Yeah, it's horrible, they should give her bronze as well, simply because it messed up the entire competition. It's interesting that apparently after Heidler's throw she got two contradicting statements, one that the throw was (accurately) in the system, the other the "official" measurement.

What makes it worse for me is they basically admitted there was a mistake/error and therefore let Heidler have a re-throw (which she accepted).

Once that had happened, any result going forward should have stood. I don't think they should have gone back and looked for that throw again once Heidler had accepted the re-throw.

So is it all but confirmed that doc rivers will be USA coach in Rio 2016? I feel it basically is.

its got to the point where certain nations are gunna be recognized for their flops and ignored accordingly. Argentina. Spain.

I saw it back in round 1/round 2. It's been sloppy this entire tourney.

the Americans didn't win a single medal in men's boxing?
A impressive 17 year old girl saved their chops, she was pretty impressive and was giddy and estactic throughout the medal ceremony, understandable.

There was bullshit in team fencing as well (German fencing team got screwed), a German (heptathlon) was falsely disqualified at first (they mistook her for another woman), the hammer throw case of today. There was also other stuff, the badminton scandal, plenty of dubious/close decisions in cycling, boxing judges, apparently there was something wrong with pole vault jumping of the women etc.

It's like there was an internal competition among the judges on who could fuck up the most. Any decisions that were close/bullshit that I missed ?

Edit:
JAJAJA, bronze in taekwondo for us.

Can't think of any at the moment but I think you have most of the bad mistakes said.

i like how in fencing the time keeper was a 15 yr old volunteer.
And they tried to give her some random medal when they flopped her final gold medal match chances. Also I think they need to change that rule of making someone stay on the fencing podium until the appeal is finalised, that's just evil.

The hockey medal ceremony is taking forever. The officials kiss all the girls.

Just look at these ladies!

What? This is true? Did she have any experience in fencing before?
Yes its true, the timekeeper for that match was a British 15 year old volunteer. Explains why that 1 second lasted that long.

The entire (sudden death) system there is just bullshit. It's interesting that the last time I checked in a fencing forum (the one fuenf mentioned a while ago) there was still a debate going on as to who should've won. Apparently fencing has quite a lot of rules.

And it wasn't adhered to in that match, but yeah such important matches shouldn't really be left to a 15 year old, a timekeeper no less.
