People who have no clue how long I've posted here, yet bitch about things that were deemed acceptable here over a decade ago have some nerve piping up. Would me calling you a nobody prove anything? It's the word "peace". Get a damn grip. PEACE.
signatures haven't been used in forever and youre using that as a comparison? Seriously, stop with the peace thing. I used a signature on forums too...when I was 11.

Basketball is an international sport in the same way American Football is: Other people play it, but our culture props it up so highly that we're going to dominate. See: why we suck in international soccer/football.

Basketball is quite popular in France with a decent championship. US got a clean win but if we had to explain this loss, well Noah is injured and our team had a difficult preparation. (Especially for Parker & Batum)

But despite this loss we can still hope for a medal.

Hey guys, I have a question I hope someone can answer. So I'm watching Olympic soccer and it got me wondering just how seriously the teams were taking the games. I mean, I imagine winning the World Cup is the penultimate goal of a soccer player, not winning the gold medal. Similarly, the U.S. basketball team will (presumably?) care little for getting a gold medal as much as they do winning the NBA Finals.

So exactly how seriously are the Olympics taken when the sport is superseded by a professional sports league? Is anyone going to risk playing injured when they need to be 100% a year or two from now?

i dont want to be a disruptive dick, but i am pretty sure you mean ultimate, not penultimate. penultimate means second to last or, in this context, second best i guess.

how good is this other (clothed) womens beach volleyball team for the US? any chance of two medals in this sport?

i have never really watched or played water polo (im pretty sure i would drown, that looks tough) but that US - montenegro match was great to watch.

NBC will skip everything tonight and show us like mens volleyball and men basketball tonight.

I mean shit, US loses in 4x100 relay, the captain of the women's gymnastics team fails to qualify, and who knows what the fuck else happens.

We love our silver medals though.

As far as I can tell it is. As for Germany, it's our worst opening since 1980, just really disappointing so far. I've been watching disappointment over disappointment all day, with the occasional victory that means absolutely nothing yet (such as Görges winning).

i hear you man, we're kinda on the same boat. pretty disappointing start so far. we're operating on a much smaller level though.

>Switches to Football
>Rewinds a few seconds
>watches goal
>Great goal
>Switches back to swimming

I love the BBC <3

It feels like something out of the future. Is it unique for now? I don't recall having heard of any international TV station offering that service, although it's not exactly something I've been deliberately on the lookout for.
