You know he's going to die, right ;
I've only recently started watching Game of Thrones. I was reading some TV preview of this new Accused drama earlier today and it started off by saying: (GoT spoiler)
"the last time Sean Bean was on our screens, he was being grusomely beheaded..."
.

I was like, 'thanks a lot'.

Who is she?

I heard a rumour if you get 4 Gold olympic medals you can receive a Knighthood from the Queen (if you're in the commonwealth) if true it means Bolt will get one :-D

Yeah but every teenage girl in the country has never heard of Luke Campbell before today.

Indeed. And I know how these things work, but it's nice to slip into a state of naivety for the Olympics and just appreciate great athletes in their respective fields. Even the BBC can't manage that, though.

Woow dude, that sucks big time :(

Oh don't worry, they'll be back.
While the Murdocs still exist and have such power over our government, those calls will never go away.

Those fuckers hate the BBC because it interferes with their Sky plans and makes it difficult/impossible to put their news websites behind pay-walls when there's a great source 'freely' available.

How come Canada is so low in the medal tables?
I mean, they are a huge fucking first-world nation that sent a ton of athletes, right?

(Excuse my ignorance, I know nothing of Canada)

Yeah, when I chose to watch BBC for some stuff, their coverage is unparalleled. They do a much better job than CTV cuz they're publicly-funded (and thus no commercials). (Heck we get a BBC news channel here and I don't even think it has commercials from what I've seen.)

And their player is great.

I suppose that other events aren't covered as widely and as expansively as this.

Formula One was.

They are larger than the US in land, but have a smaller population than the state of California.

The more you know...

They give a similar level of coverage for F1, at least when they have the rights to show them live. 1-2 hours pre-race, race, 1 hour post race, 1 hour post-post race on red button. All with no adverts.

Media in Canada is going to say that we had a good Olympics because of medal count but one gold is not good enough. The Canadian team had numerous people who were world champions or former world champions that just failed completely. We had a lot of surprise bronzes from people that were no where near the radar but a lot of our top athletes had very poor showings. Olympics is where you give your best. So happy for our surprise like high jump dude and the 4x100 relay team but there should be no excuses coming from the people I have been hearing about for weeks who were horrid.

Yeah, we are quite shit at sports in general that doesn't involve snow, but at least there is one sport we dominate.

Handball!!!!

And somehow you guys managed to defeat us (The Netherlands) at the last Euros. Still bugs me :(

But as an Ajax fan I love Danish football players :)

Fairly certain they have never been strong when it comes to Summer sports. They perform much better, to no surprise, in the Winter games (had most gold in Vancouver).

What ver the BBC get to broadcast sports wise they tend to do a very good job. Wimbledon is broadcast across multiple "red button" channels for example. Their coverage of the six nations is brilliant and even given the fact that they cannot broadcast premier league football except as highlights they still do a good job with that. This Olympics they had 24 HD channels so you could see whatever you wanted. They really went all out. Anytime there is a major event or big news everyone turns to the BBC. ITV is shit, Sky news is a joke (although their sports coverage is good).

Canada's top athletes tend to play hockey
And we only have 30 million people
And athletes aren't overly funded by the government except the ones that competed in Vancouver
