Sydney effect wearing off perhaps? 12 yrs is a generation of athletes i guess. Otherwise I thought Australia faired ok economically in the last four years compared with a lot of countries.

It's called a libero. Basically its a player specialized in defense that can replace any back player at any given time. They can't, however, get the ball past the net

I still can't get over how astonishing that performance was in the cycling. Absolutely mind bogglingly incredible.
They are the libero, defensive specialist. They can't play at the net so no spiking. Have a 6 foot 6 libero would take away a good spiker. Plus, its harder to dig when you are a giant.
Shouldn't it start half hour ago according to schedule??

What are the rules in swimming relays regarding diving in after your teammate is done with his/her swim? Can you only jump after s/he touches the wall, or can you only enter the water after s/he touches the wall?

Like I said before, there's no guarantee that Pendleton will win Gold in this upcoming race but I hope she does so she can end her Olympic career on a high.
I believe the rule is that your feet can't leave the platform until your teammate touches the wall.

Yeah, the Keirin is far more of a lottery. Still every opportunity though, and after Pendleton's last night gold would be amazing.

Did you watch the match? Rodgers had no lift what so ever and was favoring his right leg, and Dalhausser's injuries are numerous. They basically played younger versions of themselves in the Italian team and were a step slow.
