advanced one on quest 4).

Happended the same for me for Ascension. Bought it at 4€, 1 week later dropped at 79c for several weeks...

I think you're missing my point - it's an iOS game, not a D&D clone. Being able to play with ONLY my GC friends is a humongous pitfall of the multiplayer. Sure, you have a small group you can always play with - great. But I don't, and I would imagine I'm not the minority.

It's just not the right game then IMHO.
The whole point of the game, since its announcement, was exactly to mimic D&D with your friends just not gathered around the same table but async each one with their lives.
And, belive me, it works great (on iOS, yes).
Has many quirks, but that part works great.
If you have no friends to play with, I suggest you head for a forum like TA where they form groups and play the whole campaign.
It's not random or fast quests game, never was.

So Game Dev Story has been a massive hit for me, so much so that it's preventing me from getting anything done at work, how are Kairosoft Co's other games? Can I expect the same level of quality? Mega Mall Story and Pocket Academy look like fun concepts.

Same level of quality, but also very samey. The last two, especially this latest one, are probably the most Kairosoft have expanded on their formula. I've tried a few of them now, and they're all good games. But I never quite enjoyed any of 'em as much as I did GDS. I think the whole premise and the awesome nods to that type of nerdom just made it all the more fun for me.
