yea but its the same as the old maybe even more scripted. im not here to play a bad movie. i also think gameplay makes graphics look worse in a way. and there was nothing impressive going on in that game other than some eye candy

If you liked BF3 then you'll probably like this one too. The SP is thrown in as a selling point. Who cares if you think the story is adequate or not. We're going to get amazing MP and we know it.

People just need to be patient. They're going to reveal some MP stuff soon. It's still like what? Probably 7+ months away before the game even releases.

It looks slightly better than BF3, and almost as linear and super-serious. Show me the multiplayer.

Also why the fuck didn't they bandage up the dude's leg?

There's a part where the protagonist leans out of a high speed moving vehicle and with one hand aims and fires a grenade launcher at an expensive, military grade helicopter that couldn't hit said vehicle in previous encounters. This all happens in slow motion while Bonnie Tyler's Total Eclipse of the Heart plays.

Come on, this is the dudebro game to end all dudebro games.

Total Eclipse of the Heart has to be this version.

You shed a tear at this moment.

Admit it.

BF3 was released on Ps3 and 360 and the PC version wasn't held back...

Man, what the fuck do you want from developers? It looked amazing. You have a level of expectation that is unrealistic.
Don't need to wrack your brain to come up with interesting gameplay scenarios other than just forcing a player through killrooms/pockets of enemies/setpieces (cross-posting from the other thread): Trailer left me feeling pretty much the same as I did towards the new Killzone: visuals are fuckin' impressive but gameplay hasn't evolve AT ALL. Show me smart enemy AI, working together in teams to eliminate you (for eg. one providing suppressive fire and another navigating through buildings and obstacles, flanking to get to you and your teammates). Show me the ability to defeat them using physics (fuckin hell it's a construction site, howabout letting me shoot down a pile hanging off a crane so that it drops on unsuspecting enemies. Or let a stack of cement pipes loose and roll into them)

But, then... how convenient that crane was placed so conveniently above the enemy soldiers?

If you want military simulation, play ARMA.

You know I appreciate this sentiment, but the truth is, the actual soldiering is ARMA is pretty shitty.

Even with the ARMAIII upgrades, the animation is still kinda bad and the moment to moment infantry combat leaves much room for improvement. It's a clunkfest. And clunk in and of itself isn't necessarily realistic.

That said it's the best at what it does... but it's not some silver bullet. There are many people (like me) looking for realism/sim that aren't exactly satiated by ARAM moment to moment infantry.

I'm actually disappointed that they're using a 7990 because I have a feeling drivers for this game on nvidia cards might suck within the first few months.

You're engaging them in a construction site. You've never seen those things hang off a crane in a similar setting before? It may be convenient, but not implausible. How convenient is it that an attack heli shoots a couple of missiles, your vehicle doesn't explode, the game then slows down allowing you to destroy it with one shot off your grenade launcher?

The explosions quality really surprised me. I just want to know how many players it supports in multiplayer on both current gen and next gen consoles.

BTW, is there a link to download the trailer in full HD?

If you're happy with the same old crap for the next 7 years, good for you!
Me on the other hand I've been playing since the 80's so that level of superficiality does nothing for me anymore. I'm sure it's still possible to innovate in the FPS genre but there's nothing to see here except smoke shadows. Woohoo!

To the people making the same complaints over and over about not seeing multiplayer footage - how different is it going to be? Same graphics, more people, same shooting, same explosions - jesus i cant believe the complaints on here. Its a reveal, just look at it and imagine more people running around and shooting at you. it's not that hard.
Single player isn't representative of the multiplayer at all.

OMFG bf3 multiplayer will be like this, huge map, etc

truth : 3 'decent' sized map at release , all with flag cluster.

It doesn't show squad size, map size, non-scripted destruction, player count, classes, game mod....

But hey we now know it will be good looking, sure didn't expect that, certainly the biggest thing I was afraid about after bf3.

Looked very impressive, but also seemed to look like just a really nice version of BF3. I guess that's what I should've expected though.

Single player looked cool, but I really care about multiplayer. OMAR COMIN'!

That Battlefield 4 theme at the end of the video.. holy shit how could they make it more obnoxious than 3?

Other sounds, though.. pretty damn impressive. Dice will always be at the top when it comes to sound design in games. The bit with the jeep and helicopter at the end gave me serious vibes of Half-Life 2...
