Ok strong language.

However, It was never going to happen. Conditions are not right for sprinting records. Some people were being ridiculous....some predicting 9.3 -.-

Haha, you're still bitter about the 9.3. I guess you totally missed the joke where the guy said he'd give out $1000 if Bolt went under it.

Michael Johnson is such a great professional. Lewis and Jackson screaming and Johnson writing notes.

Because they didn't show it live and their online streaming failed for many people, probably because so many of us suddenly realized they were really going to show horse jumping and commercials on NBC during the 100m final of the Olympic games.

Oh, my stream was fine. That does suck.

And yeah I wasn't expecting NBC to stream this live.

I don't even know. My head is full of fuck. NBC should issue a nationwide apology for their fail.

Now come on they have to shove a few adverts in the middle of the 100m race to get all that advertising revenue and it has to be shown prime time so advertisers will pay top dollar for that advertising space (yes this was sarcasm it stinks the way the Americans have had to put up with this).

He just said to the BBC he was being careful because of being worried about a false start.
That's the thing, these starts are crazy, Bolt getting a perfect start is like a what, 1 in 100? Especially after his DQ he's careful

From what I've heard they delay events so they can increase ad $ and fill them with commercials, so most events aren't live - even the men's 100m final wasn't live. I'd say that's quite a big fail.

THIS.

they were showing fucking horseback jumping on the main NBC channel in the US instead of this final.

No... he's the fastest runner in one event, specifically the short distance of 100 metres. That's it. The celebrity surrounding him is disproportionate to what he can do.

you're just going to move the goal posts in any conversation about this, so why would anyone even want to discuss this with you? you can say that about any sport and any event. gtfo.

Have a weird request: in the past OT people were linking that emote with a smile face and his arms up. Anyone know it off hand?

It's the purest form of human competition. I don't get what's not to get.

This. It's also something that anybody can do, no matter of their financial background since it takes no equipment or fancy facilities to train. A

Also, who here has never raced against their friends to see who's the fastest?

Wait, NBC didn't show this live?

What the fuck is wrong with that network?

Effing CTV showed this live. And we don't even have anyone competing in it!

LOL

All of the men in the 100m have amazing bodies. *.*

Still ridiculous that people found to use performance-enhancing drugs are allowed to compete in the Olympics. Should be caught once, out for life.

The 100M is where you see the highest speed because they give it their all from the start since there is not enough distance to need to conserve energy.

Hope they use the stadium/TV cameras to work out who it was that threw the bottle on to the track at the start.

In any other distance pacing matter more than overall speed and acceleration.

100m represents the fastest a human can cover distance without assistance.

it's silly to even have to answer his question, considering the answer is self-evident to even small, unlearned children.

Besides the whole fastest man in the world aspect, anyone can relate to 100m sprint as a competition as it's something virtually everyone experiences as a kid

Why not show it twice and charge big bucks for both sets of ads.

I watched most of the 96 Olympics on a TV like this in my dorm room in New Zealand where we only had three TV channels, and somehow that gave me a better experience for the Mens 100m final than trying to watch it on NBC in 2012 with a 25 mbps FIOS connection and full cable TV package.

Ridiculous.

I tend not to root much while watching but Bolt's iconic run in China has stayed in my memory over these years so I was in full rooting mode for that run. It was an incredible race!
