Plus, if you go up with your hands at your sides, it's less likely to be called handball. It's one of the extra benefits of protecting your nuts in the wall. Your hands stay by their sides when you jump. PEACE.

the thing though is that the first half, while horrible, it had a more neutral calls.

The second half though has been VERY one sided when it comes to the calls, not calling that penalty against the US, calling that penalty against Canada, then not calling that out of field ball.....

Disgusting really

I know of the women hit had her arm raised. I just mentioned in another post that in the men's game, you usually cup your balls to protect your nuts when in the wall. So when you jump, your arms are always down. Raise them at any time and you're inviting a penalty. PEACE.
 
I hope it goes down to penalty shootout. GAF will explode with drama.

This pole vault final was pretty meh, only 4,75. Well at least Jennifer deserves it.

Boxing's been really silly during this Olympics. I have no idea what some people are thinking when judging or officiating it.

90% of handball decisions in the men's game is also flawed. Some refs do not care whether it was intentional or not, if it hits the hand and the crowd appeal they are likely to make that split second decision to give the penalty. You rarely ever see a player intentionally using his hand in the box to defend. But pens for it are still given.

It exists in the rulebook, but to be so strict about a minor, minor rule like that in a match of such importance is unheard of.

I can't recall ever seeing it applied either in a professional game.

A big problem with football at the moment is the handball rule. The laws of the game specifically state that for it to be handball it has to be deliberate. For me that means purposely moving your hand towards the ball. However referees will often award penalties even when it is clear that the handball was not deliberate.

Either the laws have to change to make it an offence for the ball to hit a hand regardless of the intent of the player or ensure referees only award if absolutely sure that it was delliberate.

To be honest, Women's Football is a complete joke apart from a couple of national teams.
 
So what is up with the empty seats at Old Trafford? Ticket availability? Price? To not even fill the bottom terrace is just disgraceful, even more so with a match as entertaining as this has been (I've seen worse games played at the Premiership level at Old Trafford).
 
This is the first women's soccer match I think I've ever watched. The amount of turnovers, unforced, and mindless, is fucking crazy.
 
How many judges are there in boxing?

Do they all talk about the score before giving it?

Would doing it like diving work best where they all say how many points there were separately then eliminate the highest and lowest then average?
