The Dutch commentator says pretty accurate stuff. Keeps on talking about making half turns and bla bla. I don't really see it, but that commentator is jizzing his pants :P

EDIT

Dutch commentator predicts this run will be the highest score so far. Let's see...

i watched it on BBC and German TV: German rider the German guy is head over heels in love with the horse, rider and performance while the BBC guys criticise literally everything and vice versa with a british rider.

Bit biased, non? :P

EDIT

LOL, Live and Let Die!!!

I'd assume the picky interpretation is probably the one that gives a better idea of how they'd actually perform

Holy shit. Doing her performance to The Great Escape? Now that's taking the piss!

What is interesting today? I know woman volleyball and football only.

And anyone think regular volleyball is much more exciting than beach one? The beach one scores too easily.

Norway - South Korea in the women's handball semi final in one hour. They met in the group stage, where it ended 27-27. They also met in the semi final in Beijing, where Norway won with a goal at the same time as the time ran out. Was an awesome match, much better than the final. Two of the definite best teams in the world, with Norway being the reigning World and Olympic Champions.

Horsey dancing! The horse ballet has got the Guardian guy more excited about the Olympics than anything to come before (or will come after it). I have to say, watching a bit of it the other day was incredibly bizarre.

All this Canada talk got me thinking..
Do Canadians feel that Canada underperforms at the summer Olympics?

Very much so and it pisses me off.

There are many very good athletes here (they are a dime a dozen in places like Pickering for example...potential track stars everywhere) but the country itself doesn't give a shit or puts in any real money if it isn't hockey or rowing.

Too many times I hear about potential track stars that just either give it up or move to USA to get proper funding and training. Staying in Canada is almost completely throwing your potential away.

I always hope that Canada's crappy showings at summer olympics will light a fire under their asses to actually put some money towards their athletics, but it never happens. They are always like "oh well we did well enough" and "we are more of a winter sports country" and other crap like that. According to the media Canada is doing very well. With one gold medal. Are you fucking serious?

...so yeah, it really pisses me off. Let's cheer on our heroes from Nova Scotia and Alberta! /rolleyes

How different is this compared to cross country cycling?

It's like a mix of mountain bike racing, cross-country cycling and criterium racing. Many short laps featuring pavement, wooded trails, grass, steep hills and obstacles requiring the rider to quickly dismount, carry the bike while navigating the obstruction and remount.

Season is in winter when the conditions are the worst and the tracks are lined with tens of thousands of drunk fans cheering them on.

What? Did the upper crust bring us another gold?

We'll take it.

Edit: LOL Lottery funding for dressage? Aren't the horses alone worth £1m+?
