Its just a rumor but I don't think its that bad of a trade though when you consider the Suns are looking for a regular season spark and the Knicks need a playoff roster. I could give reasons but who really wants to debate jared dudley vs Novak with Copeland as a kicker?

It's a testament to how little you know about bball outside the knicks that you think novak and dudley are even remotely similar just because of their salary.

Not only do you overvalue your unwatchable trash, but you don't even know how far you're off regarding Dudley's pricetag.

Can you really blame Knicks fans, though? After a decade of being bitch-slapped in trades, they think it's the normal operation of these things.

Suns have no reason to get marginally better. It's either young guys with potential or picks.

Shumps/Novak might be enough but they really have no reason for these kinds of moves.

Hey not everyone plays for the bobcats

I admitted Jared was a better player. I never said hey Novak and Jared is a fair deal. What I said was it wasn't that bad of a trade when you look at the situation of both team.

Jared being better doesn't do much for the suns, he's not a game changer, he's just a good player on a good deal. Jared being there or not the sun's are a bum team that needs to rebuild and they know it. Until they can become a good team (through the draft cause they apparently said no to a trade for a star) it seems they just wan't to stay under the cap and get people to buy tickets (something Dy would know a lot about as a bobcats fan).

Novak doesn't hurt there plan and if he wins that 3 pt contest (and become a fan favorite like he is here in NY) hey more reason for Sun's (a shitty team) can use him to try to sell ticket. Also in the regular season Novak has proven to be a commodity who can score fast with few minutes. The only reason the knicks might be looking to move him is in preparation for the playoffs where they can't risk Novak not being on during a game.

As for Copeland same deal he can score and likely take the role of Frye (A big who could shoot the 3) and he has a team option on a cheap deal and youth.

Now with all that shit said about a trade rumor ya'll can EAD

The best reason for Phoenix to pull the trigger on the trade is 'why not, we're no good anyway.' Jared is a fan favorite in addition to being on a good value deal. Sarver loves him some bang for his buck.

In this post, your defense for trading a good player for a bad player is because salaries match.

There's not a single valid legitimate point in your entire rambling.

I know you've watched the knicks be a the shit-stain on most trade papers over the years, but here's a general rule, you don't trade a good player for a bad player just because and expect to get better.

The trade makes no sense, I agree. We're not gonna get Dudley for a guy like Novak.

But if you're gonna mention baseball, then know that the Yankees are always asked much steeper prices in terms of prospects they give up and salary they are expected to take than what the teams eventually end up accepting from other teams, regardless of where they play (Mets with the Johan Santana trade).

lol please shitty deals happen all the time in the NBA. If this happened this wouldn't even be the shittiest trade of the month. You guys can ead for acting otherwise.

This. Just look at last summer, full of shitty signings/trades. Face it, with the new CBA looming I expect to see maybe 1-2 more weird deals. Hell, people were saying Memphis ain't even done.

Most shitty deals happen because a team overvalued a player.

The Suns do not overvalue Novak nor undervalue Dudley.

If the Suns part with Dudley, it's going to be for some young prospect or a potentially good draft pick, not Steve Novak.

Bad deals happen doesn't mean every bad deal can happen.

All of the one way deals last summer involved picks or young players.

Novak ain't young, and Copeland isn't even Stephen Graham good.

Yea but Phoenix is under the cap, gonna get a good pick and don't need to get worse.

Unless NY gives up shump/copeland or picks there's zero reason under the new CBA for the deal to go down.

I'm not even talking about that hilarious pipe dream w/ Novak and Dudley. I'm wondering what team will be next to try and shed some salary:

Now that I see the current figures, Memphis really shed a ton of salary. What FA obligations do they have at the end of the year?
