If there was one thing Australia had going for it it was sports...what happened

Sydney effect wearing off perhaps? 12 yrs is a generation of athletes i guess. Otherwise I thought Australia faired ok economically in the last four years compared with a lot of countries.

I knew it was a bad omen when they lost to that one nation that doesn't have beaches.....

It's funny because they actually got through to the quarter-finals.

Rogers and Dalhausser are old with just too many injuries. They were great champions but it's time for them to go

That's not fair to them. They're ranked number 2 in the world.

Besides, Ricardo and Emanuel are just as old and they're still going too.

I can't for the 2016 Olympics which will be a much better time zone for me to watch stuff live.

Being 5 hours behind London I'm missing seeing everything that's happening on weekdays while I'm at work. :(

Watching Brazil vs. China in Women's Volleyball.

I know it was asked earlier, but why are the shortest players in the team wearing a different jersey than the rest of their teammates?

Whew, only now could I get away from work. What's the thing to watch? I'm trying to catch up with the first day of athletics (it's like 4 hrs of it) so just asking for what, in your opinion, have been the highlights of the day guys. Thanks in advance.

It's called a libero. Basically its a player specialized in defense that can replace any back player at any given time. They can't, however, get the ball past the net

They are the libero, defensive specialist. They can't play at the net so no spiking. Have a 6 foot 6 libero would take away a good spiker. Plus, its harder to dig when you are a giant.

What are the rules in swimming relays regarding diving in after your teammate is done with his/her swim? Can you only jump after s/he touches the wall, or can you only enter the water after s/he touches the wall?

I believe the rule is that your feet can't leave the platform until your teammate touches the wall.

It 4AM, but no way am I sleeping with the fencing final coming on. Just watched the bronze decider, never knew it was so damn good :o

Did you watch the match? Rodgers had no lift what so ever and was favoring his right leg, and Dalhausser's injuries are numerous. They basically played younger versions of themselves in the Italian team and were a step slow.
