whats the difference? those who wont settle for this shit, there is not a single chance that they will settle for even worse!Should we then expect the same, or less for Xbox?

I would say it's 720p but most people don't notice unless they're looking for it.but but that guy said bf4 on ps4 was running at 1080p 60fps...
who to believe?
I have played Metro 2033 on my old 6970 at 15-30fps on PC. Let's not pretend that it's unacceptable because we have all played good games and dealt with worse frame rates than TLoU.
720p 60fps over 1080p 30fps any day of the week. There really is no comparison between the two options.
They said it will be upscaled to 1080p, so it may not be that much of an issue.
Question. Is this something that they could or would work to sorting in a patch?
I'm kinda disapointed. I mean this is next gen and we're still dealing with 720p and 30fps in most cases ?
After a generation of 8 years i expect an upgrade...

I'd really hope that if this is true they at least have some great (non-postprocessing) AA going on.
I'd have expected something more like 1440x1080 or 1600x900.
Developers either use 720p or 1080p. But why not something in the middle? Why no 900p for example?
Honestly this shouldn't be a surprise. The GPU inside these consoles is like a 18 month old GPU for PC's.
Highly disappointing. Can't even run launch titles at 1080p, gotdamn.
I run BF3 at 1080p 60fps with all Ultra settings apart from AA (FXAA only, no MSAA) and effects (set on high cause smoke causes frame drops on ultra here) with a HD 7850 quite easily.
I mean I've had to overclock it a fair bit to get it to run at Ultra settings but to run it at the High preset with a 7850 at 1080p60 out of the box is very achievable.
The PS4 also has a 7850 at a higher spec than stock and there's obvious optimisations for consoles so that factors into it too. The PS4 can do it, but I think DICE went for image quality and framerate > resolution here.
lol720p?
*crosses off BF4 as potential launch purchase for PS4*
GPUs significantly older than that can run BF3 with most settings cranked at 1080/60. PS4 should at least able to handle this above 720.Honestly this shouldn't be a surprise. The GPU inside these consoles is like a 18 month old GPU for PC's.
Because no one has a 900p TV. At least at 720p it'll run at native res on an old 720p screen.
Every other launch title is running at 1080p (as far as we're aware), this is an anomaly.Highly disappointing. Can't even run launch titles at 1080p, gotdamn.

Given we've seen 720p games and 30 FPS games, I wonder how long before we land on a game that's both 720p and 30 FPS.
The division is an MMO and a game with a ton going on both visually and otherwise so perhaps.
Get KZSF for dat next-gen feel. No time for BF3 Goty 2.0 edition.

Free downscaling on 720p screen its almost like supersampling![]()
LOL some next-gen game. Saddest thing is that it's more or less a last-gen game in actuality.
no need to keep pulling our own legs here...Because no one has a 900p TV. At least at 720p it'll run at native res on an old 720p screen.
Well it's that or 1080p 30fps.
What i'd like to see is devs using a dynamic resolution if possible.
no need to keep pulling our own legs here...
not anymore.
the reason it 1280x720 (720p) and not 1600x900 (900p),
is that between these two resolutions lie about half a million pixels more per frame.
therefore, it is very easy to conclude that on a 900p renderer, you wouldnt get your full 60 frames, hence have the last generation resolution of 720p and smile.

Still can't fully understand why people are so quick to dismiss the "XB1 feature parity theory" on this one, given when mere hours ago EA felt the need to make a statement about their relationship with Sony.
EA and MS' "strategic partnership" is a fact. And we're not talking about an exclusivity agreement that would take money out of EA's pockets. In the end, if they get money from XB1 copies, PS4 or PC is not an issue for them.
How is it so rational to mock the idea of them purposefully not "wasting" resources on trying to make PS4 the better version for the sake of said "strategic partnership"?
Yeah, "dat next-gen feel" of static maps and 24 player battles.
a 6970 running metro 2033 averages 43FPS at 1080p even with the totally superfluous and performance-annihilating DX11 extras ticked.
i think i'm beginning to understand why you're leaning towards consoles.
you do know the cpu in these new consoles are pretty wack right?? it's not just about the gpu
Don't know what to tell you, when I maxed out metro on my PC with a 2500k and a 2GB 6970 with maxed out OC, I got sub 30fps performance with all the bells and whistles. Often times I would hit 10-15fps. I bench-marked this long ago.
I don't think you understand why since I've updated my PC long ago to an SLI 670/3060k/16GB RAM PC. I should go out and see how that performs and see if I can at least keep a steady 60fps at 1080p because Metro is a HW hog.
