ugly opening win.
but in conf, and no more option for the season, ill take it.
Michigan was only ranked that high because they were playing Alabama first. The inevitable win had to come from a "top ten" team to make it more impressive for the SEC illuminati who control college football now
Is the option more effective later in the season when they have it down to a science, or have defensive coordinators figured out its weaknesses by that point?

Haha, so true.See, someone on his way to his final exam spit on this spot in Nineteen Aught Six, and then he got an A. So ever since, this has been called this Spittin' Hole. Fish aren't allowed to spit in it, and if they're caught, they have to hop on one leg for the rest of the day. WHOOP!
It's more that you don't have time to devote to practicing how to stop it. The triple option has been around forever, so stopping it isn't rocket science for the defesnive coordinators. It's so different from anything else you will face that you have to change your whole gameplan to stop it.Is the option more effective later in the season when they have it down to a science, or have defensive coordinators figured out its weaknesses by that point?

Just look at the other teams in the spots around Michigan. Alot of them performed poorly/substandard.
Michigan gets destroyed and stays 8th? Wisconsin barely wins and stays 12th?
Just how many I-AA teams are you dudes playing?Thankfully FSU performed as they should, by hanging 69 points on an FCS team. Can't exactly say that for other teams ranked around them. I expect them to top 69 against Savannah State.
:jnc @ mre's AP poll.
Needed more SEC teams to be believable.![]()
Saban talked about something like this in his PC. Specifically playing Georgia Southern late last year. The Option was so different than anything else they played, and since it was at the end of the year, which meant limited prep time, the Option killed us (which it did). So, I think later in the season is worse for teams to face GT. They've gotten better at it, while opposing teams have spent most of the season prepping for more "standard" types of offenses, and not for the Option.
Just how many I-AA teams are you dudes playing?

I needed five straight days of college football directly into my veins. Now there are just three days until I fly out to Columbus.
Oklahoma State started with 23 straight plays against Savannah State without a Spike Factor play en route to an 18% grade.
The Oregon Ducks saw 21% of their offensive plays eligible for Spike Factor inclusion, though that number was only 18% (8/44) when Marcus Mariota was taking the snaps.
Most impressive of all was West Virginia, coming up with Spike Factor plays only 12% of the time on offense. Seven of their thirteen drives didn't even have a single S.F. snap.
WASHINGTON STATE, 44% - You can go ahead and start making Jeff "Tuel Time" jokes now because holy shit have you watched a Home Improvement rerun in the last four years? That shit is terrible. Washington State-in-this-game terrible.
MICHIGAN, 42% - Let's go to Nick Saban for reaction to the news that 60% of Michigan's plays on the first four Wolverine drives were as effective as spiking the ball:
![]()
PITT, 32% - Just go to your room.
BOISE STATE, 47%
That's a truly horrifying number, even considering Michigan State's defensive talent. Of Boise's ten drives, five had a 50% or higher Spike Factor. Poor Kellen Moore had to watch this shit on the sidelines. That's like starting a successful farming operation, retiring and putting your son in charge, and watching him turn it into an airport that only has US Airways flights.
Therefore, with the appropriate amount of disgust, we officially award the first Tetanus Spike to the Boise State Broncos. (We still think you'd probably beat Florida, for what it's worth.)
Aggies not to blame for the billboard? Still blaming the Aggies for the billboard.
Alabama moves up to No. 1 in latest poll. USC, LSU, Oregon and Oklahoma round out top five. Story upcoming.
Sorry, still learning the inbred lingo. No, aggies are at fault, but it's not from Texas A&M.
Dan Wetzel said:Texas A&M billboard boasts "Best Academics and Cleanest Program in SEC." Hint to Aggies: it's not trash talk if only Vandy is outraged

I felt kinda bad for Mike Leach during that BYU game. Obvoiusly I wanted my Cougars to win, but I really hope Leach finds success up at Washington State. I still feel like his dismissal from Texas Tech was ridiculous, and I'd love nothing more than for him to be just as, if not more, successful than he was before.
BYU looked good, but maybe WSU was just a step up from I-AA, I'm not sure. I didn't like how many FGs BYU kicked in the red zone.
I think Sheraton downtown at Capitol Square? That looks about right. As you can tell I'm not in charge of travel plans!YES YES, spend your money here! Where are you staying and have you made any plans or ideas what youre going to do around the bus?
First game, first year. I don't expect video game numbers until at least later in the season. It takes a while for him to get that machine running.
Possible I was being slightly sarcastic.I had 8 out of 14 in there! Which was, I think every SEC team that one except for Ole Miss, TAMU, and Tennessee (because screw the Vols!).

As for plans, I know one of the main ones is to try to find dive food places around the area for food. Then of course go out Saturday night.
Sure, but they just looked completely incapable. Heck, they wouldn't have even got the 6 points if the Pac-12 refs didn't keep moving the ball forward 15 yards for Pac-12 reasons. I guess the biggest issue he's facing is that it doesn't look like anybody on that offense is built to run his system at this time.
The talent as Wazzu wasn't exactly setting the world on fire in the first place. I say it takes another year, but he might be able to get a game or two this season with Leach magic.
Probably against Cal.
