Destiny Gameplay Premiere

Looked fantastic. I didn't have much hope regarding graphics considering its cross-gen nature but this looked super pretty.

I was excited by the gameplay until I saw the Public Event. Public Events in Guild Wars 2 were just a chaotic clusterf**k. There is no strategy, it is just a random mob of players attacking. It was just mindless, and that seemed to hold true in what they showed of Destiny's Public Events.

I will keep my eyes on the game, but it's a no go right now from what little I know.

Gameplay reveal was really weak. I kept waiting to be impressed and was left disappointed. I expected, at the end, for them to get in some sort of controllable aircraft and fly over an amazing open world to wow everyone and show an evolution over Halo's vehicles. Instead we got borderlands.

I love Bungie's art, the environments look awesome.

I'm in the tired of shooter group, but Bungie always seemed to get things right, so there is some hope for this.

This game looks amazing. Looks like they took out all the parts of Halo I disliked and combined it with Borderlands. I texted my friend right afterwards and told him we were going to have a ton of long co-op sessions with Destiny like we did on Borderlands.

Can't believe people are saying this was boring or genetic etc. I am looking forward to this the most out of any other games so far. Looks like it will be massive with really good detailed worlds with a great atmosphere. This game has a hell of a lot of potential.

I thought it looked incredible and I can't wait to play it. It's between this and MGSV for game of the show for me. I wish I could play it right now.

As a HUGE Bungie fan, I'm disappointed. That reveal was pretty poor. I don't know what I was expecting, but it killed a lot of my hype. I'm feeling like I'd rather play TitanFall than Destiny.

I'm just not into that random enemy swarm and loot based type gameplay, and then that public event stuff. I never bought Borderlands and so I can't say whether it's similar.

Maybe I'll need to see more, but after seeing that gameplay reveal nearly 4 times now, I'm not really excited.

I was curious at first with this game, but now I'm much more hyped. Thanks to the gameplay videos, they always seal the deal or break it. Seems great so far.

I hope the sound design to be pretty solid too. This game needs a good immersion in that department.

I think the game looks great, but I'm not sold on the gameplay yet. Many people have commented on the Borderlands influences, and since I never enjoyed Borderlands, that doesn't bode well for me. Still, I'll keep an eye on it and see how things progress. What I really want is a large beautiful world I can explore, so if they can pull that off, the looting/leveling aspect they've incorporated may not be much of a detraction.

When they killed that boss and he went into the menu to look at his gun the menu seemed like he was using a current gen Kinect to scroll through the menu. Something seemed really off with that part.

I will have to take titanfall over this at this point. It lolls like a great experience though. The scale is awesome. I just realized that many of these games might get overlooked by some because there are too many damn shooters coming out. I'm gonna have to pick a couple to purchase and wait for others. Probably going to get titanfall and destiny but cod is so tempting with its stunning fish AI.

Except that Borderlands has none of the MMO stuff and has boring combat.

I am on board with Destiny. I thought it looked fantastic.

Yup. And you know partnered with Activision they had nearly an unlimited budget. Would like to see more classes but it looks polished and I'm pumped.

I'd be totally fine if the game was just what we saw yesterday. I love Borderlands, but its weakness has always been dumb-as-a-rock AI and guns that never really respond as smoothly as they should (understandable, given the randomized nature of its loot). I know Bungie can bring the AI and gunplay to the table, and the feeling they're going for with the very party-based, play-with-friends system gives me the same feeling that early Xbox Live did. My hope is that they go for a smaller loot pool that's more crafted and tailored in nature to avoid the problem that Borderlands eventually runs into.

12. "Male human warlock." Are there other species?
They talked about it at GDC. Human, Awoken (glowy elf people), and Exo (goddamn robots, I'm in).

Sounded like "Shut Up and Get Behind Me" was the name of Jones' gun, which is all I need (along with the previously revealed assault rifle named "Super Good Advice") to see in order to know that this will have the Bungie charm that I appreciate so much.

Not sure how I feel about ADS and health bars, but damn that looked beautiful. Looking forward to more info about how the game is played, because from my understanding there is no standard campaign.

Some quick thoughts.

1. Lots of movement options, There seemed to be a double jump/ground pound, and a slide in there.
2. Leveling up per weapon? That could be interesting, and it puts value on weapons you find earlier vs. what you find later.
3. The abilities shown looked a bit disapointing, everything except the gun buff was like, "here's my magic grenade"
4. Enemies looked good, moved well seemed fun to fight.
5. Disapointing visual feedback, I'm sad they went the route of hitmarkers and life bars instead of more fluid feedback like the shield flare in halo.
6. Need to invest "Talent points" in guns, how limited will talent points be, do I need to make decisions, or can I just blindly upgrade.
7. PLayer count went to 7 during the group event, previously 6 players max was hinted

I expected it to be some sort of halo which I'm tired of; didn't watch any vids really up until the reveal.

I want it.

In case no one has said it already, the grass looks fucking terrible. You can tell the next-gen versions will be limited heavily by the need to get this running on 360/PS3.

They're using some weird filter again as well, and it's messing with elements of the UI (see below). I don't know it's an AA solution or what, but it's not helping the visuals.

Overall they're very hit and miss. Some of the indoor sections look beautiful. The outdoor section where a lot of the combat took place... well it pretty much went to shit at that point. Honestly, it didn't demo well.

Ah, I see. And yes, good point about the gun and the phrase. That makes sense.

Please, guys. Boarderlands has a different style and a shitty UI. This game is its own beast. Next to my mind exploding at the Kingdom Hearts III announcement, this is the best thing that was shown. First day, fur shur.

This looks like a blast to play which is what counts above anything else, but I have a feeling the more esoteric online integration will be what really sets this apart and gives the game its identity. I'm just dying to know more about how their server infrastructure works.

They must base their servers off of geo location. So people in the new york area play with people around new york.

I loved the sense of scale, seriously when they were about to enter the fortress and looked up, that thing was HUGE and it felt really, I don't know.. Immersive, so does anyone know how is it gonna work? is it gonna be like Planetside 2? with quests? how many players? etc

Games like this one are the innovation gaming needs, not the same generic crap we get with every other shooter like ghosts and (flame me: bf4), which is why I'm looking forward to this one more than anything else.
