Growth spurt that is early before the birthing stuff starts taking energy. It isn't uncommon for female swimmers to sometimes plateau when they're around 13. World class ones get lucky and plateau later and have bodies that never devote as much caloric intake to the monthly cycle.

I'm not salty about the result, just the overhyped approach to it. Swimming in the UK needs a kick up it's backside if they want a bigger medal haul. They've got about a million finals in swimming so that's really the only way.

Cycling, rowing, swimming. Those should be our three main sports.

Well to be fair he wasn't calling out her age, but how she won it. Her last lap was faster than Lochte's in the same race lol. And then he went on to talk about differences in stroke rate, etc. It still sounds like sour grapes though but I don't think age was the complaint.
