Hmmm. I just added you, but when I go to the "Friends" section on Happy Street, I don't see you on the Globe.

MikeD right? Im in your village right now. Maybe it just takes a few minutes to update.

Also, what the hell does Peppin need all these pens for?!! I swear this is the 5th one ive made for him

I won't be getting an iPad mini until they are Retina. Anything less than Retina would seem like a downgrade from my iPad 2.

The iPad mini will have something like 50% of the regular ipad's screensize. If it boasts the iPad 2 resolution, it should look sharp.

Got it-I just force quit the app, and then when I went back to the map-whammo-all the friends showed up.

The ads seem to have disappeared now

Dev posted on TA :
Sorry for the ads, I wanted to test them over the night and it was definitely too frequent.

They are now turned off, we don't want to make any money from them, but from times to times, you might see one ad per day maybe, to help some other devs. And in that case, it's not to make some money but to exchange clicks/installs so we can drive more installs to Happy Street.

We will do something special for the ones bought IAP.

The Jurassic Park game is far too addictive. So far I have spent $10 on it for a dinosaur, but only because I wanted to support the devs. I didn't need to IAP and I haven't IAP'd since. Get it! It's a lot of fun, especially if you're into Theme Park, etc.

Just started this yesterday, it seems fun but I seem to hit the wait or pay wall really fast. Not alot to do at first because I needed to grind for in game coins. It seems well made but I hope it opens up quick. Another game I wish I could just outright buy. Will give it a bit longer though.

I'm the same.

Pay wall = delete

I hate paying for in game currency and for that reason I hate 99% of freemium games. I just want a complete full game for a single price.

Monster Life just sent me notification telling me my monsters miss me. Yea, time to uninstall.

I typically don't pay money in freemium games but there have been some exceptions. Snoopy, Tiny Towers, Pocket Planes. I told myself I wouldn't spend any money in Happy Street but I may, anyway, just to support the game a bit.

Gasketball is out this week. From the team behind Solipskier. Not as pretty, but it looks very fun.

Awesome. Will definitely get that.

Jurassic Park is fun, but it gets pretty tedious quickly. I made it to level 13 before moving on to other things.

Anyone play enough Dead Trigger to have suggestions on what to buy with my gold? I was stupid and grabbed the Minigun (it really should tell you that there are NO ammo drops for it...piece of shit really...), but I also grabbed the rifle and one of the machine guns. Things are pretty solid, but if there are any other things worth spending gold on, I'm down.

There is no pay wall in Jurassic Park I think, you can grind out coins forever if you want.

A few special dinosaurs may require IAP though since I think you only earn cash from leveling up and you'll max level eventually and I don't think you'll have earned enough cash to unlock all the special dinosaurs.

This is the very definition of a pay wall.

Stop shitting on my team. Start shitting on my finger.
But you don't need to unlock T-Rex to continue to play the game.

I consider a pay wall something where you can't progress without spending money.

Yeah, a paywall is only sth where you're stuck at a choice between spending IAP or grinding for hours.

As others have said, it is not a pay wall. You can forever play the game and never be forced to pay for the Brachiosaurus. I'm level 15 right now and am still happily playing away. There is nothing in Jurassic Park that has made me feel like I *had* to spend money to progress. And in all of my time playing JP, I've only seen two dinosaurs that require in-game cash, which can either be grinded for or purchased outright.

When I think of a paywall, I think of what I encountered in GamEvil's Punch Hero. Where your progress crawled to a glacial pace and you had to win 30-40 matches just to level up enough to beat the next opponent.

Im loving the shit out of Dead Trigger, and I can't wait to play it on a next-gen device. My poor ol' iPod Touch can barely handle it.

I'm thinking of buying my girls a nexus 7 for Xmas so they can play Dead Trigger and all the other great games out there. I figure a Nexus will be better for them than a 3ds.

Anywho, for like 40 gold you can pick up the Enfield which, while a slow rifle, is pretty much a one hit gib machine.

Generally I roll with the ak47 and the Enfield. I may switch to the m4 instead of the AK though, since it's kinda a pain to get gold for free to upgrade it.

Almost definitely gonna pay out for Dead Trigger though.

I don't agree with that definition of a pay wall. If there's content that's locked until you pay for it, then it's behind a pay wall. It's nothing to do with how quickly or how far you can progress without paying, if there's something, anything at all, that you can't do without paying then it's behind a pay wall. Even if it's optional.

If you can grind for three weeks to go up to the next level but you can do it for free, then that's not a pay wall. It's just really slow.

I think it can be considered a pay wall when it's an unreasonable amount of grinding.

And I hope most people continue to use that definition, because at least to me an unreasonable amount of grinding is effectively a pay wall since I won't be doing that much grinding for a game that usually isn't even all that great to begin with.

"Slow" can be used when the developer misses the mark even though they aim for balance. Pay wall is when the dev is clearly trying to squeeze money out of you.

I got the M14 early on, upgraded it fully, and it's lasted me quite a while. I've had the game on my phone since release day. I also spent some gold on health upgrades and inventory spaces, I think.

Grabbed the Enfield last night and really enjoying that as well. I need to upgrade it since on hard missions, it still takes 1-2 hits on average zombies.

I will likely upgrade my health via gold. How is auto-heal? Is it worth it? I don't use items as I find them to be a waste on missions, but I may bring them with me in the arena if I get into that.

My mom is giving me her old iPad today (I think it's a 2? There is 3 different ones now I think?) and Ive never had one, and was wondering what kind of games it has that I may of not played or may not have been necessarily viable on my iPhone. I didn't see a list in the OP so thought I'd post.

I think the most confusing thing about Happy Street is that someone in my friendlist (Krouki? Are you here?) seems to be living in the middle of the Atlantic.

They are on my list also. I think it's someone from the developer who is on everyone's list. Not sure why they put themselves out in the middle of the ocean like that lol

Yeah, one of the early quests needs you give something to a friend or something, so that friend is there for people who don't have proper friends/a connection

Man, does anyone else ever get overwhelmed with the number of virtual villages/etc they have to check on a daily basis?

I'm fairly far along in Snoopy's Street Fair and Trade Nations so these I only check once a day, sometimes twice. The nice thing about Trade Nations is being able to TapJoy to get beans for premium items... honestly if I had discovered TapJoy earlier, I'd probably still be playing Smurf's Village.

On top of that I have Tiny Tower which I had previously maxed out but now I check it a few times a day to try and get the new floors that were added in the last update. Pocket Planes is a few more times a day and I'll most likely stick with it for a long time.

Now I've got Happy Street, and Tiny Village on my phone (because I need at least one on my phone).

Sorry to rant, but how do you all deal with managing all your time management games? I've toyed with the idea of deleting Snoopy but I've gotten really far without buying any bucks and still have almost all the characters, but even getting rid of that would only save me 5 minutes a day. On average, how many of these are people managing at any given time?

I guess I'm lucky that I'm kinda particular (I don't like crop withering bullshit, stamina systems, and battling/pvp) although I've tried and deleted a bunch including Smurf's Village, that Oregon Trail village one, and the abysmal buggy CastleCraft... but I don't seem to pick up new games that easily.

I only play 2-3 of them at a time. It's hard for me to handle much more than that.

I try to stick to one town management game and one asynchronous multiplayer game at a time, it gets too overwhelming for me otherwise and I stop enjoying it.

Well holy shit, this Jurassic Park games has a higher and quicker pay wall than Monster Life, which is pretty damn hard to do.

Level 15 here and I agree. Don't know what s/he is seeing. At level 15 I've only seen two dinos that require the cash currency to buy.

It's ridiculously slow to earn money. One day's worth of waiting equals about 500 coins for me, can't even get to the 3000 mark to upgrade the meat shop or whatever it is.

I've long been a freemium defender but most of these recent efforts are pitiful, Happy Street being the exception.

You're playing it wrong I guess. I only play a few minutes a day and have no problem raking in the gold. Upgrade your harbors as soon as you're allowed to, dump all your gold into that, and upgrade your best gold generating dinosaurs up to lvl 10. Either favor the quick gold generators if you check a lot, or the slow but large value gold generators if you check infrequently. Also, do all the missions as soon as you can, they all have cash rewards that you can re-invest in upgrading harbors and dinosaurs.
