I do not get it how they put basseball out and keep dressage since the firts one is more universally played.

Because a form of horse sports were in the ancient Olympics similar reason as to why Wrestling is still included.

3 day eventing is well supported and 'played' by lots of countries, including the US who have been very strong in the past.

Is there an individual cross-country equestrian event? If not there should be.
