The closing ceremony should be an announcement to all people in the stadium to GTFO.
Aye, I love the modern pentathlon, but the riding part seems really random. You could get a horse that really doesn't like the rider, then you're fucked.I hope they don't drop the modern pentathlon, it's pretty great (except for the riding portion).

Culture capital of the world right there, he should know!

They should add a Paintball tournament to the olympics as a variant of shooting.
I have to say, I love watching lots of obscure sports like table tennis, horse dancing and basketball for a few weeks. Its such a nice change from the usual.![]()

The Rio 2016 games better be a two week long carnival with some sports on the side, if not then they're missing a trick.
BBC 1's re-running the boxing while they wait for the closing ceremony.

How quickly they forget about "the great fire".Interestingly, the biggest fire that London has seen 'for years' is just down the road from the Olympic park

For all those people shouting about "wah wah wah, the US gets to send more people than other nations" you still have to qualify.
For example, if the US didn't make it outta the FIBAS tournament in basketball, they aren't going to the Olympics.
US doesn't just get to show up and have an automatic bid. Only the host nation gets that benefit.
???Yeah. I think the big winner here might be handball. Nobody had heard of it before this Olympics (including the GB team until 4 years ago) but now I'm hearing there's a lot of interest.
it will probably at least be 12 years till the olympics comeback to our timezone.![]()

That's part of the reason why host nations receive an average 40% medal bump in their final tally. More teams sent = more opportunities to medal.
I think a lot of the USA's success has to do with the mentality surrounding competitive sports. There is a lot more emphasis on it from a young age when compared with countries like the UK.And my point is, the US only gets to send so many teams/athletes because we qualify and have to qualify just like all the other non-host nations.
