BBC commentators just said that the owners of two of the horses which have won GB gold were refusing massive offers left and right in the run up to the Olympics. They deserve massive props for that.

The boxing judges are not unrelated. If you are going to bar people from the Olympics because they break some view of sanctity that the games have then letting people continue to work who have proven their ineptitude is a fucking disgrace. The Olympics are not a holier than holy event, especially when corruption and zero penalties are given to officials. Punish the athletes for anything they do outside of competition but leave the officials alone for shit they do at their job.
I dont know much about it either, but there was a documentary on German TV about the dark side of equestrian. It's crazy rollkur, elektroshocks etc. and they interviewed the Rath family about using Rollkur and they said something along the lines: "We tried to train the horse without it, but when a horse is used to it / grew up / was trained with it, it's nearly impossible to change methods."

Btw. according to the documentary the next big thing will be cloning horsed, so that gelded horses can father offsprings. Many horses are already cloned but so far the Federation doesnt allow them to be used in competitions.
