2013 PC Bullshot thread of "1 FPS? That's 1 screenshot per second"

Similar shot

Going to be addicted to this for a while now I think....

Fuck, sorry, said I would cut down on posting these but after getting into the game again on hardware that doesn't sound like it's taking off on max settings, this game is amazing.

Would easily be in my top 5 games of the generation if it wasn't for the cutscenes. Rockstar basically wrote the textbook on how to ruin a godly game in 3 easy steps with this one.

ive asked this already but how intesive is this uh tech demo ?

Can it run on a 660 ?

its amazingly detailed but the DOF level is just overkill in there.

The DoF is absolutely a bit much, but it's still gorgeous. I was getting about ~20fps at 4K on a GTX 590. A 660 would be able to run it fine, it still looks good at 1080p.

Guess we'll tryhard to make up for the minimal amount of screenshots on the last page. =D

The most realistic skybox in gaming, I wish ArmA 3 would have something similar.

Decided to pop back to Rapture to see how the game held up and was very pleasantly surprised by how good the game still looks. Great art direction and lighting goes such a long way.

I also realized how much I missed some of the utterly insane characters like Dr. Steinman in Bioshock Infinite.

Don't mind me. Just here for the music.

Sleeping Dogs owners, should I bother with sweetfx or just play it in vanilla mode?

Let me put it this way. The perfectionist in me usually has to tweak games a LITTLE bit with SweetFX to get color balance\contrast the way I like it... but Sleeping Dogs has such a nice aesthetic style on top of a technically impressive engine that there's almost nothing I want to tweak. And I get the benefit of posting stuff here. Just using SweetFX for SMAA \ screen capture.

One of the better uses of that wonky DoF cut-off that I've seen :)

What the fuck

DAMN! So beautiful that it hurts, RRRRNNNNHGGGGHH

Thanks. My vanity was getting the better of me and no replies got me thinking my images were pants :(

I'm not sure why there is still some visible aliasing though (Could be due to Patin's resizing perhaps?) - i think it must be an issue with their AA algorithm. That's a screen grab from 3840*2160(*4 again) yet there is still some obvious shimmering.

It easily surpasses GT5's photomode quality, IMO, all whilst being in-game.
I will say that Project Cars is posted quite a bit, so it's hard to stand out. And I know for me, there are a lot of great shots posted here that I don't comment on because all I'd have to say is "awesome!" I've posted things here that the ultra-critical Flickr community loved but went unnoticed here... and shots that the Flickr community ignored got a lot of love here. Just post what you like =)
I was only joking, my concern lies more to do with whether or not i'm doing it "right" in terms of the thread - if someone says something positive then i guess its a yes. :)

How are you guys able to get up to 3840x2160? I'd like to downsample for older games but I keep getting a message that this resolution is not supported by my display in the nivida control panel. Any way to get around this?

It's quite fascinating when you realize the difference in performance between, albeit by tech standards old console, the ps3 and a modern pc.

Snapping a 3840x2160 'photo' in gt5 took what, literally a full minute for 1 frame? With a good enough pc that 1 frame in PCars can take anything between 16 ms - 33 ms.

Apples and oranges... but still.

That's the awful stage of screenshotting, when you don't get any feedback on a shot you really like or worse, get shouted at for a bad photo. Oh I tried that years ago when I first stepped into the 2010 or 2011 High-Res thread. It scarred me. Eventually you'll get over it and have a more nonchalant attitude of "I know it's a decent shot".

But usually, if you like the shot and not getting any feedback or comments just know that people like the shot but having to comment on everything just gets a bit too circle jerk sometimes.

I tend to only comment when a picture really strikes me, makes it a bit more sincere but that doesn't mean I'm not liking pretty much every picture posted, because I do.

I remember my early days of submitting 1080p screenshots of Skyrim to the DET group because my ENB config was hawt. Hah. I didn't care so much then. I try to remind myself that screenshotting is a hobby, not a job, and I should just enjoy it and do what I like, regardless as to whether or not other people like them.

I still have trouble deciding what to post. Here's all my Sleeping Dogs shots so far on my "image dump" account.

It's an important stage though. You have refined your abilities and risen above the ocean of shit that the other thread falls into all too often.

how about some combat shots?

its amazingly detailed as my pictures showed.

To take a combat shot the way I'd prefer, I'd have to first set up the camera in the position I want (while enemies are beating me down - yay God mode), get the framing and background, and then HOPE that I can get a cool combat moment within that frame. This is the only one that came out "ok" but... eh.

I've posted a few in the high res thread, but I use that thread for my B-roll shots so I don't care. Even looking at those, I think "Hmmm, why didn't I frame this shot tigher around this area? Oh yeah, because I had to set up the camera before starting combat...."

If I had proper time stop in this game, I'd get perfect combat shots from the angle I want. As it is, I think combat shots mostly come down to luck... and that frustrates me more than it probably should, as there are a lot of awesome moments that would be amazing in screenshots from the right angle but as such... it's impossible to do that.

Try getting good combat shots from multiplayer games. I tell you, it should be an MLG event.

How do you change the resolution? All I can get is 1280x720 even in fullscreen running any resolution over 720p.
Use the Nvidia Control Panel to select 4K as your desktop resolution, launch Rigid Gems, Maximize the Window, press ALT+Enter.

I totally tanked my Black Ops II K/D ratio a few days ago trying to get good HUD-less screenshots in Hardcore multiplayer.

Didn't get a single good one. Thankfully, Sethos and others represented it well enough on the very first page of this thread, so I don't really feel the need to cover it further, nor play it for that matter.

Dark Souls: cropped + downsized from 2160p. CheatEngine table to alter camera distance from player. Minor 'shopping to increase contrast. Shame about that sword.

Why would you do it when playing? You have an entire feature that lets you see the matches again with no HUD and even free cam.

I did mess around with that, but I couldn't get the screenshots to work out the way I wanted to. I think there was a UI element I couldn't remove or something. Name plates, I think.

I would go back again and try, but I honestly don't think the game is worth the effort. It looks okay.
